The areas the interview will consist of are to include physical, cognitive, and social/emotional development of her early adulthood. Her first statement was that we all have one thing in life that we always wanted to do but found that we did not actually have the chance or the guts to do it. She has seen others do it and wonder if it would be possible for her to do. She missed the transition from …show more content…
She gets up goes to school, drop her son off at daycare because she only has the last child and his father is in jail. She does not know the father of her first child whom was conceived in her teen years. She continues to go to school because she is paid through her dad VA program. Asked Tierra what she wanted to do with his life she stated she wants someone to love her for her and all her faults, she really wants to raise her two boys in a nice home, have a means to support them and most of all change her philandering ways. Her moral development has changed from when she was in her adolescence. Although she feels most of the things she is doing is wrong she states that her life is so complex that at this moment it is about needs. As an adult, there should be more flexibility in her thought patterns, and rational approaches to her issues or problems. Observation shows that there is a lack of psychological development, she has chronic stress resulting from economic hardships, childhood issues not resolved, and seeking fulfillment from others instead of

Sequences of development are the order in which children develop; all children follow the same sequence of development but at different rates.
The Child Study data I have gathered comes from the observation I have completed at Mission Bell Elementary School. Mission Bell Elementary School is a local school in Riverside. In the P.M preschool class there are 24 students, one teacher, and one assistant. The child I decided to observe is names Zoe. Zoe is 4 years and 10 months old. I immediately was drawn to Zoe because she had such a big personality, was very social, and smart. I am glad that I choose to observe Zoe because she was able to make my observation process smooth and easy. While observing her I had to pay close attention to her biosocial development, motor skills, cognitive skills, communication skills,
Overall, there is an obvious feeling of disempowered regarding her right and or ability to make life decisions. She comes from a close-knit family, though some of her siblings have moved away to seek out goals beyond those that they may feel their parents are putting upon them. She has recently begun to
My dad, because he has a good job and he can be lazy whenever he wants to and he gets to buy whatever he wants.
SSCM Gilmore made an unannounced visit to Martinez Elementary School to conduct an interview with Madison Williams. The interview included school counselor Tamara Mathis, Madison Williams, and SSCM Gilmore. Madison is a 4th grader at the elementary school, with no known behavioral issues in class. She is known to be on time for school every day. Ms. Mathis reported that last year she was in her office a lot discussing the illness of her mother. Madison reported that she is aware what inappropriate touching is, and who she can talk to if someone touches her in bad areas. Madison reported that no one has touched her in a bad area. She reported that she would tell her mother or the Ms. Mathis of who touched her in the bad areas. She reported
Celeste mentions how she is learning to function on less sleep and is getting used to having no free time. I think their hearts are in the right place, and there is no doubt in my mind that they will be good parents, but like a lot of new parents in today’s society, they are stuck finding time to raise a kid while also working full time jobs. I think the next few years will be difficult but crucial for them as parents. Some things will get easier for them, while others will get more difficult. For example, for Celeste it is easier to figure out what’s wrong with AJ. She said a year ago if he was crying I would worry and have to guess why he’s crying. Now I know usually what’s making him cry and if I don’t he can usually at least tell
Throughout the ECCE 1101 Introduction to Early Childhood course at Savannah Technical College there were several theorists introduced in the course that had a major impact on molding the foundation for an understanding of early childhood as a whole. Although the scope covered a broad spectrum of early childhood, majority of the main focus was on early education. The work of Lev Vygotsky greatly influenced the field of early education. This paper will include a brief summary of Vygotsky’s life, a description of his major ideas, and how those ideas impact early education today.
During my observation at the preschool here at Harper, I looked around and realized a lot of similarities and differences it has; compared to other daycare and preschool centers. The age of children in the room I observed was ages 3-5 with one lead teacher, and depending on the ratio of how many kids showed up on that day, about three or four helping teachers. The program was set up to a very open, happy and overwhelming setting. Every furniture and object in the room had a sign saying what it was, and then underneath the typed out word was the children’s way of writing what the object was. For example, a book shelf was in the corner of the room; on the book shelf was the word printed out “Book
The first person I interviewed was my cousin Chloe. I was very shocked at what I found with her answers. I have always thought she was somewhat immature, but her answers said otherwise. One question I asked her was what the biggest accomplishment she has had was. Her answer, “getting straight A’s through all of elementary school and most of middle
The early childhood years are crucial to a child’s development of skills necessary for success in school and in life. Data indicates that expulsion and suspension occurs in preschool at an alarming rate, and racial and gender disparities are of evident (U. S. Department of Health and Human Services, and U.S. Department of Education, 2014). Asking a family to remove a child from a school or program, can produce lasting, negative effects for the child, as well as for the family. Expulsion should only be a consideration after all interventions have been attempted without success, and in consultation with outside professionals and the family (Lamont, 2013).
The purpose of this assignment is to closely observe the development of a child through an interview and apply the theories and concept of child development in his particular cultural and educational context. I selected the child who lives in my neighborhood for the interview and began with seeking the permission from his parents. The child’s name is ‘Abdullah’ and he is seven years old. He lives with his family in Terre Haute and his family consists of parents and two sisters. Abdullah goes to Sugar Grove Elementary School in the Terre Haute city along with his two sisters and he is in grade 2. The interview was conducted at his home and I ensured his convenience. He was cooperative and provided insightful responses to the questions and he provided significant detail in the interview. I was able to track his development stages and connect it to different theories of Developmental Psychology including psychoanalytical perspectives and Piaget’s stages of development. In the following paragraphs, I will explain my observations about Abdullah’s development in the light of developmental theories with special focus on cognitive, social, linguistic, and emotional development followed by making connections between his socioeconomic and cultural background and development. Lastly, I will conclude paper by highlighting that the observations during the interview can facilitate my future practice as a teacher.
The education of the young mind is an important step in preparing the child for future learning experiences. The evolution of early childhood education has changed how adults and parents view the importance of offering stimulating and exciting opportunities to the very young. Early childhood Education offers the young child learning experiences that benefit them throughout their educational career. They soon embark on a whole new world of learning. These children are not only experiencing standard brain growth, but verbal and physical skills as well. Early childhood education teachers use a variation of techniques for instructing. They use lesson plans, worksheets, and even teacher resources for these young minds.
The Early Development and Learning program follows the Early Childhood Education program with the exception of the student teaching experience. Early development and learning majors take part in an internship. Students of this major are not eligible for teaching certification.
