For my vacation, my family has chosen to go to Venus. This our first year traveling outside of earth so we chose a planet close. Venus is covered with a thick layer of sulfuric acid which will be a blast to land into but on the inside Venus is solid. Venus shines super bright and has orangish yellow tint. The overall look of Venus is dreary and the gas covers the area with a goldish hue and everything looks like gunmetal. Venus is VERY hot, it temperature reaches to about 870 degrees Fahrenheit! On top of the scorching heat the Atmospheric pressure is bone crushing and highly dense.Venus is about 0.72 light years away from the Sun and blank light years from Earth. Throughout recorded history there had only been seven known objects in our solar system. These seven planets were the sun, the earth's moon, earth, and four other objects. Uranus had not been discovered as a planet but was categorized or labelled as a star by numerous people.

Venus, like Earth, once had a moon. Unlike Earth, however, Venus' moon was positioned closer, and instead of slowly drifting outwards, it moved in towards Venus until in began disintegrating into its atmosphere and literally rained down upon its surface. This bombardment causes catastrophic damage to Venus' crust and lithosphere, allowing for excess heat to radiate outwards. The force of the impacts created their own heat as well. As the moon drifted inward and disintegrated, Venus' rotation became slowed, weakening its magnetic field, adding further to the planet's rise in temperature, as it could not protect itself against the sun. Eventually, temperatures rose so high that the oceans evaporated along with other minerals, creating the thick smog that encases Venus today. This friction caused by this dense atmosphere slowed the planet further and even caused a reverse in rotation. During this period, Venus' magma was released to the surface, covering the damage of its fallen moon.

The atmosphere is so dense that it is the equivalent of being under the sea at about half a mile. Venus also has one of the strongest greenhouse effect of any planet in the solar system due to the large presence of carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide.
