Astronomer According to Socrates, a famous philosopher from Athens, Greece, "Man must rise above the Earth—to the top of the atmosphere and beyond—for only thus will he fully understand the world in which he lives." Socrates believes that astronomy can help other people understand the world better. Astronomy is the study of space, and in order for someone to to be an astronomer, they have to learn a lot of math and science and be good at it. Astronomy is not a big science field either, but there are a lot of different people employing for it. Astronomy helps people understand the world and that they are not the most important part of it, and that they are just a small part of it. Astronomers have a lot they need to do because of their jobs. They have to study the origins of the universe and what happens in space (“Physicists and Astronomers”). One thing they have to watch for in space, is to watch out for comets that could possibly hit Earth. If they do not see a comet, they can put many people at risk. If a large comet hits earth, it can end up changing the climate a little. Astronomers do not look through telescopes to do this though. They mostly view space through pictures the telescopes send to computers, and when they have to view at computers for a long time, their eyes can end up strained (“Astronomer”). Because of how much work they have to do, they have to be able to concentrate well, for longer periods of time. Some other things they need to be able to do are

Do you want to know more about the universe, but dont have the time to actually pursue a detailed study? Then Astrophysics for People in a Hurry is exactly the book for you. The book describes the origins of the universe, delves deep into how it functions, and discusses different concepts of physics. Tyson tries to explain these concepts in the most simplified manner with a lot of humor. He also leaves us with not just a better sense of understanding of the universe, but also many questions about how to relate with the infinite cosmos with our own human and limited understanding.
1. The earth’s sun is a star, it generates heat and light through nuclear fusion.
The craving of knowledge is something that has shaped the human race to what it is today. As humans, it's a necessity to have something to kindle a person’s flame of curiosity. Since the beginning of time, the world has always gazed up into the sky on a starry night and asked “what there is out there; what made this stunning view?”, “How immense is this vast expansion of space?”. These inquiries could be answered now that humans are capable of space exploration with the mechanization NASA and other space agencies have now, and will possibly take advantage of in upcoming years. The use of the stars has been very beneficial to humans, whether it’s navigation, religion, or something to spark the imaginations of many. The technology that astronauts
Hello! My name is Coty Huneau, I am going to be a student in your Tuesday/Thursday class from 9:40-11:00 am starting in the winter semester. I have a strong interest in Astrophysics and Astronomy. I have a big interest in Join Astronomy club. I would like some information on it.
Astronomy, is for me, why we are even here at all. As humans [and wizards], we owe our lives to discovering our own universe and beyond, it is our utmost dedication that we discover facts and information on everything around us. People have dedicated months, years, to discovering what truly makes us part of the universe, we have achieved and advanced so much just by studying our stars, our solar system and our neighbouring planets.
In 469 B.C. a man by the name of Socrates was born. Socrates was a very wise man that cared about doing the right thing. He believed that the best ways to develop ideas was in the give and take of conversation, and that the best way to educate people was to ask them a series of questions leading in a particular direction (now named “Socrates method). Socrates had been quick to identify the drawbacks of democracy, and he had also been the teacher of two men who in different ways harmed Athens: Alcibiades and Critias. Which made the parents of the children that Socrates had taught very upset and angry. Granting all this, it lead to the Trial of Socrates 399 B.C. During this trial Socrates expressed his view of death by using his question-and-answer method, for which he was famous for and what seemed to have gotten him in trouble. Socrates did not write so we have to depend on on what others wrote, and by doing that we now get to see the diverse ways people read and understand what was written about his speech. My chosen primary source, Socrates View on Death, is important, because it gives one view of Socrates speech while my outside source, Ancient Greece, gives a slightly more in depth view.
Astronomy is the oldest of the natural sciences, dating back to antiquity, with its origins in the religious, mythological, and astrological practices of pre-history: vestiges of these are still found in astrology, a discipline long interwoven with public and governmental astronomy, and not completely disentangled from it until a few centuries ago in the Western World . In some cultures astronomical data was used for astrological prognostication.
Socrates is believed to be one of the greatest philosophers of all time and he is credited as being the founder of western philosophy. This paper will explain some of his views to the most fundamental questions of today’s age. These questions will include topics about morality, the human condition, solution, and death. After Socrates’ views on these topics are explained, a critique will be done on his answers. I will start out by explaining exactly who Socrates is, and the time that he lived in. To start out, we will first examine Socrates’ view on morality.
The solar system was created 4.6 billion years ago by a gravitational collapse. A solar system is a star that has planets, moons, asteroids, comets, and meteoroids travel around it. The solar system contains eight known planets which are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune. There is around several hundred dwarf plants but only five are currently recognized. The solar system has about 181 moons which orbit around the planets in the solar system. There is also about 150 million asteroids and 3,406 comets also in the solar system.
Although I am undecided, I have demonstrated an interest in astronomy because I find the mysteriousness of outer space to be absolutely fascinating. Because I have always lived in Los Angeles I have never really had the pleasure of seeing a night sky full of stars, but after a camping trip I finally saw the stars and fell in love them. Although I am fascinated with outer space, I do not think that I would ever want to go to outer space since I am terrified with what may be out there, and how it seems to be never ending. Despite this I would still like to study the stars and everything else that is in outer space since it has the capability to provide insight as to how the human race can survive for millions of more years. Additionally, the possibility of there being another planet where life exists, like in Star Wars, is something that would love to discover.
The telescope is an optical instrument designed to make distant objects appear nearer. It contains an arrangement of lenses or mirrors or both that gathers visible light, permitting direct observation or photographic recording of distant objects. (Lacki, B. C. 2011). With the use of telescopes we have been able to learn a lot more about the planets in our universe. It has helped us understand about some of the history of everything around us. Also it has been able to track asteroids and comets or any randomly flying objet in outer space that might become threatening to our planet.
Astronomers study the planets, stars, and other celestial objects to try to understand how the universe works. They also study things like collisions, black holes and other things that could potentially affect earth. Astronomers gain information about objects in space from telescopes, and satellites. They can also use mathematical equations to find the positions of planets and stars in our universe. These telescopes and satellites observe light reflected by things such as planets, meteors, or stars in space and use it to make observations. Then the Astronomers job is to collect and analyze the data observed.

Over the course of this past semester, my ability to write has improved tremendously. Prior to undertaking this course, my expertise in writing was not as fine-tuned as it should have been. I had never previously been enrolled in a class specifically tailored to writing-- which was quite clear. Upon reading my past works, it becomes apparent that my writing style consisted of fluff, small words, and inconsistently structured sentences. These problems have, for the most part, been remedied with the coursework I have tackled in College Writing. Rather than long, drawn out papers that take an eternity to reach the primary point, my recent work is much nicer in terms of composition and grammar. I credit these improvements to the three primary
