A lot of us have wanted to live the music dream. Many people have the thought of becoming a star. There is not a doubt that Elvis Presley lived that dream. Elvis is considered to be the king of Rock and Roll. He has influenced millions of people with his music by spreading Rock and Roll across America in the mid-1950’s.
Elvis Presley was born January 8, 1935 in Tupelo Mississippi. Growing up was awfully tough for Elvis. His family had limited money because they were in deep financial trouble. His brother, Jessie Garon Presley was “stillborn” (meaning born dead). Veron and Giddy ( his parents) do their best to provide for their son (early childhood,1). Even though he was a Rock and Roll singer he was influenced by pop, country, and gospel music. His music boomed and he got his first recording contract in the late 1950’s. He helped a lot of people to find their “music selves”. His influence on people went beyond music into their daily lives. Many people quoted things Elvis said along his lifetime. One of his famous quotes was “Thank you, Thank you very much.” He has also said “Till we meet again, may god bless you. Adios” (quotes by Elvis,1) He has said these quotes many times, at concerts, gigs, and other places. He also made at least 29 movies in his lifetime.
In 1967 Elvis got married to Priscilla Beaulieu. A year later they had a baby named Lisa Marie. That was both their first child. Sadly in 1973, Elvis’s drug dependency and infidelity led to the couple's divorce ( Elvis and Priscilla Presley,1). Approximately 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 1977, Elvis had a heart attack. Many people say he overdosed on drugs, many drugs.
If Elvis never had lived, music history would not be the same. Rock and Roll would have never been introduced without him. His popularity resulted in three Grammy Awards and some of his albums went platinum. People were devastated when Elvis died because they loved him. He loved music more than some things in his life
