Epsilon Kappa's Vission: A Sample Of Letter

Monroe, NC, July 12, 2017 – The ladies of the Gamma Upsilon Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. have been busy during the fourth quarter of the 2016-2017 fiscal year. The chapter’s activities included welcoming four new members, expansion on the campus of Wingate University, Susan G Komen Pink Sunday, and celebrating 52 years of service.

Sigma Kappa is one of the 26 National Panhellenic Conference sororities. Sigma Kappa’s values include personal growth, friendship, service and loyalty. Our commitment as a sorority is to live with heart which encouraged me to form a purposeful life rooted in a strong sense of character and our values. Through participation in this sorority I also have learned interpersonal skills from people of diverse backgrounds and the teamwork necessary to have a successful organization. I have seen the philanthropic needs in our society and understand the value of community involvement. It is a great honor to receive invitation to apply for membership to the Alpha Theta Kappa. My leadership skills as a gospel singer, interpreter and, treasurer, got developed while serving at my home church in Pakistan. However, it was after coming to Garrett-Evangelical, that I became aware of social justice and what that implies in different settings. During my internship as a Master of Divinity student, I became a bridge between persons from diverse backgrounds. I consider it a blessing to be positioned in the hub of cultures where people from various ethnic, religious, cultural, linguistic, economic and racial backgrounds study at Northwestern University and Garrett-Evangelical. Thousands of Sigma Chi have stepped up to fund cancer research and Beta Epsilon is $6,107 dollars away from reaching the remarkable $50,000 goal this year to fuel the innovative research at Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI). I would formally like to request membership to Sigma Kappa Delta. Joining Sigma Kappa Delta means a great deal to me because it would allow me to have a long-lasting bond with my fellow Lone Star College Alumni. Being a Maverick has completely changed my life and I feel that being a successful student has been, in part, to the relationships I have established at Lone Star.

Flashback to this semesters initiation. Not only did we initiate two amazing collegiate sisters but we initiated the University's Dean of Arts and Science, Dr. Michele Murray. Throughout the years, Dr. Murray has been an amazing support to our chapter as our campus adviser and this semester, she became our sister! If any student is struggling with their work or needs someone to talk to, Dr. Murray is always around to help. Her love and devotion for people, teaching, and her amazing leadership skills are what help her embody what it means to be an Alpha Phi. We are proud to have welcomed Dr. Murray into our Alpha Phi

Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Incorporated purpose is to be of service to all mankind dealing with critical issues in communities domestically and internationally. What I have grown to understand an envision a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated to be, I accredit largely to the ladies of the Gamma Theta chapter. This has the result of attending many of the chapter’s events during my time at Hampton thus far. One of my favorite events was a screening of a documentary Girls Rising. I learned to appreciate every opportunity to learn and gain knowledge because in some parts of the world girls are restricted from receiving an education. A

I am deserving of the Liado, scholarship. I deserve this prestigious accolade, because I put in an incomparable effort to shed a positive light both on campus and community wide. With leadership positions across my campus, as well as potential positions within my sorority, I strive to incorporate the values learned from being a student and woman, into all my external endeavors as well. I use my Italian lineage, to guide my future, growing up, I have been instilled with the values loyalty, respect and love, and these have become these are the principles in which I formulate my endeavors. I utilize these morals in my positions as our college’s Relay for Life Event Chairperson, Colleges Against Cancer’s Publicity Coordinator, as well as Delta

I am a student in my second semester at Eastfield college. I plan to get my associate’s degree of arts and then transfer to the University of Texas at Dallas’ Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communications program. As such, I would like to take all the experience I gain from Eastfield and use it wherever I may go in the future. I would like to receive the scholarship to help me join Phi Theta Kappa and maintain my commitment with the organization.

As an individual I was the top 5th fundraiser for our team, raising a total of $600. Kappa Delta sent the largest team overall of 86 members and contributed a total of $22,675 for the kids! We won the Rising Knight award for the second year in a row and our team captain was awarded Captain of the Year.

I would first like to thank the fraternity of Delta Kappa Epsilon for this lovely nomination, I stand here today looking at the most handsome, funny, genuine group guys that I have very known from my 19 years of living on this world. Never in my life did in my younger years I’d think I would be joining and sorority and on top of that running to be a sweetheart to one of the jolliest and good fraternities on this ASU campus. When I told my mom during the summer I was considering running for sweetheart her response was “I’m happy for you, but sad at the same time, because that means you slept with most of all of those boys.” You can tell I was first in Greek life within my family knowing she really had no idea what a sweetheart actually was.

To my NC A&T State University Aggie Family, especially the Chicago Aggies, your energy drives me to continue to spread thy trophies, year-by-year from Dare to Cherokee. Aggie Pride! To my brothers and sisters of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., thank all of you for being that “listening ear” and keeping me focused on my talent.
