The King Eider isn't the usual sort of bird which comes up in everyday conversation, but it should be. This beautiful duck has more to it than most people know. Here are some facts about it. Stay tuned for part 2, coming soon! Number Fifteen: The Females Nest Alone In most birds, it is common for both the male and female to tend after the eggs, as it is a strenuous job that takes a lot of time, and because they must also be wary of predators. The King Eider does not do this: the females tend the eggs alone. Nature is amazing. Number Fourteen: They Dive Deep The King Eider is an unusual bird that dives deep into the water to get its food. The animals have even been caught in fishing nets a good 150 feet underwater. Number Thirteen: They …show more content…
Since they migrate in such cold climates, the only time they can go into a breeding season is when it's warm enough. Number Twelve: Their Flocks Are Huge When the King Eider migrates, it isn't no small thing. Many of their flocks are estimated to carry more than 100,000 birds, which must truly be quite the sight. Number Eleven: There's a Legend Behind the King Eider Not every species has a legend behind it, but the King Eider does. This legend says that the animal is nothing different than the common Eider with so much experience that they have basically been given the means to become another species. Number Ten: Green Eggs and Ham?! Well, minus the ham. The King Eider has an interesting green egg color, which makes no sense if you think about it. In the area in which they live, their eggs, being such a different color than the surroundings, would stick out like a sore thumb. Having said this, this hasn't changed their ability to survive (at least, not much). Number Nine: They Go to Water Early On There's usually a set time that a land animal waits before going into the water, but the King Eider seems to be completely different in this regard. After it hatches, the baby birds are basically ready to
In the story birds attacked when the tide came in and in the film the birds attack at different times, over and over.

Male Northern Correboree Frogs move into the breeding sites in summer and call their mates in late January to early March from covered mossy chambers at the edges of Sphagnum Bog pools and other overgrown places. When the females briefly visit the calling males they typically lay 20-30 eggs in a nest.
Throughout the story, the author uses several bird references. When Phoenix begins her trip the author describes that the tapping of her cane sounds like the “chirping of a solitary little bird, then she hears a “mourning dove” crying. Eventually, Phoenix then encounters the callous hunter who points a gun at her but then she sees a quail inside the haunter’s bag specifically a “bobwhite”. With all the birds Phoenix encounters throughout her journey, one can say

Evolutionary adaptation has been widely recognized as shaping life forms into definite, distinguishable groups with significant traits. Some animals have evolved into odd ways, that they could be removed from their parent group. For instance, the vegetarian eagle is related to the Golden Eagle, however its distinctive feature is that it attacks palm trees instead of animals. This eagle has a special adapted digestive system, which separates itself from the rest of the eagles. You may be wondering how it can live without a typical meaty diet that all other eagles experience. This is because the bill of a vegetarian eagle opens nuts, and obtains the fats inside to compensate for a typical meaty diet. This bird is an excellent interpretation of
Once in the Kingdom of the Ocean, there were two aquatic creatures who both resolved to be sovereign. The first creature, named Crispo, Latin for the word wave, was fast. He was faster than lightning. The creature was quiet and he rarely said a word. His appearance was sleek and slender. He had two horns upon his head, he had sharp teeth like a canine, and a very long neck. A bite from his teeth was lethal. The second creature, named Aestus Estus, Latin for the word tide, was larger than Crispo. He had huge jaws with sharp claws on his fins. Unlike Crispo, Aestus Estus was a bit ponderous. Aestus Estus was haughty and he, like Crispo, thought he should be king. Both of these creatures were ruthless and their prowess was legendary.

Earth is a very interesting planet. It seems to be filled with never ending discoveries and beautiful settings. With these settings also come with other-worldly animals. One of these said animals is the “anas wyvillina” Hawaiian Duck. This bird resides on the beautiful island of Hawaii. This species seems to have it good, but that statement could not be farther from the truth. As of 2012, the Hawaiian Duck has been considered an endangered species. This species is a dogfight to prevail and live on as a species, but are terribly losing. This bird is interesting because of the habitat and niche it possesses, why it has become endangered, and the conservation efforts.
He wonders why the birds are just waiting in the sky as if they are waiting for a command, why they are restless, and he thinks it is strange that they are little birds and they are the type of the birds that normally keep to their own territory and don’t have a history of attacking people . When he looks out toward the coast, he sees the birds flocking in his direction and he believes that for some odd reason, they are going to come down to the
One of the most renowned elements of entertainment was the theatre. Getting the chance to see a movie was a great experience not easily forgotten. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Dill, a small child, is able to see the movie Dracula. Shortly after seeing the movie he runs away from home, and knowing that his friends understand his love of the movies, he tells Jim, a close friend,“‘Think they’re still searchin’ all the picture shows in Meridian.’ Dill grinned”(140). A level of pride is developed in Dill when he can gloat to everyone that he has watched a picture show. For the more mature audience during the Dust Bowl Era, attending a movie was a simple diversion. Claire Ellerton states,“During the depression going to the movies

I have spent more than 25 years as a public servant. What I have learned in that capacity is that some of the main aspects of public administration are to organize societal administration programs, resolve social problems, improve the quality of life for others, efficiently manage resources, promotes the fair working environment and to promote the economy. It takes a dedicated and knowledgeable servant to uphold these aspects. With this premise, I have developed an appreciation of the progressive decision-making process in regards to public administration and policies.
