Enlisted Distribution and Assignment System
The Enlisted Distribution and Assignment System (EDAS) is a one-stop-shop for commander’s and assignment managers to communicate availability of assignments and unit strength projections throughout the Army. According to the United States Army Human Resources Command (HRC), “EDAS is a real time, interactive automated system that supports the management of the enlisted force” (2009, p. 3). EDAS is vital to managing almost 400,000 enlisted personnel around the world. Based on an average three year assignment, that is over 100,000 assignments that are processed through EDAS annually.
Characteristics of the Users of the System There are a select few number of individuals within any organization that have access to EDAS. The main users of EDAS that input all of the information work for Human Resources Command as assignment managers. Each Career Management Field (CMF) has an assignment manager associated with it. There are other users that have read only access to the system. Each organization has an S1, or human resources shop. Within this shop there may be one or two users with read-only access to EDAS. These users must have training in proper management of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and be approved for access by their local Commander. After the local signs the authorization, they must be granted access through the installation level Military Personnel Division (MPD). If access if granted, the account is only active for
Serving the United States Military comes with many responsibilities as well as pressure and accountability. However, the military isn’t for everyone, but it offers so much for those who serve. One thing that must be known and dealt with is that this career could be a life threatening one, and there are many obstacles one must go through beforehand.
In EDAS, information on incoming personnel can be collected, and requisition numbers for assignments can be created. All transactions made in eMILPO reflect in EDAS, which means they go hand in hand. (3) TOPMIS II is for Commissioned and Warrant Officers. This system functions like eMILPO and EDAS does for enlisted Soldiers. With TOPMIS II you can maintain officer record data, manage officer strength, and career management.
First off Congrats on the promotion to a very distinguished rank, part of the elite officers of the Armed Forces. I know it is well deserved. I appreciate the opportunity I was bestowed to meet you and also having my spouse be a part of your leadership team. I wish the best for you and your family as you pursue the next leg of your military
The most hardworking people are usually the least recognized. They are generally the least paid as well. There must be some sort of incentive for them to continually work so hard. The United States Army has been the underdogs of the military branch. The United States Army is probably the hardest working branch of the military, but also the least sought after. To the general public they are not considered to be at the top of the spectrum amongst the other branches of military. The government has helped in creating a bias within the branches of military by making the standards to get into the military so low compared to some of the other branches. The Army should be considered the “People’s Army.”
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.”
From the Halls of Montezuma to the mountains of Afghanistan, the men and women of our nation's armed forces have been literally putting their lives on the line in defense of our nation for over 225 years. In recognition of their brave and patriotic service to the nation, enlisted service members should be better compensated for their courage to serve.Good thesis
History of MHS – According to Kongstvedt (2007), the history of military health care dates back to the establishment of the Army Medical Department on July 27, 1775 and congress established the position of the nation’s first Director General and Chief Physician which later evolved to the office of the Surgeon General of the United States. One of the first unique features of the military health system is the act that was approved by the congress ordering the deduction of 20 cents a month from the salary of Sailors and Marines for their care in civilian treatment facilities. I personally consider this as the first “insurance payment system” long before the birth of HMOs. As the military expands, they eventually assigned one Surgeon General for each branch of the military except Coast Guard (Coast Guard was under the Department of Transportation and eventually became under Department of Homeland Security after 9/11). When sequestration took in effect, all branches were consolidated under one health care system: Military Health System.
Leadership is a personal skill that has to be developed and improved upon daily, just like an athlete works on his craft. We all come from different walks of life and that is often a factor in the way our leadership styles are shaped. Our differences of race, gender, religion, home environment, and lifestyle all have an effect on the way we are led growing up. It is a skill that is mastered over time, while never being perfected. Like anything else in life, leadership skills are often developed from who we are, where we come from and the people in our life who have taught us their knowledge.
Military duties, responsibilities and integrity is important to the Army. An NCO duties includes taking care of his or her Soldiers and accomplishing the mission. A Soldier’s duty includes obeying orders. Duty and Responsibility is part of the Army values for a reason. I’m accordance with Army regulation Field Manual 7-22.7 covers the duties, responsibilities and authorities of a Non Commissioned Officer.
Recruitment of the United States military is a vital part of maintaining an all volunteer military force. Because of recent world events and the high operations tempo of the military, Army has had some problems with its recruitment. Convincing civilians to sign up to be a solider can be a tough job when it requires being sent 7,000 miles from home to go fight in a war zone. What can recruiters do to keep
The word discipline comes from the Latin word disciplīna which means "to instruct". Discipline is a specific form of instruction which develops self-control, character, and efficiency.
Many people are concerned about the U.S. military because of how many risks come with joining it. However, the U.S. military also explains the benefits that one could receive. Joining the military is a decision that should not be taken lightly. One must understand all aspects of the military. In order for a voter to be fully informed about joining the US military, one must consider both the risks, like mental illnesses and commitment and benefits, like education, and experience.
I would be eligible for this occupation because I love to be active, and I was in cross country. I am able to run long distances without taking a break. My relatives were in the army like my great grandpa who participated in both of the World Wars. My grandpa used to be in the Vietnam War; he talks about it a lot in his spare time. My family has been in the military, but some of my past relatives have. The US Airborne provides excitement, education, opportunity, and competitive wages.
What is a profession? First and foremost let’s look at how we can define a profession from a general point. A profession is an occupation requiring specialized knowledge and often long and intensive academic preparation. Profession doesn’t mean only to be perfectly prepared on the basis of theoretical aspects, but to meet the strict criteria as well. A good professional should be a leader and leadership means solving problems. Leaders can be assessed according to the amount of resolved problems. Everybody has a tendency to be successful, in trying this; a successful leader has to be confident in his decisions. It follows from that, that generally we can consider the leader as an expert, a matured personality, somebody who meets the high
