Located in North America and home to some of the most beautiful land such as Niagara Falls is Canada. With a population of 36.29 million people Canada is a well established country excelling in healthcare just as many other countries would. But one envious trait Canada carries that many other countries lack is universal healthcare.
Canada has what is known as Universal healthcare, a system that allows every legal resident of the country basic healthcare coverage. There are two forms of this type of coverage that first must be understood. The first form of universal coverage can either mean every citizen has access to either public or private health insurance. The second form allows every citizen access to free or low cost simple services by the government. But under this system patients will never receive a bill from their doctor. Canadas health act principles emphasize public administration, comprehensiveness, universality, accessibility and portability. Public administration focuses on making sure plans for healthcare are administered and operated on a nonprofit basis by a public authority. Comprehensiveness makes sure medically necessary services are provided by healthcare facilities. Universality means every person is covered. Accessibility holds firm that their healthcare plans provide access to necessary medical procedures without financial barriers.
