The United States during the World war traded with other foreign countries around the world in order to gain supply cheaply and manufacture weapons and supplies to the American army, but even though this benefited the U.S, Labors went on strike. Labors went on strike due to the fact that Federal regulator had kept the workers wages low during the war to maximize their businesses so that they may thrive during the war.(Doc 8) Labors were very upset due to the fact that they expected that during wartime their wages would increase, this was their motive for going on strike. Another way WW1 impacted America was through migration.

"He Kept us Out of War" (World War I Quotes). This quote was a democratic slogan stated during the election of 1916 on behalf of President Woodrow Wilson. This slogan makes an attempt to refer to the good leadership qualities and decisions that President Wilson made to keep the United States of America out of the war and that is why he should be elected again to serve as President. Though this made a valid argument to show that Wilson was smart to keep us out of war, many events took place that continued to anger the U.S. which eventually made them declare war on Germany on April 6th, 1917 (World War I). In doing this, they broke their policy of non intervention. The United States held out of the Great War for so long because of

The industrial era had many effects, not the least of which was plunging the world into world war. One must consider the relationship between eras and events as a student of history. The industrial era created a perceived need in America for raw materials and markets for goods. The United States was not alone in this desire for expansion. All the industrial nations were in open competition to develop vast empires that would provide them with the fuel to run the factories of industrialism. This imperialist competition led to tension and the creation of vast armies. The willingness to use these armies was known as militarism. In order to feel safe (there was a pretty fair degree of paranoia as
The first World War is universally considered to be one of the single deadliest events in human history. World War I is undoubtedly one of the largest military altercations to ever take place, with a duration of five years, involving 32 nations. Over the course of five years, the war killed almost 37.5 million people, approximately 57% of all soldiers involved (britannica.com). One might suspect a conflict on this scale would have arisen from a divide in ideology or from a dispute over prized resources. However, it was a politically unimportant event paired with pre-established military alliances that created one of the deadliest conflicts on Earth.

A nation is a conglomerate of people bonded by the same culture, history, and motives. A government exists to further the prosperity of the state in which it was installed. In a nation with such a diverse and assorted population, constantly expanding due to immigration, complications are bound to arise: loyalty to different lands, various cultural differences, diverging aspirations. The United States has excelled in all facets of society due to this diversity; but, it is not exempt from the drawbacks which such diversity entails. Such a young country, founded on immigration, can be easily divided when global conflict becomes apparent. People are suddenly more aware of their heritage, their connections to the home of their ancestors. The motives of the population which originally brought them together to form a nation are promptly pulling them apart. How can a government act according to the motives of its people when the people have diverging motives? A government will have to choose the will of one community over that of another. More often than not, this can lead to the isolation and persecution of the neglected party in order to safe-guard the actions of the government. Neighbors are turned against each other,
Momma always said that the war would end and everything would go back to normal, but that was before she died. A house has never felt this empty, I have never felt so alone. Here we are, in late November, trying to get back what’s left of our lives. Daddy does nothing but work, yet we’re still so poor. Jobs aren’t moving very fast here in Nevada, but Daddy still picks up anything he can to earn a little extra cash. My sister, Aliyah is only 14, and she is already looking after the house and taking care of our little brother, Liam, who is only 3. I never saw myself being someone biting their nails waiting to get drafted, but I was. I’m 17, and I sat around everyday waiting for someone
What were the effects on World War 1? This war had a few effects on America society, though the war instigated problems, causing n effect that is negative on the American home front. “Americans experienced a lot of problems, like the narrowing of our rights and the war caused a patriotic sense to America that got to the point where people were discriminating people from other backgrounds.” Also, from many soldiers drafted to war more job opportunities were available. Though this seemed like a good thing, negative effects came out of it
