The topic on which I am going to prepare my ASSIGNMENT is dealing with technology surveillance and control. The base of this assignment is from the Famous Novel “1984” written by “GEORGE ORWELL” in the year 1949. First of all let me write a brief base of the Novel.
In the novel 1984 is shown a totalitarian state. It is dystopian novel and is written just after the end of “THE SECOND WORLD WAR” so this novel shows a land affected by the war. In this novel a fictious character named “BIG BROTHER” is shown as the their leader. People does not know who he is they only hear his voice which gives them command. This makes The Big Brother very easy to rule them. He controls their private lives also. Anyone who is seen or caught doing anything illegal, according to Big Brother, is punished and tortured very brutally. The main characters are WINSTON SMITH, JULIA and
O’BRIEN.
Now coming on the main topic of Assignment which is “Technology surveillance and control”. Surveillance means to gaze into someones private life by the means of some devices which captures their activities or devices which records their conversations or by the means of some
Humans too. Surveillance is the continuous monitoring of the behavior of someone or a group. This can include a very fine watch from nearby or from some distance. In this modern world it is not difficult to understand as we have got a ton of devices who can make a spy on us and on even countries. For example in our schools we always saw a CCTV camera being installed and its footage directly goes into the room of the principle.
Anyone caught doing notorious or wrong activity was immediately called to principle. Same was the case in this novel. A big face which has eyes as cameras and speakers were installed on every road, every street,
