Global warming must stop before it makes the Earth uninhabitable that is caused by humanity. The world is becoming dangerous because of greenhouse effect which traps solar energy in amounts that provides temperatures adequate to sustain life, and it is caused by C02(Gas) that occurs naturally and is produced by the burning of fossil fuels (most notably in cars and other vehicles) and deforestation. An quote that that supports this evidence is that in “An Overview of Global Warming” by one of the authors in Ebscohost, it said “Most scientists also agree that global warming is the result of human activity” and “Human activity increases the amount of these gases in the atmosphere and, as a result of the greenhouse effect, increases the earth's
First of all, the main effect of global warming is the fact that it causes warmer temperatures. While warmer temperatures may seem beneficial and good, the ways the atmosphere is becoming warmer isn’t that great. According to the article, Global warming, it states, “Natural processes on Earth constantly create and destroy greenhouse gases.” “Human activities, such as the burning of fossil fuels, add an extra seven billion metric tons per year” (“Global Warming”). To explain, what this shows is that nature is already creating greenhouse gasses and people are adding even more to the atmosphere. While people strive on greenhouse gasses for warmth, the amount of greenhouse gasses forming will cause numerous environmental hazards in the future.
We might disagree on the causes of global warming; however, we cannot ignore that it is happening. Although we still experience cold winters, average global temperatures has risen drastically for the past three decades. Polar ice caps are melting; as a result, sea levels are rising. Scientist predict more extreme weather in the coming decades, in fact, droughts will probably be more common. Also, flooding and tropical temperatures might cause large amounts of methane gases to be released, which could be disastrous for our atmosphere. Climate change may have human causes and also it might be a natural occurrence. Nevertheless, we must find ways to save our planet.
Global warming is the increase in the earth's temperature caused by the buildup of greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and methane) in the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases prevent infrared radiation from escaping into space, and this greenhouse effect maintains the earth's warm temperature. Increasing levels of greenhouse gases, resulting from industry and the burning of fossil fuels, may result in rising global temperatures, causing coastal flooding and major climatic changes. According to the British Meteorological Office, 1995 was the warmest year on record and global temperatures continued to rise. A United Nations panel of scientists has predicted that if greenhouse gas emissions are not reduced, the average global temperature could rise by 1° to 3.5° C (1.8° to 6.3° F) by the year 2100.
Globally, cancer is one of the leading causes of death (Fitzmaurice et al., 2015; WHO, 2012). It is continue to consider as a pandemic disease, take into account it's increasingly prevalence rate worldwide (Jacox, Daniel & Payne, 1994; American Cancer Society, 2015).
Global warming is not just something that will happen, it’s something that is happening. People around the world are trying to fix what the human race has done to our planet. The damage is reaching a point that stopping air pollution and other atmospheric harmful things won’t be enough. Countries need to pull together whatever resources they can to do whatever they can. Earth is like our food source it feeds us, but you don’t bite the hand that feeds you.
Indeed, if we accept the danger of global warming to be a real and present one, then the question of how to address it must be given serious consideration. Research conducted from as early as the 1950s through the present has afforded us a solid understanding of its causes. In the most basic sense, the problem lies in the burning of carbon-based fossil fuels such as carbon and oil which leads to the emission of carbon dioxide (CO2). Gases such as CO2 are referred to as greenhouse gases (GHGs) which accumulate in the atmosphere. GHGs can
If our earth is filling with heavenly things, then it would be located in the South Pacific ocean like an archipelago island known as Vanuatu. The European civilization began to settle down here, seems to be the symbolic representation of the happiest place on the earth. It is consists of a y-shaped place, contain four main islands and eighty smaller islands around
Global warming is happening now, and will keep on happening until we choose to stop it. The future of our planet is in our hands. If we don’t stop it now, any life on earth could potentially be whipped out. Some ways that you can make a difference is by, recycling, using less heat and air conditioning, driving less, buying energy-efficient products, using less hot water, and planting a
When Bruce Tuckman proposed the model of group development in 1965, the model assumed four stages which include forming-storming-norming-performing stages. However, a fifth model was introduced to encapsulate the already functioning models and this model became known as the adjourning phase (Bauer & Erdogan, 2009, p. 191). This group development stages will now be described below:
Methane, nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide, and water vapor are four of the main gasses that are contributing to global warming and the greenhouse effect. Humans, yes humans, are one of the principal reasons for this. Two of the most obvious human activities that contribute to global warming are the burning of fossil fuels and clearing forests. While I am aware that there are regulations for both of these issues, I often wonder, will it be too late? If we as people, a state, and a country do not act immediately and efficiently, future generations will ultimately suffer from our actions and lack of
The real issue is how fast this climate change is actually happening which makes it difficult and causes problems for civilization to survive (Mosaddeq, N., 2011). Furthermore, there are other factors such as fossil fuels and the sun that are speeding up climate change (Mosaddeq, N., 2011). To fix this, policy makers have agreed to limit how much fossil fuels we emit to the atmosphere (Mosaddeq, N., 2011). They suggested that the world emits 450 parts per million of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere, then by 2050 the temperature would only increases by 2 degrees (Mosaddeq, N., 2011). If by that time it is able to be stabilized, the worst effects of climate change will be avoided (Mosaddeq, N., 2011). However, this is very unlikely, James Hanson who was part of NASA did his own calculations to prove the policy makers wrong (Mosaddeq, N., 2011). He calculated that it should be 350 parts per
Global Warming will continue to be a monstrous problem to be dealt with, when thinking of the future what needs to be considered is how long can the Earth keep sustaining life with little to no change. Change cannot happen overnight but, with nations working together to fix a common goal it is possible to put in motion a considerable change that will benefit the generations to come. Global warming cannot keep being put off, the risks are to great to ignore anymore, it is everyone’s problem therefore, it takes everyone to make the situation okay. Scientists need to keep raising awareness to get people to jump into action, the quicker the better. Politicians like Al Gore need to be more involved in the truth and facts surrounding climate change
Second of all, global warming has caused the ozone layer to start to break. The ozone layer is a layer that absorbs the rays of the sun. There is a very big hole in the ozone layer. The breaking of the ozone layer has caused the suns rays to come down at the humans very sharp. The hole in the ozone layer lets the UV enter the atmosphere; it can cause skin cancer, general cancer in addition to many more diseases to humans. There’s a list of things humans can do to help reduce global warming including; plant a tree, carpool, take a shower instead of a bath, use less hot water, use less hot water there is a lot more to this list.
Global warming has a lot of causes and effects throughout the globe, including: icecaps melting, deforestation, carbon emissions, factory smoke, forest fires, coral reefs dying, and extreme weather catastrophes. All of these causes and effects listed can be prevented if only the population of people who do not believe it is real would start caring about the environment and what we release into the atmosphere.
Although some believe that Global Warming has been created due to manmade pollutants, I believe that Global Warming is a natural process that has been accelerated due to the excess emissions of pollutants from nature and manmade devices into the atmosphere. The world has been said to be on a cycle of global warming and cooling, this process can neither be stopped nor prevented, but it can be accelerated with the addition of non-natural emissions from automobiles and factories; because this is a natural process, even if constraints were to be put on the amount of pollutants released into the air global warming could not be prevented—it could only be slowed. When the inevitable happens and global warming occurs, there are many
