Media has a strong impact on the way we perceive what is good or bad. In the end it is all about money and not about the welfare of people. The media will manipulate ideas around to persuade us to see only the good side but not the bad. Due to the patriarchal nature of our society, women aren’t in any leading media stories instead the appealing women are telling the stories. In the novel, My Year of Meats by Ruth L. Ozeki, features a Japanese-American documentary filmmaker Jane Takagi-little in the show “My American Wife,” sponsored by the BEEF-EX to promote meat consumption of the people in Japan. They show how the media want American to be seen as attractive white women cooking in their show. Jane tries to use the power of the media to show authentic American housewives by including different types of women. She also exploit BEEF-EX of their manipulative use of media to show the dark secret behind their meat and Using the media is how they promote their meat as healthy meat.

Making big choices in life can be difficult, especially if that big choice is having children. There are many men and women who are infertile that still want to have children. Most decide to adopt other children who do not have families or their families do not want them. But when adoption is not an option, there is now a way where those men and women can have their own children together through fertility treatments. Fertility treatments could be a good thing:being able to freeze egg and sperm, they can help infertile couples, and avoiding transmitted diseases would be easier.

This is great because they would be allowing the embryo to live but at the same time both party will no longer have ties to each other. This would be more ethical as they will give a child a chance to live and they can move on with their lives. Embryo adoption states, “Embryo donation and adoption is a proven successful process allowing families with remaining embryos to donate them to another family desiring to experience pregnancy and childbirth” (Embryo adoption). Another scenario could be if Michelle and Brian get into an accident without signing a consent form as to what should happen to the embryos. Medical risks are a huge deal that everyone needs to be aware of, but especially those who are not sure where they came from. Donor children who do not know who their donor is or are looking for their biological parent, may grow up to have problems psychologically. However, with such low statistics it is important to keep in mind that each infertile couple may go through many cycles of IVF; therefore it could end up costing them tens of thousands of dollars. On the other hand, with Australia’s declining birth rate, we should provide more encouragement for people to have children, instead of making them pay thousands of dollars.
