The warning did not really matter enough that the Commanders at Pearl Harbor did not believe he Japanese would attack them knowing how far they were from
Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor seems unwise, ill-judged, and senseless. The attack was meant to keep the U.S. out of the war, but had the opposite effect and instead made them want to fight and join it. Japan, at this time, was not a major power and having them attack one of the biggest major powers by bombing the U.S. naval base in Hawaii didn’t appear like an appropriate idea for them. Then why did they do it? Japan’s reasons for attacking Pearl Harbor was their plan for a ‘new’ world order, the U.S. oil embargo, and the relocation and expansion of the U.S. naval fleet.
The defendant John Bass, alleged that the prosecution was seeking the death penalty against him because of the color of his skin and was granted a motion for discovery regarding the government's capital charging practices. The sixth circuit court found that Bass made a threshold showing evidence based on national statistics that "the United States charged blacks with a death-eligible offense more than twice as often as it charges whites." However, the Supreme Court reversed the Sixth Circuit, holding that a discriminatory effect could not be found because " raw statistics regarding overall charges say nothing about charges brought against similarly situated defendants."( United States v. Bass,536 U.S. 862 (2002) (per curiam)). The Supreme

Prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor, Japan and China were at war. Japan had invaded northern French Indochina. The U.S. did not agree with Japan’s invasion into China. This invasion lead President Franklin D. Roosevelt to placed a ban on trade exports from the U.S. to Japan. This ban of exports included oil, steel, and scrap iron. The Japanese economy and their trade and military greatly suffered from this ban. By July of 1941, Japan had occupied southern Indochina. So in return, the U.S., Britain, and the Netherlands froze Japanese assets. By doing so,
The attack on Pearl Harbor was planned out very well by the Japanese, due to knowing that the American ships were in port on Sunday the 7th of December 1941 and also where each ship was located. The Japanese pilots had maps, photos and models of the bay so they would be prepared and also able to distinguish their main targets. Over the next few years, American and Allied forces slowly pushed the Japanese back towards their homeland. Each island battle a war of attrition with high losses of life on both sides. A US naval blockade was put in place to stop the supply of raw materials into Japan by ship and a programme of continual firebombing of Japanese cities was implemented.
