A storm rolled throughout the town. Munro and his squad were pinned down near their lander. “No no no this is not how i would start this book. it's been done so many times before. What this need is something different. Something.... Oh I know. Explosions.” Rose said scribbling out the her starter paragraph. “Rose.... Rose.... Wake up.”
Rose snapped up as the ruler struck her back. The singe of pain arose. Her classmates looked at her as the instructor grabbed her by the forearm and dragged her to the front of the class. “This my students is why we don’t allow many half-human hybrids into our school. Their kind will always.....” The instructor trailed off still tightly gripping roses arm. The instructor cleared his throat and released the

Hello?” He snapped his fingers in front of her face gathering her attention. Rose returned to planet earth, or in this case planet mars. Rose reluctantly held out her hand when you phone buzzed. Shock came across her face as she read the news. An explosion and hit a building downtown, killing several high officials in the Global Defense Force, GDF for short.
Rose bowed her head and started to run off in the direction of the explosion. ‘How could this happen? What could this mean? Could I foresee the future?’ She thought as she stopped and recalled the dream she had during class and smiled. Her phone was in her hand when a GDF swarmed around her.
“Experiment 49-3, Aka Rose. You are hereby placed in the custody of GDF. Come peacefully and we will bring you no harm. Resist. and face the consequences.” The commanding officer held up an ‘official’ looking document with the mars seal stamped on the top.
Rose dropped her phone and started to take steps backward when Gabriel appeared out of nowhere. His attire had changed, the area where his arm would be started to change and form into something metallic. He was an experiment like her. How could she not have

The arm started to change again taking the form of something that resembled a sword. Rose dropped to her knees, watching the events unfold. Gabriel looked back at rose and smiled. It calmed her, only just enough not to scream and draw attention to herself. The foot soldiers started to make their move. Gabriel snapped to focus turning all of his attention on the foot soldiers. He was small and quick, this gave him an advantage that helped him get in between their
Many people know what it feels like for one action or event to change the whole course of a day, a year, or maybe your whole life. The book The Bomb, by Theodore Taylor, is set on a Pacific Island called Bikini Atoll. During World War II, the Americans took over the atoll from the Japanese, who were in control at the time. The main character, Sorry Rinamu, is grateful for being freed by the Americans. However, after the war, the Americans wanted to test another Atomic Bomb, and they chose to test it for research at Bikini Atoll. The conflict that drives the plot is that Sorry tries to stop the Americans from testing the bomb on his home (person vs society). The two primary ways it generates the plot are when most islanders agree to have their atoll taken away by the Americans and when Sorry gets the radical idea to stop the test from happening from his uncle, Abram Rinamu.
Books were marching together to bring the knowledge lost long ago. Rebirth of life can occur with the progress of freedom. They faced the city covered in ash, and full of curiosity. Montag thought of nothing but hope for brighter days; To accept what’s in the past. His mind running rapidly at full capacity, yet there’s still a fog. The aftermath? Montag and his group of once book burners continue into the distance wondering about every little detail of the rebirth. The city looked of nothing but motionless. It was silent. The only thing making noise was the winds from the bomb that went off hours ago. There were pieces of metal from the bomb lodged into the dirt in every direction. Montag slowly pauses af the sounds of foot
She saw in her dream what was about to happen, looming around her in her unconsciousness, creeping into her when she was asleep, a shadowy premonition of what was coming to shatter her.
The shell was ejected out the barrel of the weapon, spinning in midair. Lead sliced through the sky, darting towards its target. A faint white tracer followed along the bullet. Quickly, the bullet hit the green and blue barrels. A spark erupted, which soon turned into a blazing flower of fire. It rose into the sky like an angry god, yelling its thunderous roar. A silent killer, the shockwave, swiped out of truck and into the surrounding vicinity. Guards flew backwards onto the asphalt, screaming all the way.
By the end of the day that we mainly spent waiting inside Java Jolt for the police to tell us our building was out of danger, London had set up a meeting with her detective friend to met up at our house at around 6:30 tonight. But, by that time, we were just getting let back into the apartment, and we just didn’t have the time to clean up the broken plates caused by the vibrations of the explosion. Our energy had disappeared as we watched the death toll rise and rise to over 30- one of which was one of the guys on Austin and Reed's football team. The building was nothing more than a brick base and ash spread out for miles around the scene. The first responders are saying how lucky everybody is because it’s a miracle that so many people got out of the building in time. Suddenly, we heard a loud, hollow knock on the door that disrupted my

