I met Victoria in middle school when I had recently moved from Mexico and she was always eager to provide assistance to others. We quickly became best friends in the subsequent years as we spent time together in class. Because education has always been a priority for us, we shared similar goals in school and worked together to accomplish them.
The ideas, styles and concepts of the piece influenced by Neil Shieg with his linocut artwork of the homeless. His linocut techniques were inspired me, which his artwork detailed demonstrated the face features and successfully created feelings. His artwork provoked my emotions, as I felt related and connected to the homeless. The way Neil Shieg delivered the messages was also inspired me. He cleverly turned the thing that was forgotten in society to a meaningful image. My piece was also inspired by Teemu Maki’s skilful technique in the African Queen. Study African Queen also supported me in sending the messages since its theme and theme that I aimed for my final piece are quite similar, in which both of them discuss the sacrifices of a woman.

Between the 19th century and the 20th century, parts of Asia were decimated by drought. A quick glance might lead one to believe this was a natural disaster, but in his book, Late Victorian Holocausts, Mike Davis provides a contradictory theory. In Davis’s opinion, the encroachment of western civilization, though not strictly responsible for the droughts, are largely to blame for the subsequent famines that plagued Asia. He even goes so far as to suggest that the influences of western civilization resulted in the deaths of millions of Indians and Chinese, who were essentially murdered. He argues that the European presence (mainly British) in India and the associated influence on the economies of both India
“I’m performing Mozart’s concerto in A major. Piano has always been an integral part of my life. Without it, I would not be the focused and persistent person that I am today”.
This book was very peculiar. The characters had very different, strong personalities that mixed well within the book creating an interesting story. They all stood out in their own way, but overall one was far more prominent. Squealer stood out because of his job and how he did it. Although trustworthy, he was a very manipulative and exaggerated person.
