When I walk up Sutter Avenue, I might be engulfed with the aroma of Dave's Jamaican Restaurant grilling up their famous jerk chicken. If I walk down Sutter Avenue, I’ll probably hear the Nigerians in the neighborhood debating politics and a corrupt country. The diverse neighborhood I grew up in plays a huge part in the person I am today.
Diversity, to me, has always been about learning more about the world around you by surrounding yourself with people from various walks of life. Growing up in a Nigerian household, where most of my family had the same traditional views, I often appreciated the fact that I lived in a country where there were so many people with different thoughts and ideas that I could factor into my own opinions. I believe that, diversity allows people to see things in a new light and expand their minds.
Diversity is imperative in this world, because it allows for the exchange of ideas and values. When I attended Brown University’s Pre-College program, I noticed that there was a lack of diversity and I felt like I was missing out on a learning experience. When you have environments where majority of the people think the same and have had the same experiences, it can be difficult to have a flow of new ideas. However, even when faced this situation, I still proceeded to educate the people around

The people of Mexico welcomed me into their world and gave me the chance to explore and think differently about a culture that was so different from my own. I stepped out of my comfort zone and immersed myself in the language, food, and customs of this beautiful and exciting country. Not only was I able to learn about Mexican culture, but I was also able to showcase the vibrancy of my own Nigerian culture to the people of Mexico. We came from two different worlds, but were still able to connect and learn from one another, which truly is what diversity is
Diversity teaches us to accept. I have lived in a very diverse community for much of my life. Highland Park consists of a lot of white people, but also there are a lot of Mexican immigrants. In the high school the races tend to separate themselves, but we also teach each other about our cultures and we learn a lot from each other. Many people have experienced diversity. They learn so much and become more understanding and accepting of other people because they have seen much of their
Diversity enhances the local community by letting people adapt and change their attitudes to which previously they might have had a different attitude. Individuals may develop their own attitudes and identities along with beliefs and behaviours, which makes the community unique.
1.9 Describe how diversity (cultural, ethnic, multi generational) and ethics affect the selection of project and programs. Our country and world are staring at a massive generation of people moving into retirement and older adulthood. Americans’ knowledge, perceptions, and awareness of the impact the imminent Baby Boom are generally minimal and/or negative in nature. The production of a series of short films, which will catalyze much needed and long overdue community discussion about the future of aging in America. Developing an interactive online community fueled by these efforts, in turn fueling this movement.

Diversity helps cultures and traditions to loosen the grip on racism, discrimination and things like that.
Diversity allows us to expand our horizons and see things from others perspective. To me, diversity means the ability to grow and connect with others and expand your knowledge of the world’s cultures, diversity means not to judge but to appreciate. Diversity is exciting and brings fun to our lives. Being able to relate to others that our different from ourselves helps shape our personalities and who we truly are as human beings. Without diversity we would all be the same.

Michael Taylor Mrs. Northernor British Literature 4 December 2016 Guilt and Conscience of Macbeth Dirty consciences and guilt played a huge role in the play "Macbeth". Many people did many things that put things on their mind. William Shakespeare is the author of this amazing play. I believe in the beginning of the play the characters had a sense of humanity and felt guilty for things they had done but throughout the play they dropped that sense and found that they felt no remorse for their dirty deeds.

A diverse community is becoming the norm in the United States. The city I grew up in you live in people lived within their race/culture communities. If you were black you lived in an all-black community if you were white you lived in an all-white community. However, now the city is made up of all races and nationality, it is what is called a melting pot community. Therefore, there is a need for a diverse community program for children and adults.
From my point of view, diversity means inclusion, which means our ability to include difference. Diversity does not mean race, nationality, gender or sexual orientation, it’s the way we interact and take those different from us. Diversity can also create curiosity. When I am exposed to different people and cultures, I like to learn more about the different groups that I have encountered. This helped me to understand how and why things work the way they do, it also led to the idea that we could find a way to make a difference.
What is so special about students learning about diversity? Is there some need for this in their future? While it has not been a big deal in the past, diversity is important for many students to learn these days. Engaging in diverse cultures and learning about how others believe and think is a good way for students to grow into mature adults who will be able to help the world around them grow into a more accepting and diverse place. To fully understand why this is important, it is wise to go over why students need diversity, and then the benefits of learning about diversity.
At first glance I look about as non “diverse” as can be. A white middle class male brought up by two parents, with two siblings, and a dog. Much like many other kids my age I enjoy playing video games, watching movies/tv shows, participating in sports, and listening to music.
Views that has changed since throughout my life and why they have and why they have not. Also, I will be describing a situation where diversity influenced my life. I also will be talking about how this situation has influenced my life. The second part of this essay I will be talking about the Common Read book in which has taught us students about diversity around the world after the 9/11 attacks on the United States.
I believe that "Diversity" plays important roles in our lives. Without diversity, we cannot widen our field of view. Diversity helps us to open up our eyes and our world. From reading the essay "How diversity makes us smarter", written by Katherine W Phillips, I learned that there are some negative effects brought up by the social diversity where dialog of inclusion is advanced, but mostly diversity is something that has positive effect in our society and even individual. I could also reflect and make connection with my experience of moving from non diverse community to diverse community.