He slowly got on his knees as tears started to flow from his eyes. She was visibly disgusted at the sight of his crying, sending a powerful kick towards his stomach, causing him to cough up spit. He coughed violently as he held onto his stomach. She looked down at him shaking her head as she pulled him up by his head.
The reporter stated on 03/14/16, Xena was brought to the clinic by her mother and father. According to the reporter, the child had a fever of 103.7; Xena was very irritable and vomiting. After the deafening thumps and roaring of the explosions, suddenly I hear nothing. My ears feel as if someone has clapped them hard, and the pressure in my chest is terrible" (Staples 66). This is the first defining event that starts to put the characters in danger.
Just a few hours ago, Kate would have never thought she could escape the force field. That sounded like a crazy dream, but now she was free and so was Mr. Jacks and Darby. They were in the outskirts of Philadelphia and it looked like a normal suburban neighborhood. Though it was obvious that no one had been in these houses for a while. They must have disappeared… Kate thought to herself. There was no sign of human life still being here.
I turned around and pulled my hair back as I checked it to see if any more been ripped out. But that was when I noticed Mrs. Perez lying on the gym floor. A few girls were already crouched down next to her and one was calling out her name as she fanned a hand in front of her face trying to give her oxygen. I looked at her lying there motionless and a sense of dread and shock begun to fill me. Did I do that? I thought. No, I couldn't have. I never touched her unless… unless she had caught an elbow when I was hitting Keri. I then heard someone say to somebody else, “Go get the school nurse,” and then a couple of girls took off running for the hall.
She’s bleeding. Help! Someone call 911!” She yelled. Everyone rushed out of the school with fear. A big crowd headed toward the door. Alex and I were squished up in the middle. No one will ever notice it is me. Before we can all get out the teachers already blocked us off. Oh no! I thought. I just wanted to get out of here. Short enough, the cops and ambulance were pulling up. The screaming sirens and flashing lights filled the parking lot. The teachers guided us all into the gym so the paramedics could easily get her body. Everyone was filled with confusion and fear. Everything just happened so quickly. Mrs. Crawsond made her way onto stage and approached the
Gabriel from the dead finds himself in uncomfortable situations, most of them being when he is around women. In “The Dead” Gabriel finds himself in an uncomfortable situation with Lucy when he says, “ I suppose we’ll be going to your wedding one of these fine days...”(p.g. 8), which Lucy replies, “ The men that is now is only all palaver and what they can get out of you.” (p.g. 8), at this reply Gabriel starts to feel uncomfortable. He tries to fix the situation by giving Lucy money, “..it’s Christmas time isn’t it? Just here’s a little (p.g. 9)” this doesn’t end up making the situation better, but instead he makes it even more
A lot of time had passed since he’d last seen Archie. Then again, a lot of time had passed since he’d last seen anyone, really. The ordeal with Groudon- and by that, he meant nearly boiling everyone on the planet alive- had left Maxie a shadow of his former self. Where there was once a proud, hot-tempered man with the power of an entire organization behind him, there was now a guilt racked and depressed 40-something who didn’t a friend in the world. (Which wasn’t true, but Maxie wouldn’t listen to anyone who told him so- not even his admins.) Most days were spent inside, brooding and imagining how that day could have gone so horribly wrong, if not for that child. The talented trainer who bested and tamed Groudon where he could only stare on
One of the biggest debates in sports right now is whether or not college athletes should be paid. They spend an extensive amount of time between classes, workouts, practices, and games. As an NCAA Division III athlete, I can relate to having a demanding schedule. Everybody has to go to their classes and practice every day. In addition, we have skill workouts between classes depending on the day, as well as lifting four days per week in the offseason and two days per week during the season. It is important to keep in mind that the schedule of a Division I athlete would be even more strenuous. On top of that, a school’s athletic teams are the face of the school. For many people, the only
