The comedy genre is designed to give us humor and provide us with laughs. This can be done in an often extremely exaggerated manner. Some jokes may even stick with us for a lifetime after we’ve watch the movie. The films that I chose to watch for the comedy genre were Animal House (1978) and The Newsroom (1987).Animal House (1978) is a comedy film directed by John Land is. Even though it was Shot in 1978 this movie takes place during 1962.This film follows a quest plot of college frat students(The Delta Tau Chi)trying to make their way through school, while opposing a rival frat (Omega Theta Pi) house and an ill-tempered dean who has it out to get them. The conflict of this movie is man vs. man or in this specific case man vs. dean. The film starts with Larry Kroeger and Kent Dorfman checking out frat houses to join. Larry is an average handsome guy and Dorfman is his goofy and chubby companion. They start at the Omega Theta Pi house and soon feel out of place by their aesthetic, so they visit Delta Tau Chi and fall in love with the idea of joining this frat house. Other members of the house include Bluto (John), Otter (Eric), Boon (Donald), D-Day (Daniel), Hoover, and Stork. Shortly after pledging and gaining admittance to the frat the group is challenged by the Dean because of their violated probations and places them on Secret Double probation. The Dean hates the Deltas and is ambitious about getting their frat removed from Faber College. The Deltas retaliate by throwing
In the novel, Animal Farm by George Orwell, many events have happened on the farm as the book surrounds itself on the Russian Revolution. As problems start to arise on the farm due to the idea of equality in Animalism, animals on the farm revolted to get their fair share. Soon they were able to overthrow their human master after a long period of mistreatment. Not long after, the pigs started to lead the animals since they were believed to be more “intelligent” than the rest. However as time goes on, the pigs took advantage of this and became more dominant on the farm, especially with Napoleon, who was one of the pigs. His power on the farm led him into becoming a power-hungry pig, which negatively impacted him. Napoleon’s selfish behavior
Almost all the animals had a very bad memory so they were not able to
Rowley and Greg are not the most popular kids in school ¨I´ve been trying to be a lot more careful about my image ever since i got to middle school¨ (Kinney 18). The book is very well wrote if you are looking for a funny exciting book that is not boring to read. Its like every other kids life he has an older brother that likes to pick on him named Rodrick and an annoying little brother that gets whatever he wants his name is Manny ¨When I woke up this morning and went downstairs there were about a million gifts under the christmas tree. But when I started digging around , there were hardly any gifts with my name on them. But Manny made out like a bandit. He got every single thing he circled in the catalog¨ (Kinny 120). So over I enjoyed reading and writing about Diary of a wimpy kid it was a fun read not too hard or not to easy i am really looking forward to the next books. I enjoyed how the book also had pictures if you didnt understand what they meant in the reading it helped to look at the pictures to get a better understanding.
