Mikiyas Hailemichael Art Appreciation 1301 03/07/2018 Museum Assignment It’s pretty clear that art is one and major part of our life because we experience it in our daily basis. Art is related to who we are somehow and sometimes words fails to express how art and our lives are interdependent to each other. I have seen some art galleries a little while ago but now that I have learned all these things I have completely different point of view towards every single art. I believe that Art is something that captures the eye. Whether the artist is trying to communicate an emotion, an idea or something else, the most important thing is how well the audience receives it. However, art can also be shocking, something new. If a creative piece by an artist can spark the …show more content…
One example would be the painting of The Shepherd Faustulus Bringing Romulus and Remus to His Wife. This oil painting made in 1654 shows a father carrying two babies with a shit and handing them back to his wife. This painting can persuade the viewers that a man is also capable of caring for babies and it is not just the women’s duty to look after babies. Another notable example of art of persuasion, that is not in the Dallas Museum of Art but that is covered in the text book, would be the Egyptian sculptures of the pharaoh. The sculpture had a human body with a wild animal face to represent the personality of that particular god/ess in a symbolic way which symbolizes how powerful and different the pharaoh is from the general citizen. The sculptures had one leg in front of the other to represent that the pharaoh leads and to show the mightiness of the Egyptians to the rest of the world. I believe this sculpture fit best in art of persuasions because it the purpose of this sculpture is to present the pharaoh as a god to Egyptians and also to shape other civilizations opinion on
The thought of art is more than what you see it is what you feel and what you learn from looking at it. Art can heal the soul and create and new outlook on images we may see every day. Sadly, we may not always see the art in things, pieces, or, humans.
Many people enjoy art in variety of different ways: through music, movies, television, writing, reading, painting, tattoos, clothing, jewelry and even the make up they put on. Many people utilize art in order to accomplish different things, for some it is a safe haven used to escape from reality, for others it
Today, one can see the tactic of persuasion being used as a standard avenue to influence a person’s attitude or beliefs by presenting them with different messages that encourage things like using certain brand name products, vote a certain way, or where to take a vacation just to name a few. There are four types of people that include gullible people, skeptical people, firm believers, and people who are leaders who trust others as well as make others follow their ideas. Persuasion is a widespread topic of social psychology and may be done in different ways. There are two types of cognitive processes by which to persuade someone, which are the central route or the peripheral route. For this assignment I used mostly the central route approach as well as using a little of the peripheral route approach. To reinforce the peripheral route approach the use of pathos was also used during the video to play on the emotions of the watcher. This PowerPoint is effective at using the central route of persuasion, peripheral
Art can be defined as expression of human creative imagination. An artist creates artwork either for their own enjoyment or for the enjoyment of others. The value of the artwork can vary from the artist themselves to the audiences embracing it. This creates the value of art to be different for everyone. One may feel a deeper value for an art piece then someone else might. The value of art comes from different perspectives.
A malicious attacker goes to a local grocery store at multiple times every other day for a week to determine when customer numbers are at their highest and to find who the weakest victims would be. The attack does this to in advance of his attack to verify when the least suspicion would be brought to him. He decides midday on the weekends and afternoon during weekdays has the highest activity levels and that elderly people are the easiest targets as they don't understand the security needed with their technology. He goes into the grocery store to look for possible way to obtain a person’s credit information through a forced NFC link with a relay attack. Influencing employees in the work place has been a challenge for many managers and corporations. Many have tried a number of methods in order to find success. These methods range from power, control, rewards, motivation, and persuasion. Our focus here is the use of persuasion. Persuasion, according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary (2016), is the act of causing people to do or believe something (pg. 1). This literature review considers the use of persuasion in the workplace by responding to the following questions.
Art has massive divergent purposes and has many more heterogeneous reasons why people are mesmerized by the talent art carries. Art can be considered “shocking, and perhaps...incomprehensible. ”(“The Evolution of Visual Art In the Modern Era." 16). Art is “creating beauty” (“The Evolution
Art is a good observation and it's interesting as well. It lets us think it’s a lesson from the past. It’s also a good benefit to us. Art lets us incorporate techniques into our own experience. I think art wants us to see what the world is like. It wants us to see the image of the people or whatever the image holds and analyze it. It also, lets us observe by looking at events,
According to Google Search, art is “the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.” This semester in aesthetic expression we talked about art; the different forms of art and the meaning art has to each individual. For me, art is a huge part of my life. I say this because I am a filmmaker, cinematographer, editor, graphic designer, director, etc. In my industry art plays a pivotal roll each and every day. However, when people talk about art on the daily, they always talk about a painting or a sculpture. I believe that no one really thinks of film and or music as a piece of art,
Art is a way for humans to express creativity and imagination in various mediums of work. Art can come in the forms but are not limited to paintings, sculptures, architecture, statues, dramas, plays, music, and dance. To me, art is something that causes the person observing the artwork to feel a certain emotion such as pain, love, fear, or sadness. A great piece of artwork can make the viewer almost feel like they can replace themselves with those involved in the medium and feel the exact emotion as those in the piece feel. An example of this would be viewing the play Cyrano de Burgerac, where the playwright or artist of the play makes it possible for the viewers’ hearts to break as Roxane tells Cyrano how great the words of
One of the most critical skills required to be successful in life is the ability to persuade others. The art of persuasion is a talent that is often overlooked. However, if one is unable to persuade others effectively, they will never be taken seriously in a professional environment. In his book, Rhetoric, Aristotle spends quite a bit of time on the subject of persuasion. In fact, he defines rhetoric as, “ the faculty of observing in any given case the available means of persuasion" (Rhetoric). According to Aristotle, persuasion can be divided into three factions known as the three modes of persuasion. Although the modes of persuasion can be implemented within an argument separately, one must integrate all three modes in order to
The Art of Persuasion Used since the times of the ancient Greeks, the art of persuasion has
But art is the exact opposite. It allows us to expand our minds and learn more about ourselves and the world around us. People express their creative skills and imagination through art, and others appreciate their artwork for its beauty or emotional power. Art defines what it means to be human and expresses the emotions of the human experience. One of the greatest periods of prosperity for art was the Renaissance. It was an age filled with several advancements, especially in art.
Art is an object or piece of work that brings one pleasure. Art is also something you see or feel and you cannot even begin to describe the ways you like it or how it makes you feel. Art is something that portrays beauty and happiness. Art lets you see the world through another person’s perspective. Most art seems to tell a story about where a person has been and the things they have encountered along the way. It lets you connect with the artist and see things through their eyes. Art is a way of expressing one’s self without words. When I think of art, I think of paintings, portraits, sketches, and sculptures.
Art has been around for nearly as long as the world has been in existences, Art is a creative expression with a variety of styles and interpretations. Century after century art has evolved from culture to culture evolving with each epoch; it has been criticized along the way. People do not adjust well to change and art is no different, but once people get over the initial shock they start to appreciate the valve art brings to each culture’s. I can attest to the fact that there is nothing more difficult than attempting to get a handle on the understanding of specific portraits, sculptures or some piece of architecture or trying to comprehend the methods of making these stubbing images. But once the initial stun is gone and when we have all assimilated this bit of visual information to our own jargon we start slowly start to price together what the artist is trying to articulate. Artist tend to indicate us better approaches to see commonplace things and how to translate new circumstances and occasions through different sorts of visual apparition. Some call this a creation of visual language; I like most learn and make judgments off of what is visually catching and the artists are intending this to happen. Art has been an imperative part of every society and can be seen in just about every aspect of our culture. Over time history has unmistakably demonstrated that art is more than what is perceptible by the each individual’s senses; however it is likewise an impression of how
