Emerging Trends in Cyber Crime
Abstract- We are in a state where without computer and internet life does not seem possible. From the time of the evolution of computer and internet, large scale industries, commercial institutions, financial institutions have become more dependent on cyber space. But at the same time cyber crimes have become the biggest threat to the users of information technology. Considering cyber crimes, many countries have come-up with cyber laws, some countries have implemented them and some will implement. This essay has attempted to deal with cyber crimes and cyber laws; it has tried to solve the problems relating to cyber crimes.
India is one of those countries who have implemented cyber law. In year 2000, India came with a law in cyber space called Information Technology Act, 2000, which was later amended in 2008. As cyber crimes do not have geographical boundaries, therefore to fight against it we need a uniform law, and proper implementation of it.

Cyber threat is a global problem and it needs a global solution, involving all stakeholders. All countries linked together through cyber space must have adequate laws to cop with electronic crimes and especially computer crimes. In Pakistan “The Electronic Transactions Ordinance, 2002” was the first specific ordinance, it was a base for the “Prevention of Electronic Crime Ordinance” (PECO) 2007/2009 along with the laws contained in the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

The article talks about why it is so hard to control cyber crime and enforce laws that will help prevent and protect people from cyber crime. The article starts about talking about how at first when the internet got mainstream it was not regulated at all, but over the coming years we have passed law that regulate things that you can do on the internet. Even though we have these laws that are not working in protecting people against cyber crime, it even states in the article that “It can be frustrating for the victims of such crimes, when the perpetrators are never brought to justice”.
