I am Ally Christman. I like my last name, but at times I don’t . A lot of people call me Ally Christmas. I’m used to it though. So used to it that I don’t realize how much people call me that anymore. So I guess that’s a good thing. At least it’s not as bad as it could be, right? Other than that my life is more than I could’ve hoped for. I love volleyball and I do good in school. I have lots of goals for myself that I would like to achieve. Such as wanting to go to the Olympics for volleyball, and wanting to be successful in life. I also have a great family and a bunch of great friends who support me in everything. My family has always been there for me. They encourage me and help me succeed whatever I put my mind to. I love my family and all the blessings I have in my life and I am very lucky to have everything that I do have. I am the youngest in my family. My brother Tyler is 19 and my sister Tara is 21. We all used to fight a lot when we were younger, but now that we are all getting older and we realize how important it is to have a bond with each …show more content…
We told Riley’s dad to go hard on us, so he did. He went in huge circles and hit his own wake. The first time we were fine, but the second time not so fine. He went in a circle the turned the other way and jerked us outside of the wake. Of course we were outside of the wake on the side I was on. Then these colossal wakes came in from a tiny speed boat that had passed a few seconds ago. We went flying. We were a good 4-5 feet in the air. We landed really hard and went right back up again. This time the tube flipped and we both fell off into the warm water. We had the taste of fishy water in our mouths. At the time it wasn’t so funny but looking back on it I think it was hilarious. It was rough but we asked for it! When I told my parents this they thought it was really funny, but they also wanted to make sure I was
My dad told us we could, but to make sure not to get lost. We said ok and went over to Six Flags Park. Asia was trying to force me to get on this big, gigantic roller coaster called The Batman. I told her she must be out of her mind. She said I was if I did not get on. Reluctantly, I said ok, but told her she was going to be the one paying for my funeral if I don’t make it! She told me to stop doubting myself and grow up already. When I finally got on to the ride I was like, “Oh heck no! Let me off!” The ride man told me I would be fine as he locked the bar into place. As the ride started and we began clicking up that first huge hill, I was like “Oh my God I’m really goanna die!” Then, I was like, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”, and, “AHHHHHH!” Then it was over I was like, “That was so awesome! We got to go again!” Asia said I told you so as we got back in line again. We went on to ride it a total of 7 times. After the 7th time we finally decided to do something different. We wanted to do the Mr. Freeze coaster, but there was a 60 min. wait. That was when we looked over and saw the Scooby Doo ride only had a 15 min. wait so we decided to ride it instead. The ride was a lot more fun than we thought it would be. We were all in these 4 passenger “Mystery Machines” that had lazertag guns and score counters. Asia and I competed to see who could get the highest score. Six Flags had a lot of other cool
We were racing through the field and I just kept thinking to myself nothing bad will happen. There was an oil pumping jack on a hill up ahead. The hill was not to steep; it was much like a small ditch. The pumping jack was surrounded with white gravel. As we were getting closer Taylor started to slow down until we finally came to a complete stop. Taylor told us how she used to jump the four wheelers up the hill and how much fun it was. This was the point where I started to second guess being on the four wheeler with a person I did not know. Taylor sped up and jumped over the hill, she landed perfectly. Jadey decided to try it so I held on really tight, we sped up and shot over the hill. We landed great the first time and went back for another round. As Jadey got more confident doing this we began going faster and higher off the hill. It was the fourth round that did not go so well. We took off from about thirty yards away and were going fairly fast, over the hill and up into the air we went. The four wheeler started to tip forward and I could tell we were going to land with the front wheels first. Jadey panicked and hit the brakes right as the front wheels hit the ground which caused me to fly forward and fall off the four wheeler. The four wheeler ran over my left inner thigh and I hit my head on the hard gravel. It all happened so quickly that is was a
