Last year Sasuke was foolish. He let popularity and fame clouded his judgment. He was the quarterback for the football team are just a bunch of self-centered jerks. The football team bullies were Choji: he was a big guy and very strong although, he has a bad temper. Then there was Rock Lee: he was strong, but a little stupid. Kiba: he absolutely loved dogs and also loved jackets too, but he found everything boring. These are the main guys on the team and they would go around picking on the weak like brutes. One day Sasuke decided to target Naruto. While heading home one night, Sasuke pushed Naruto into an alley and punched and kicked him, he only stopped to see the progress he made. After that, Sasuke felt awful what he had done to the poor
In truth, Naruto didn’t get stronger without the help of his friends. These friends consisted of his fellow ninja from the academy, his senseis, and the other Jinchuriki. Yet, because of the support from all of the people in his life, Naruto became an even better hero than he would have become if he were all alone. Consequently, Naruto’s big heart sometimes leads him astray, causing him to make rash decisions. For example, his best friend Sasuke decided to embark on the path of vengeance, so Naruto was willing to do anything to bring him home. This lead to several of his other ninja pals getting hurt, almost killed, in a battle against a crime organization led by the rogue ninja, Orochimaru. Sasuke never respected Naruto’s ninja skills, so to bring Sasuke back from the evil influences of vengeance and Orochimaru, Naruto vowed to become strong enough for Sasuke to acknowledge
Over the years throughout high school, I have been a part of many athletic teams. I have been blessed with the ability to become apart of volleyball, tennis, dance team, softball, and even club volleyball where I have a new team annually. Travel volleyball includes driving on the weekends up to nine hours away to compete for the majority of the day for three days straight. Over this time period, being with your teammates for such a long time, you made bonds that will last a lifetime. The memories made are priceless and are cherished so dearly. Being apart of all of these teams has taught me important life lessons, and has shaped me into the person I am today. I encourage everybody to become part of an athletic team because you learn helpful characteristics

Lindenwood alumna Nicole Hensley earned one of the most prestigious awards given out by the NCAA this winter when she named the winner of the organization’s Top 10 Award. The award is given out each year to just ten of its approximately 460,000 student-athletes across every division and sport. It was a hot and sunny day in the month of May in the summer of 2016, and sports started to frustrate me. I, struggling with the game of football because of my size and strength, had no clue what to do. I wanted to quit. I wanted to give up, but my father said no. he said unless I can find something else to do, he would not let me quit.
As children we are taught to include everyone because it is not nice to leave people out. If this is a practice we are taught from a very early age, why is it okay to change that just to win a sporting event? There is an understanding that when you are in middle/high school, there will be tryouts for a sporting team. The children who are good enough, make the team, those who are not, get cut. With the understanding that some players skill level is higher than others, the playing time may not be the same. With that being said, if you are good enough to make the team, then why would you not be good enough to play for your team at least once every game? We all know the benefits of being on a team, learning to cooperate, working together to achieve a goal, helps improve for communication skills and allows youth to exercise. But what if you make this team and don’t ever get to play, are you still seeing these benefits to being on a team? If you tryout and make a school team, then all players should be allowed to play in and participate in every game.
Cheerleading originated in the United States during 1877, and was originally an all-male activity that involved the students cheering on college sports teams. Since then, cheerleading has evolved into three different types: School cheer, collegiate cheer and all-star cheerleading. When cheerleading originated, it was mainly students cheering on the athletes and motioning from the sidelines. Although many people still view cheerleading as girls on the sidelines chanting, cheerleading has undergone a huge change and is focused less on cheering on teams and more on the athletic aspect and competition against other teams. A sport is defined as something that requires physical skill, exertion and competition; modern day cheerleading meets all of

When it was your first time doing something and you said to yourself, ‘’I wish I could do this for the rest of my life? ’’ I’ve grown up doing the thing I’ve been wanting to do, which is playing professional football for the NFL. I’ve been playing football since kindergarten, since then I know the game perfectly. My first year of kindergarten sparked me to be interested in football.
The NBA is an amazing thing - but what team tops the rest in the league. There are a few good contenders like Michael Jordan’s 1995 Chicago Bulls but a lot of people think it’s the 2017 golden state warriors. What their team has achieved in Oakland, California over the years is outstanding.
Basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski once said, “Leadership is an ever-evolving position.” Not only is this true in basketball, it is also true in life. It is not adequate to be stagnant in leadership; you have to evolve with your supporters. Different situations call for different skills, and with people looking up at leaders, they need a plethora of skills. This cycle drives itself, with leaders persevering and being inspired by followers to grow and emerge ready for the next challenge. True leaders are not born, they is molded into leadership by their followers. They needs the perseverance to challenge themselves and overcome obstacles, the followers to put their faith in him, and growth over time.
In 1995 Scotty Thurman was on top of the world. Thurman led the Arkansas Razorbacks to a NCAA basketball championship with one great performance after another. After this miracle season, Thurman made a decision that would change his fortunes. Rather than come back for his senior year and get his degree, he elected to make himself eligible for the NBA draft. With a NCAA championship under his belt, Thurman was confident he was ready for the NBA, but NBA scouts had different ideas. Thurman could only sit and watch the draft from start to finish. Today Thurman finds himself without a college education and still chasing his NBA dream in the Continental Basketball Association. With nothing left to turn back on, basketball is all Thurman has
It is a cold, wet October morning in Slippery Rock, PA. The school bus carrying 50 sleeping high schoolers pulls into a gravel parking lot, joining a crowd of buses and vans already lining the edge of a vast grassy field. A never-ending white line is painted on the short-clipped grass marking a trail. It follows the outside of the expanse, along the parking lot, beside the road, up and down the hills and valleys, and through small patches of trees and brush at the far end of the field. Football goalposts crown the crest of a hill in the distance and white wooden posts guard the insides of the curves of the white line. As the bus driver turns off the motor, the girls begin to stir and sit upright in their
Throughout this vast country we as Americans are entertained by many different things, including movies, music, and sports. Although, there are many ways for me to be entertained, I prefer the enjoyment of sports. As a youngster I enjoyed playing backyard games. We rounded up neighborhood kids and played for fun. We played either football or basketball every weekend. These two sports are the favorites of those who play them around the world. While these sports are alike in many ways, they are very different in other aspects.
