The Egyptian and Mesopotamian civilizations were developed near two different river valets, the Nile River (Egypt) and the Tigris and Euphrates River (Mesopotamia). The Egyptian civilization developed much quicker than the Mesopotamian civilization due to excess time on their hands. Due to the development of these civilizations, the people were able to construct advanced architecture, art and technology. Both Mesopotamia and Egypt had different views economically as well as their similar ways. One similarity these two civilizations shared were both traded within their civilizations as well as with other civilizations. For example, both civilizations were political monarchies. These governments gave the basis to the social structure. Egypt and Mesopotamia share other differences since Mesopotamia developed first as a civilization without influence, while Egypt built off of the latter to create their own society. A difference between Mesopotamia and Egypt was Egypt was a united country, well under control of one pharaoh while those of Mesopotamia were limited to certain areas either in the north, middle or south. Both of these civilizations shared similarities as well. Egypt and Mesopotamia were both military powered for starters. Also, both civilizations had gained control over old Syria in turns. One last example of a similarity between these two civilizations were they were both a real state. Another difference between Egypt and Mesopotamia was Egypt was a one race country while in Mesopotamia, it was a multi race culture. One last difference between these two civilizations was the Egyptian culture was local with limited influences of other outside cultures due to the isolation of their civilizations, unlike Mesopotamia which their culture was open to outside and new cultures since they weren’t isolated like
