The very first word he said to her became the last word. He was very outspoken and folksy, but never dreamt of doing something like this himself. Everybody, his near and dear ones knew that he will never do any thing to harm any one. He never made fun of some one who was a stranger to him. But on this very day he said something which he thought he will never say to a girl. But he did. He himself had no clue of what he has said. A really absurd feeling and he stopped talking to any woman and went deep into a shell where there was only silence and echo of what he has said. THE WORD. The thing hit him so hard that he never recovered. It was a kind of fall for
The sun pounding down, the cramp creeping up from deep inside the calf muscle, the extreme fatigue sinking in; yet just ahead, he can make out the banner flying in the barely-there-breeze. He may have made a wrong turn at mile 8, started getting cramps at mile 17, and twisted his ankle when he fell at mile 23, but he keeps limping forward. Phoenix Jackson, the elderly woman in Eudora Welty’s, “A Worn Path”, is a lot like the injured runner. All writers have to develop a love for the written word at some point in their lives. For some the point is an exact point that they can pinpoint and for others they have loved literature for their entire lives. Eudora Welty was a semi-successful writer but her memoir is considered one of her better books. In an exert of her memoir, titled “One Writer’s Humble Beginnings”, she writes of how she loved books for as long as she can remember and her mother’s influence on that infatuation. In her memoir Eudora Welty writes of the impact of adult and especially parental figures on a child and uses rhetorical language in isolated scenes to convey that message.

During modern times classical and mythic reforms were remade. Modernism also increased industrialization and globalization around the world, during this time most modern fiction was cast by first person and the literature usually had a clear beginning, middle and end. Modernist stories were also known to point out Irony’s, satires, and comparisons between things.
Eudora Welty was born in 1909, in Jackson, Mississippi, grew up in a prosperous home with her two younger brothers. Eudora’s school life began attending a white-only school. As born and brought up under strict supervision and influence, at the age of sixteen she somehow convinced her parents to attend college far enough from home, to Columbus, Mississippi and then to Madison, Wisconsin. After graduation in 1930, she moved to New York to attend Columbia Business School. While living in New York, Harlem Jazz theatre occupied her more than her class did. She returned to Jackson in 1931 following her
The nostalgic tone Welty uses to list the books she has read causes the reader to associate books with a kind of warm comfort by her use of phrases such as "she'd read to me...when we were in her rocker together" and "in the diningroom on winter afternoons in front of the coal fire". The length of the lists also allows the reader to grasp the fact that Welty has been able to enjoy an enormous amount of books on various subjects, including "fairy tales-Grimm, Anderson...Robin Hood...a whack of Pilgrim's Progress and a long piece of Gulliver" and "the Columbia Encyclopedia, Compton's Pictured Encyclopedia, the Lincoln Library of Information, and later the Book of Knowledge". Furthermore, the lists give the reader the impression that there are

In its literal context, it is clear that the path that Phoenix passes by is worn given the rural setting. However, the topic means that the journey to what is deep within an individual can be very tough and worn. The challenges that are to be faced in each of our lives journeys may not be smooth or welcoming for the people who choose to be part of the journey (Welty, A Worn Path: Summary and Analysis). The good thing is that every individual follows a different path in life and this always leads us to a separate path with various decisions that each needs to make. Phoenix serves as an example of the many various paths that are lined up for us to discover and the path that she follows is bound by many challenges and decisions that push her towards the best of her capacity during this journey.

This young man suffered a big transformation in the course of the story; he changed from a selfish individual into a sensitive person who decided to bring back his girlfriend. Curtis decided to grow tomatoes since Latisha liked them the most. In fact, growing tomatoes for his love person was a hope of a new relationship, and Curtis tried his best. Hopefully, his action would impress Lateesha, and their relationship will go on. Therefore, his story reminds me of a friend who was almost about to lose an important person in his life. Unlikely for Curtis, he did not cheat, but made an inappropriate joke and made someone sad; therefore, after a few weeks, he decided to do something special to say sorry. For example, my friend decided to surprise his love person by sending her favorite flowers and chocolates. Even though my friend hurt someone’s feelings, he proved by action that he deserves to be forgiven. Curtis’ story is a great example of how far a person can go when he is enamored. So, Curtis and my friend realized their mistakes and deserve
As a child Eudora already begun to work as an author, however, her heart was set on becoming a painter. She attended Davis Elementary school (Marrs) and in 1925, graduated from Jackson’s Central High School (Magil 3282). While school was out, Welty visited their local library, Andrew Carnegie Library, where she was only aloud to read a total of two books at a time; she then dubbed this as “a sweet Devouring.” During her college years, Eudora attended Mississippi State College for a total of two years and later transferred to the University of Wisconsin. There she decided to put all her efforts into becoming an author. She then graduated with a bachelor’s degree in the arts (Magil 3282). While her mind was set to become an author her father

I wake up, my head pushed against a desk and I wonder where I am. Who am I today? A vague memory of a bet comes to mind.
Bone chilled wintry night of October seventh oak leaf's been taken in the whirling north wind. Where stagnant street lights displayed an evil glitch, Stood a woman with hair color as the night moon. Lip color of a lover's rose. Skin a pleasant olive tone, eyes of topaz. She had often been seen on the most unusual hours, as she would casually hum the most beautiful tune which some would say as a sound of an angel singing.
I loathed my thick glasses compared to his perfect eyesight, so I ate carrots every day for months hoping to correct my vision. I hated how much shorter I was than he, so I constantly stretched in an effort to make myself taller. Even though I loved Star Wars and Legos, I pretended they were lame because he thought so. Instead of admiring the gadgets and gizmos that Jimmy Neutron created, I let him pick the channel, and pretended to enjoy watching the Suite Life of Zack and Cody. My brother Drew and I are fraternal twins; but, growing up, I didn’t feel like a twin at all.