The Carolina Day Key Middle School had an overnight in September 2015 at a place called Camp Timberlake for Boys so everyone would get to know each other better. On our last day we went on a canoeing trip in the French Broad River and some of our canoes flipped over! One of them was Lacy, Aubrey and Mr. Flamini’s canoe. Lacy and Aubrey were in the canoe, and then Mr. Flamini tried to get in….. and the whole thing flipped. They haven’t even started! Then, about ¾ the way into the ride, Nick, Mac, and Michael's canoe flipped over as well, and they were in one of the most calm parts of the river. The guide had to canoe all the way back up, against the current, and help them get it back right side up. I was in front of mostly everyone except for
It was a hot summer day on Lake Logan Martin, perfect for taking out the jet skis with my best friend Jake. We were showing off and trying to impress some hot girls on a pontoon when all the sudden, Jakes jet ski went flying upside down through the air like a drunk pelican. Before I knew it, all I could see was the bright orange and yellow colors of his jet ski zooming by my head, and Jake hit the water head first causing water to splash all over my face. I rushed over to where his jet ski landed and I was sure he was dead. I dove into the lake and grabbed him, he felt lifeless as I drug him to the surface. A patrol boat sped up to us and helped pull him on the boat. Thankfully he just suffered from a broken clavicle and a broken arm but it
I’m seventeen years old and i’m a senior attending Weslaco East High School. Some interests i love doing is playing sports. Growing up I came from a very outgoing family, we usually played outside or went camping.
The weather was decent, but evening was approaching and it was getting chillier. A lay on my stomach and steady the tube as Noah gets on. We grab on to the handles in front of us and the tube is propelled forward by the boat. We started picking up speed, but it was still easy to stay on the tube. We started reaching speeds of up to forty miles per hour. It was amazing, the water flashed by on either side. We were still going straight but we were ramping off waves. The water splashed in my face every time we went airborne and landed again, but I didn’t care. And then we started turning. We turned right, which was the side I was on. We just let the tube go where it wanted to go, but that was a mistake. The tube came closer to the gigantic wave made by the boat engine. We reamped of the wave, and I knew I was a goner. I began sliding off the tube, and I thought I was gone. Finally my body was flung into the water, but my hands had a firm grip on the handle bars. Uncle ralph slowed down enough so I could pull myself up on the tube. With most of my body soaking wet, and slippery. When we turned again we turned left. This time we tried to lean against the wave. The tactic worked pretty good, but me hit the wave again. Noah was gone in an instant. I look back and he is floating some ways back
I had always wanted to go and try out for the school volley ball team but i wasn't sure if i was going to make it or not. I made the first cut and then the second cut. At the last tryout i put all the effort i had into it, hoping that I could make the team. The final cut came and i was not on the list. I was devastated. This was very hard to take. I told my parents that i didn't make it and they said that they knew i tried my best and that there is always next year in high school. Sure enough they were right. Coming into grade 9, I made the volleyball team and have been playing ever since. I thought that i was panicking and it was over but it turns out that i was just choking and thanks to my parents they helped me out of that
I always loved to play softball. I was so good I skipped tee ball and when straight to the big leagues which was coach pitch. These ages were the six and seven year olds. I used to play every base and I could run like a firecracker. As I got older I picked a base to be my specialty which was second and my favorite jersey number was number one. I started softball at the age six and played all the way till I graduated from high school. Through all those years I have won many trophies and awards, for instance I made the All-County Teams and I got player of the year. When I got into high school I picked up the sports basketball and cheerleading. Once I started both it took me awhile to fall in love with basketball but cheerleading I instantly liked it. I liked cheerleading because it showed my girly side a little and I started when I was in the 10th grade. I started basketball when I was in the 7th grade and it was hard work just like softball but I had to have more self-discipline. It took me a while before I became a pro but by the 9th grade I was playing with varsity and balling like Candace Parker. Like softball by senior year I also made All-County, player of the year, and most valuable player. At every game I could always look up and my family would be there, either cheering me on or giving me tips on what to do better. Not only were sports important to me but my grades were more. I always wanted to be top of my class and have all A’s. I have always been on the honor roll ever since I could remember and wouldn’t dare miss getting my name put in the paper or getting paid by my family members, which still happens till this day. Also why in school I join the JROTC, not because I wanted to be in the Army but it was just something I was interested to do. There we went to the nursing home to sing to the elderly and we kept our campus cleaned. Also I served as
