Poverty influences Togolese and Americans life. Togo is one of the third world countries in West Africa, and its poverty is due to the lack of steady jobs which will bring a reliable income to the household. There are no jobs at all in the country, and the few enterprises do not have enough capability to hire; all those conditions develop homeless and shantytowns because people cannot afford a suitable roof. Likewise, the United States which is one of the richest countries in the world still fell poverty in some part of the population. There is no such lack of jobs but poverty still exists. The poverty in the youth population in Togo and the United States are almost the same.

Job availability has an impact on poverty in Togo because the number of jobs available is exceedingly low; the lack of companies that will hire people to work creates unfavorable conditions which affect considerably those who are seeking jobs. How is it possible to get out of poverty without a job? Comparing to my country Togo, this question could not be a topic over here where there are at least some jobs. Most Americans find their way out of poverty through the acquisition of a steady job that provides them an income. Besides the differences in shantytown and jobs availabilities in Togo and in the United States, the poverty in the household is another critical point which has an impact on family’s life. In my country, some families struggle to afford their children school fees due to the lowest of their income. There is a lot of illiterates in my country because the private and the public school are not free. In the United States, at least the public school is free all way to high school, and everyone who wants can be educated. In another hand, the United States poverty caused divorce in families because of the lack of money that can help to buy what

More than 800 million people in the world are malnourished, 777 million of them are from the developing world (Raphel, S., 2014). Poverty is an issue that must be addressed to the population loud and clear or everyone will end up suffering. There are many families trying to survive and live from paycheck to paycheck. Unfortunately, there are some families that are unable to support himself or herself or any family member. One important key issue of poverty in the United States is inequality. Many Americans blame the poor people for their own fate but you should never judge a book by its cover. There can be many reasons why an individual or families end up in poverty. For example, low wage jobs, discrimination and social inequality, vulnerability to natural disasters, war and political instability. Another big issue we face today is child poverty. This is a very critical issue because these young children are our future. First of all, money is a big factor of poverty. Children that grow up in a poor family are most likely to become poor as well. Not having enough money can cause people not to do as much things as others with money can do. Not having money causes lack of food, health, and shelter. Growing up in poverty can cause people to not have enough resources to get an education. A common situation in America is homelessness due to the lack of money people cannot afford a home, so they have to turn to the streets. People usually beg for money on the streets just to get by for a couple of days since they do not have any money. Divorce can also cause poverty because if a couple separates that means less income coming home due to their separation. If a family cannot get used to the change in their family it can lead to poverty. Usually one parent stays with the children and the other parent does not help. This can cause the parent with the children to not be financially stable. If people cannot pay for a doctor visit they put their health in risk. Without money you

Poverty can be caused by situations like accidents that leave an adult unable to work, those working low wage jobs. It can also be cause by poor money management like when my family lived in poverty. In 2008 my grandparents passed away, my father took the money we inherited and moved us to Washington, he ended up giving away all of our money to a man who ran away with it. Thankfully our house in Missouri had not sold yet so we were able to move back into it. My parents struggled to find jobs again, and for almost a year we lived off of the donations given to us by

For example, infants who are born into poverty have a low birth weight, and they grow up with mental or physical disabilities. Not only are they sick, but they are most likely to die before their first birthday. Children who are raised in poverty might miss school often because of their illnesses, and they have a much higher accident rate than the other children. Nearly a billion of the world’s population can’t read nor write. Poor families experience stress much more than a normal family does. They are more likely to be exposed to negative events such as illness, job loss, death of a family member, and depression. Homelessness is another effect of poverty. Homeless children are less likely to receive proper nutrition, protection and they experience more health problems. Around 1.4 million children die each year from lack of access to safe and clean water and proper nutrition. Homeless women experience a high rate of low birth weight infants as well as miscarriages. Families who do not have homes receive much more stress than other families. They also have disruption in school, work, friendships, and family relationships. There are other effects of poverty such as drug abuse and addiction, child and woman abuse, debts pressure, and increase in crimes.
