An activity that I did in elementary school that I think would be a great idea to keep it going is that the teacher brought in a bunch of goodies that are circular. Some of the things that she brought in were pizza’s, cookies, pies, Oreos, etc. Before we got to eat anything, she explained to us that pi is the ratio of the circle’s circumference to its diameter. We all washed our hands and put on gloves to measure the diameter of the food available. Not only did she stress the importance of Pi, but when she cut the pizza we talked about fractions with the number of slices that the pizza had. For the third observation, I made changes to grammar and fixed my sentences so they could flow better. I started by breaking the third sentence into two in the subjective portion. I did this so that the sentences could remain clear and flow. Next I changed the words "seen alone" to "one on one" to keep a professional tone in explaining that the client was seen by the clinician alone during the therapy session. In the subjective portion I also added details about when the client had his stroke, the effects of his stroke on his facial muscles on his right side, and his personality. When in an area that is dirty, we are less conscience about making a mess than in an area that is pristine. Shanty town was once a wonderful small town until corporations such as the shell company began illegally dumping into the environment. Since then the town's residents have suffered the repercussions. In the reading, A 9th-grade classes were given cameras to take pictures of things which bothered them about their neighborhoods, the results were quite a revelation.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 1/6/2016. I arrived at the operation which is located at 3422 Richmond Rd, Texarkana about 12:57 pm. I was greeted by Comekia Island, the person in charge while director was at lunch. The Students at Brookeville high school resembled the students of any high school, broken and in need of a savior. As my team entered the football stadium we immediately recognized immodesty in the girls, in which many of those were just in middle school. We continued walking and I notice the less popular kids sitting on the grass hill, or off to the side not participating in the event. We finally reached the bleachers and observed the parents screaming and cheering on their emphasis Brookeville bees. After passing the section of adults, we found our seat behind the student section. This area was prime for observing the high school students interact.
I begin observing Faith Sanchez a six-year-old, who is in the first grade at Emerson Elementary School on November 7, 2017 over the course of three days. The observation took place at the child’s home, where we had access to the materials needed for the different set of skills that I would be conducting during the observational period. The reason for observing Faith was to see if her Physical, Cognitive and Psychosocial domains are developing at the average range for a school age child or if she was showing signs of atypical development.
On Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 1500 hours I was dispatched to 119 S. Main St. for an assault in progress. Schuylkill County Communications (COUNTY) advised me it is being reported that a male is assaulting two females out in the street. COUNTY advised me that screaming and yelling can be heard in the background on the telephone.
In the preschool, snacks for the children are provided 'buffet style' in an open kitchen area furnished with two connecting child-size picnic tables. Snacks and juice are accessible to the children in this area for a 45-minute period followed by free play time. Children are free to sit with one another as they please.
All children are different in their unique way. The goal of this assignment was to observe different children in an uninterrupted environment. Although all the children observed were the same age, they all acted differently during their observation. The differences in the way we react to different situations are what make us human. These differences can be explained through the theories that different psychologist have developed over the years. Some children react better to things like praise from a teacher or being able to be creative in the activities that they are participating in.
I will be observing a seven-year-old child for my project. Through out the observation both children were moving from place to place. The little girl would grab one toy then go find another one. She would play one type of activity then go back to building blocks. She would stack blocks and connect the rail road tracks for the train. For approximately 3 minutes or more the girl would stay fully engaged trying connecting the railroad tracks. She would forget that she was in a room full of other toys, for a moment I possibly thought she could be autistic because she was able to stay focused on one activity for a long period of time and not engage other children. As big 4th graders you will be coming to the scary middle school next year, only it isn’t so scary. To start with, our middle school’s mission statement is “The mission of the Upper Dauphin Area Middle School is to provide a safe learning environment for students, to encourage them to settle for nothing less than their best, and to build character that will lay the foundation upon which they will build their futures.” First, one of the best parts of the middle school is our character building discovery program. As a result of this program, we are able to believe that character is who you are when nobody's watching. In the following report we will examine all of the elements of a Kindergarten classroom that I observed in Miss. Phillips classroom. I will cover over the school, the student’s participation, and the teacher’s overall. I will also include a Building report card. I will discuss how much the experience had an impact on me.
During my observation time in a kindergarten classroom, I have noticed that the students have a wide variety of abilities, attention spans, interests, and love for learning. When it comes to the teacher’s instructional strategies, she intentionally takes into consideration all of the above characteristics to make sure each student gets what they need to be most successful. During lessons students are engaged because of the teacher’s ability to implement interests of the student’s into things and giving them options. If an error occurs during a lesson, the teacher normally, allows for the student who got something wrong to try again, or to call on a friend to help them out. This way the students are still giving the answers and not the teacher just telling them the information. The teacher chooses a lot of small group instruction and centers where she can work with a small group, but then, easily monitor all the other groups to make sure they are on task and doing their work.
Growing up math wasn’t a subject I was very fond of, albeit, I didn’t like it personally, I feel like you should make it regaling for children to comprehend. I don’t remember much of being in primary school, but I do remember an activity that of found fun. I recall in 4th grade I had a teacher, Mrs. Garza, she was such a lovely lady, I recollect this activity we did in class.