I wanted to take that boat out and go tubing for the first time in my life. I was so excited that I even offered to blow up the tube by myself with nothing but my lungs, not knowing we had an air pump. Finally, after what felt like hours of begging like the annoying twelve year old I was, my dad said it was time to go. My sisters and I got our life jackets and wet shirts on, while my baby brother and step mom got on the boat, and my dad sat in the driver’s seat. My sisters and I were on the back on the tube, trying to find the best way to position our arms so we didn’t fall off. My dad turned the key to the boat and suddenly, my excitement turned to sheer panic. What happens if I fall off? What if my sisters fall off? What if there was a lake monster or a really big fish in the water? From that moment on, I was determined to stay on, so I held on to the handles for dear
When discussing and proving the person of Christ, there are two basic laws that must be addressed and proven. First you must prove that Christ is one hundred percent human (humanity), then you must prove that at the same time Christ is one hundred percent God (deity).
One summer, me and my family went out of town to Florida. Florida is a very nice place to go vacation, and swimming. While we was in Florida, me and my family went to the beach. It was my first time go to the beach, so I was excited. When we got there the sand was very hot to where we can barely walk on it. Me and my family was having a great time at the beach. Me and my brothers decided to go swimming. When we got into the water it was very salty but we did not care, we just wanted to swim. We got into water just enough for it to reach our waist. My brothers wanted to go deeper into the water. They went further into the water until the water touched their shoulders.
Here comes high school. My friends and I from middle school all went to the same high school, and played volleyball once again. The only difference between us was when I was on the B team they were on the A-team, and when I was sitting on the bench they were playing. We got to high school and things didn’t change, they were on JV as a freshman, and little old me was still on the freshman team. I decided that for the next year they weren’t going to be better than I am. I worked so hard the summer going to my 10th grade year.
In the beautiful blue water I grab the rope and swim to the end of it. Then, the boat starts to move so I pull myself up. Now, I was standing on the Wakeboard gliding across the water. Then suddenly there were waves right in front of us, and we were headed straight for them and I said to myself, “ oh crap”. I still was standing when the waves crashed into my board, but the last wave turned my board sideways and my face hit the water very hard and my face felt like it was split apart, and my family said it looked like
During the summer I fly down to Arkansas to visit my dad and work at a place called Camp Yorktown bay, which is a christian camp with different ages each week. We provide several different activities there and one of them is boats. At boats you can do any sport possible behind a boat that the kids want to learn and we the staff will teach them how. Our oldest age group, which is the last week we do an overnight trip on the boats. My Friend Chandler was on his way to fill up the boat after the long day of work. It was getting dark out and pretty soon he had to drive with knowledge of where the shallow spots were on the lake because you could no longer see the markers pointing out the shallow water. The mistake that he made was mixing up where he thought he was so he had no idea he was coming upon a very shallow part, next thing we he knows the boat makes a terrifying noise and it stops moving. I remember him telling me that he got really scared, and he had realized that the boat had ran aground. It wasn't that big of a shallow spot so by backing up he got free. The boat had seemed fine so he kept driving, when he got back to camp he realized that he had to tell our boss what had happened.
Christ in Majesty is a Romanesque fresco secco from the 12th century that was transferred to plaster and wood. It was originally located in the apse of the Church of Santa Maria de Mur in Catalonia, Spain but now is located in the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston as a gift from the Maria Antoinette Evans Fund. The fresco is a transition from Roman and Byzantine Art to Gothic Art. The artist of Christ in Majesty utilizes his art to educate people in the doctrines of the Christian faith.
