I will discuss these factors with the child’s parents in order to design an intervention program with the most current, appropriate, and effective evidence-based interventions. Additionally, I plan to include caregiver education on various treatment options (behavior plans and other treatments), community support system and other resources. That will lead to modifying the child’s maladaptive behaviors through the use of positive reinforcements such as praise, and tangible rewards and decrease unwanted behavior through time out, and removal of privileges to improve occupation-based outcome
Evidence-based practice is extremely important in health care. It is not only important to know how to perform a certain skill, but why it should be done. There needs to be a standard of care and providers need to know the best way of doing things based on evidence. The article mentions that in the 20th century, many medial decisions were made on doctor assessment and preference (Brower, 2017). Many physicians were practicing dramatically different when compared with one another, which led to the realization that changes needed to be made and Evidence-based practice began to develop. Even though Evidence-based practices have been in play for a while, there is a gap between understanding and applying evidence-based
The purpose of Chapter two is to establish the theoretical foundations of the Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) project, discuss the connection between the EBP model and the PICOT question, discuss the literature search and appraisal of evidence that supports the project, synthesize the findings into recommendations for best practice to form a model for the EBP Project. The PICOT question at the core of the project’s purpose asks: For elementary school staff does the use of a specific anti-bullying program training reduce the risk of bullying in the school compared with current anti-bullying practices? This chapter details the search strategy including databases, keywords, limiters, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and describes the method of

According to Stevens (2013), the call to develop and implement evidence-based practice (EBP) within all healthcare disciplines is fueled by legislative demands for improvement in standard medical metrics such as mortality and morbidity. However, increasing demands by the public for evidence related to the metrics and outcomes of such concepts as quality of life illustrate what may be more important to the client (Stevens, 2013). This client-directed focus has resulted in patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR) (Stevens, 2013). "The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) helps people make informed health care decisions, and improves health care delivery and outcomes, by producing and promoting high integrity, evidence-based information
Applying evidenced-based practice has three steps. Step one is making sure the research is creditable. Going into detail about step one should model a social work practice. In a social work practice, you always want to make sure you are looking for clarity and in some cases it helps to paraphrase it or reword it differently. As a social worker you have to be non-judgmental and try to understand every perspective. You have to be unbiased when it comes to wording and how it affects the meaning of the conversation. Also, making sure the research on the surveys or interviews are fair and represent the entire population. The second step is when you match your outcome of the research in your own “practice wisdom." As a social worker you want to compare the research you made with prior experience. You want to have different perspective and information that help you understand the client better. Lastly, the last step is to ask questions to the clients about their significance of what they have accomplished by working with you. Just asking what the client has learned can help
In medicine today it is becoming essential to remain on the journey to best possible practice, which “involves implementing available evidence into practice” (Dogherty, et al., 2013, p. 129). Dogherty, et al. (2013) researched the facilitation of evidence based practice by selecting 20 nurses “to attend an interactive knowledge translation symposium to examine what has worked and what has not in implementing evidence in practice.” Results from the study showed both many positive and negative facilitation experiences. “Successful implementation (of evidence based practice) is associated with focus on a priority issue, relevant and easy to use evidence, development of strategic partnerships and a multidisciplinary project team including
I have been working in community based services for three years now and one of the topics that I thought would be interesting to research would be the efficiency of evidence based practices within a community setting. I have myself been trained in several evidenced based practices which I have implemented with families. However, it has been a common experience among my colleges that many of these practices do not fit well within CBHI services. I would like to explore the issue and propose date to my field placement on how to better implement these evidenced based mental health practices within the community. I realized that this is a broad topic but I will work on refining this idea as I believe it will be valuable for my clients.
What are ways to connect research and practice? How might counselors use research in marriage, couple, and family counseling?

Evidence – based practice can be defined in two ways as to being the approach to therapy emphasizing the pursuit of evidence on which the theory or techniques would be helpful for the clients to examine evidence before taking action (Pucci, 2005). Another way to identify evidence – based practice is by taking an approach to therapy which is supported by research findings or findings providing evidence that is accurate (Pucci, 2005). The purpose of evidence – based practice is to apply current mental health and addiction practices. As it may apply to individual clinicians, evidence – based practices should increase the efficacy, efficiency, and the applicability of services provided to individual patients (Norcross, Hogan, & Koocher, 2008).
Social media (digital technology) platforms are defined as any form of digital communication through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content (such as videos). Over the last several years, the use of social media platforms such as blogs, text messaging, games, and Twitter, have had significant growth. Social media tools have become an effective way to expand reach, foster engagement and increase access to credible, evidence-based health information.
Evidence based practice (EBP) is an important part of social work. Every social policy and interaction with individuals is based on experience and careful selection of research. Moreover it aims to empower individuals and reduce discrimination. Therefore it promotes productive interactions, which is crucial in this economic climate. Therefore. Social workers have to be competent and confident in analysing the latest research and being able to judge whether it is suitable in practice. Moreover this is supported by Standards of proficiency (SOP) section 14 “Be able to draw on appropriate knowledge and skills to inform practice”.
EBIs to reduce disruptive behavior and increase academic achievement can include trainings and implementation support at the school, class-wide, and individual student-level, and are often either academic or behavioral in nature. Overall, implementation of both universal (i.e. class-wide) and targeted (i.e. student-level) interventions have demonstrated positive impacts on decreasing disruptive behaviors and increasing student academic achievement (Flower, McKenna, Bunuan, Muething, & Vega, 2014; Vannest, Davis, Davis, Mason, & Burke, 2010).Ross, Romer, and Horner (2012) also found that teachers in schools implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports with high fidelity
Consultation is very time limited and goal directed, with that being said data-based interventions is important throughout this process. It is important that constants began documenting case notes, which will help gain a better understanding of the overall case. Its important set goal and make sure you are able to reach the goal. Implement all intervention approaches if possible and also incorporate new skills.
The purpose of this case study was to find the central issue, constraints, critical factors, and Theoretical Framework that will later help a client in building an intervention plan for this client whom is having issues with their overall performance on the basketball court. One issue was trying to balance college, family, and working. Providing for his kids even though he is away from home. Another issue would be finding a place and adjusting to the areas overseas. In many cases there are many steps we can take in trying to help the client perform better. The steps in becoming a better athlete could possibly help in this case of Lack of Positive Thinking and the Presence of Negative Thinking. The five phases of assessment, which are screening, outlining the issue, identifying objective behaviors, checking progress, and following up with the client, all provide essential elements that allow for the development of a comprehensive and effective intervention plan (Cooper, Heron, & Heward, 2007).
