Have you ever felt trapped? Like someone or something does not let you be yourself. You want to be able to just say or write exactly how you feel, but you can’t because if you did you would make the situation worse for yourself. It’s hard. It’s hard when there is hundreds of thousands of people that are going through the same situation as you,but you’re the only that knows what is actually going on. It’s hard when you want to reach out to people to help them but you feel that if you did it wouldn’t get through to them. It’s hard when when you can’t be yourself with the only person that you need approval of to be happy with yourself. Frederick Douglass, Malcolm X, and Sandra Cisneros have been through what you’ve been through, they have felt the way you have. Feeling like they weren’t able to express themselves the way they wanted to to those they wanted most to listen. They all wanted to be accepted but instead they kept themselves as prisoners in their own mind. One day, they decided that they wanted to make a change. A type of change that will not only change their lives dramatically but also the lives of many others. Although he was a prisoner he wanted to be able to write in a way that touch his readers , malcolm had a way to talk to people face to face but it came to writing he wasn't as successful . He realized that his only solution to his problem was to practice reading . After that he learn how to write and used words to help others relate to him. When he did this he was able to escape his mental prison. He blown and dedicated his life to spread the ideas of Mohamed ally as well as his own ideas.
