We are Paying for it Again
Free is not Free when the government is involved. There is always another question
( gotcha )lurking in the trees, or hidden in the red tape. Some people would say, this is just another one of the government programs that will not live up to is promise. Likewise, when a dam breaks and everyone is not prepared, there will be some problems associated with the massive influx of people trying to get into college. President Obama made a pathological charged statement during his State of the Union Speech “That’s why I am sending this Congress a bold new plan to lower the cost of community college – to zero”. . Some students would say “what about all the current students who have student debt, will their debt be wiped clean or interest reduces. These cost-conscious decisions need to be reviewed and not be another smoke and mirror political promise during an election year. The current junior college student will lose out on the student instructor ratio and dedication to students who want to get a degree. The current process of access to professors and student interaction when they have question or problems would be even more limited if the enrollment would grow to capacity. This would decrease the percentage of students having time with a professor for questions and turn this in to a flight or fight process. Some student might say the benefits of coming to a two year college would be negated and be the same as going to a four year college where all class are just large lecture classes with hundreds of student per class. The students who are currently going to junior college for these reasons would potentially be misplaced or diverted to a different avenue. The faculty could also change ideas about teaching when not all the students will have the desire to learn and only want to take up space or be disruptive to other
