One of the many of the world's problems is sickness, but some diseases have no cure which can result in death. Cancer is a code we just can’t seem to crack and it has taken hundreds of thousands of lives. Everyone knows of someone who has died of or had cancer in their life. It’s a hard sickness to beat but many strong people do beat it, some being children. I have personally seen my family members go through this and of course, some didn’t make it out alive. If you have seen anyone who has cancer, you’ll see how it can take over your body, how that person doesn’t even look like themselves anymore. I want to be able to give people a second chance at life, some haven’t even lived. Children are only a couple years old when they have to battle cancer. If we could cure cancer, it would open up do many doors for so many people. Parents have their children taken too soon, I don’t want to experience that pain they have felt, I don’t want anyone else to feel the pain they have felt seeing their children suffer. I want to solve this problem for my family and my future children. I want to solve this …show more content…
My goal in life is to make a difference in this world whether it be in medicine or whatever I decide to make my career out of. Helping people is something I am passionate about. I enjoy seeing the smile on their face when they see someone doing good in this world. I want to be able to tell my patient that they are cancer free. I want to lift their worries and fears right from their shoulders. I want to change their lives and give them their lives back after fighting for them. I want to change medicine. When people are diagnosed with cancer , they think they are going to die, I want to make them say, “is that it?’ because they know they will live through it. One day, I am going to change lives and medicine as we know
III. Scientists may not know right now why cancer affects certain people but they do know that it has nothing to do with age or gender.
This goal is very personal to me in the sense that i strongly desire to help others and to improve the lives of the victims. My goal is to work and study my way up to become an oncologist, to work on patients with cancerous threats, preparing to improve the treatments for victims of this devastating obstacle that is cancer. I hope that someday I can be the girl that everyone looks up too. Also to try and find a cure to cancer.
Cancer. We all know someone who has suffered from it or has passed away because of it. Cancer now affects one in every three people, and is the second highest cause of death in the United States. For decades, the medical community has been on the hunt for a cure for cancer, and have been subjected to intense ridicule from the public because of a lack of progression toward a possible cure. In recent years, many scientists, doctors, researchers, and the general public have come to believe that the cure for cancer is being suppressed because of this lack of progress. Those who say it is suppressed claim that the drugs used to treat cancer actually cause cancer, making a patient sicker and sicker. As a result, the patients are forced to spend
Specific Purpose: To convince the audience that childhood cancer is more common than believed, and that action should be taken to increase awareness and funding for research.
It is my aspiration to be able to persevere and endure the difficult obstacles that may occur later in life, and overcome them as Dr. Watson has been able to. It is my objective to find a goal to direct my ambition towards, a purpose that would allow me to fulfill a sense of achievement, and feel that my part in the grand scheme of the universe has been completed. One character trait that would be beneficial for me to develop is compassion, to be able to empathize with people who are facing a difficult challenge, and, through understanding them, help them to overcome the struggles they are going through. Dr. Watson has also taught me that the act of giving can bring you a certain sense of happiness. His entire life has been dedicated to giving back to others, whether it was his family or his patients.
It’s October of your fifth grade year, at the end of the day. You’ve gotten back into the swing of things, your teacher is awesome, and you’re at the top of the elementary school food chain. You’re about to walk outside. The weather is beautiful; the trees are still mostly green with a few ambitious leaves already changing color. The sky is blue and the sun is shining in the way it only does during fall. You’re going to remember how it felt to walk across the parking lot on that day for a long time. You’re happy, like you normally are when you leave school, and you get in the car. That’s when Mom tells you your little brother has cancer.
My career goal is to become a pathologist. Pathologists are like detectives, anxious to crack medical mysteries such as cancer, AIDS, and diabetes. Every disease that is on the surface of this earth is as important as the other because they have that same heartbreaking effect. One disease that I would care solve is cancer. I recently saw a picture of a little that was suffering from cancer, unfortunately, cancer won, but the picture is so heartbreaking because I can see the pain that she was in. That is just one example of the millions of individuals suffering from this disease. Everyone have one life to enjoy, I truly feel that if I am capable of finding a cure and erase this scare. I would love for a cure to be discovered sooner than later
“Lets not call cancer patients as patients, they are cancer fighters. They are brave hearts” - Vikrmn, Gura. Nowadays, you hear more and more people getting cancer(13). It is a stress that many people worry about. You worry if one of your parents will get it. You pray your children don't’ get it. It’s a constant worry. You watch television and you can get this horrible monster from microwaving your food, drinking bottled water, carrying your phone in your pocket, using deodorant, coloring your hair and much more. Finding a cure for cancer would be a prayer answered for many.
James Hosmer was a fisherman, a hunter, a gardener, and an office worker. He thought he was healthy most of his life. He couldn’t wait to retire soon. He had worked his whole life to get to this point. Then tragedy struck, he went to his doctor one day because he was having pain all over his body. That pain ended up being cancer. The cancer would stop him from planting his garden, the cancer would stop him from getting that big fish, and spending time with grandchildren. The cancer would also stop him from his lifelong dream of seeing his daughter Susana Nwosu graduate from nursing school. It was a slow and painful death. The person that was once full of life, happiness, and energy was gone. There was just a shell of a person left. He
Our world is plagued with cancer. And our world is dying because of it. Lives are taken every day in wars around the world caused by pessimistic people who can’t be happy about life. These pessimistic people in our world cause this cancer, and the only way to find a cure it is to be optimistic.
Colon cancer is one among only two types of malignancy disorders that can be prevented with screening, the other being cervical cancer.
According to American Cancer Society, in our bodies most people are born with two bean shaped organs, found attached to the back wall of the abdomen, these are called kidneys. As you grow in life your kidneys have multiple jobs, but the biggest job is that they act as a filter in your body. They will take in the blood and filter any substance not needed, such as excess water, salt, and other waste. Once the process of filtering anything bad begins, your kidneys will kick out what we know as urine. American Cancer Society says the kidneys will also “help keep your blood pressure controlled”, by making a hormone called, renin. Need more red blood cells? Don’t worry, your kidneys will make another hormone, known as erythropoietin, sending a message
b. Our cells are programed to know when to grow, divide, and when to die, with that said just like any other machine, if these “parts” within our DNA do not work then that is when our machine goes off track and starts breaking down.
Something I would like to accomplish in the future, is to help people in third world countries because they need health care, I would be glad to see the results of my works, and they deserve just as much as everyone does. Those kids in third world countries deserve an acceptable education. I hope I would be able to help people in third world countries in the future because I am benefited to be in a position to help
