Introduction
Your hear thunder and lightning screaming. A cannon flies through the air and with a roaring bang, crashes down on the road before you. You are protected the walls of the earthworks you had helped build are still together. You see another cannon fly through the air towards you, but the effect is no different. The walls are sturdy, they can be torn down. The British come marching up the hill, guns are clutched in their hands. You hear the son of a gun fire, and then another gun fires, and another. Your commander shouts, “Fire”. You load your gun and press the trigger. Bang! The fight has begun.

It was considered the first battle great battle of the Revolutionary War. It took place in Massachusetts, on June 17, 1775. The battle first began when William Prescott and Israel Putnam ordered their soldiers to start building earthworks, shortly after sunset on June 16. When British General Thomas Gage heard of this, he sent General William Howe, along with 2,400 British soldiers over to Breedś hill! About four British ships also came along. The battle of bunker hill was the first battle that the patriots and the British were fighting against each other. Even though the British had won this war the battle it was clearer that the British were have a tough time beating the colonists. This also boost the colonists spirit. The British army was led by General William Howe and the Patriots were led by Colonel William Prescott. Thousands of Patriots stood outside the city of Boston and were blocking access into the city. In order to defend the city from being besieged, the British attacked the Patriots on Breeds Hill using cannons and muskets.
