Everyone makes decisions every day that can change or affect someone’s life. These decisions can be as small as choosing what to eat for dinner to who to fire in your company. Sometimes when we make these decisions we do not think about the effect that it can cause. It is very important that we do think about of decisions before making it, especially in the business world. In the business world, one must make ethical decisions in order to protect the benefits of the company and the public welfare. One problem is that who makes the ethical decision? Should it be the manager or team leader? He checked his pulse and left; That is not how he would want to be treated if he was in the Sadhu place. Through the Universal test, if everybody were to treat people like that, then where would our world be today? If we all just made sure the person was okay and not actually helping them, then human species will become extinct. We as a species need to help each other thrive in order to bring our society to another level. What McCoy did was not an ethical decision based on the Universalization test because his decision to just check his pulse and leave him for others to take care was not an ethical decision. The others did the same to the Sadhu and just left him because they saw what McCoy and the others did. The Public Disclosure test will show that McCoy’s choice was not ethical either because if it was shown to others, many will disagree with his decisions. Public Disclosure test is when one’s information and data are presented to the public and they judge you. Thus, if people saw McCoy’s decision they would be viewed his decision as unethical and
