As an IT help desk personnel I provide support and assistance with equipment and software used in computer labs, classes and employee offices. This responsibility requires me to provide technical support to the college community in an efficient and accurate manner. I am considered as the college front liner who will solve basic technical problems and provide support. Working as an IT help desk personnel has given me an insight into my major in college that I wouldn’t have had otherwise. Having a solid foundation of IT basics has increased my understanding for more advanced topics within my major.

In pursuing my ELL endorsement, I found it to be very beneficial to interview current ELL teachers. They shared their insight and expertise in this field. I interviewed the middle school ELL teacher at my school, an upper-elementary ELL teacher and early-elementary teacher in my district. I asked twelve questions that pertained to their experience teaching ELL. These responses are valuable to future ELL teachers and general education teachers who teach ELL in their classrooms.

In this article, the authors examine the challenges of working with English Language learners with learning disabilities. The article begins with a dilemma that many educators face daily, being able to meet the needs of all students in a classroom. The article identifies the characteristics of LD students, issues ELL students face learning a second language and the cultural context for teaching and learning. The next part of the article offers a framework that addresses the educational needs of students based on their language, disability and culture. It focuses on how general and special educators along with the ELL teacher can effectively collaborate together to meet the needs of all learners.
Since finding my desire to teach, my son and I have joined our local playcentre where in my spare time, I am working through the education courses they have to offer. I have also acquired a voluntary office position within the committee.
My senior year AP English teacher is well known throughout the school for being the hardest grading teacher there is. An argumentative research paper comprises a significant part of our grade. Although he assigned us the research paper at the beginning of the year, most people procrastinated until it was due in two weeks. I along with handful of people had finished and turned it in two weeks before the due date. My teacher quickly reviewed my essay and said to the class that I had written a good paper. This prompted a wake-up call for the whole entire class. Word spread, and I found myself surrounded by many people who desperately needed my help.
The United States has become a culturally diverse Nation due to the enormous of various ethnic and cultural groups that migrate to the country each day. As a result, patients and families with limited English proficiency (LEP) often are faced with multitude barriers that contribute to difficulty accessing healthcare services as well as understanding and adhering to the treatment plans/recommendations which ultimately place them at increased risk for poorer health outcomes and disparities. It has been estimated that by the year 2025, approximately one out of every public school student will be identified as an ESL/ELL student in the United States. ESL stands for English as a Second Language and ELL stands for English Language Learner. An ESL/ELL student can be defined as a student whose predominant language or languages at home, is other than English, and would require additional English language support to develop reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. The difference between an ESL student and ELL student is minor; An ESL student participates in programs that are customarily specialized while an ELL student partakes in a traditional educational classroom. English Language Learners have surpassed other subgroups in becoming the fastest growing of the public school population. Despite the common misjudgement of some people towards the ESL/ELL population, 76% of the ESL/ELL students in elementary schools and 56% of the ESL/ELL students in secondary schools are native-born. The highest percentages of ELL/ESL students in public schools are found in the west of the United States. Taking the average of both bigger and smaller cities, ELL students make an average of 14% of the total public school enrollment and in suburban areas, ELL students make up an average of 8.5% of public school enrollment. It is a good tool for faculty members to conduct information and deliver messages to all the students. It includes all the necessary catalogs, such as self-service, community, and career development. Right now, our college has more than 2000 active independent users. The senior team needs to work with the IT department to maintain or update the system.
Over the past 15 years, the number of ELL and ESL students has rapidly increased to nearly 5 million. These students come in significantly below those of their peers in nearly every aspect of academic performance. In order to ensure that these students’ needs are being met, you must have a significant amount of coordination and collaboration throughout the educational system. Under the law, each school district must show that the entire student body as a whole is meeting the same academic standards. These subgroups (ESL and ELL students) must be meeting the state proficiency goal as well.
In the book Speak, we have been introduced to 4 teachers as of now, Mr.Freeman Mr.Neck Hairwoman and the Spanish teacher. Hairwoman reminds of a very happy on the outside and depressed on the inside kind of person. She has orange and black hair, she is kind of drooping about, you can’t see her face because of all of her hair. I imagine her to be pushing her students and making them do lots of unnecessary work. Mr.Neck, this teacher already doesn’t like our main character, he seems like a teacher only liked by few. The good kids who did their work. He seems very stingy not the kind of teacher that you would want to be angry at you, he works for lunch duty, and looks like he would avoid connecting to students that do not like his opinions. Mr.
After struggling with the department of education and guiding my son through the right path, I decided to become a paraprofessional for children with special needs. I absolutely love my job. Being able to help other children by accommodating their needs is a true blessing. Providing children with the tools necessary so they can accomplish given goals and expectations according to their specific needs makes me feel like a successful assistance. I have learned to be patient, understandable and resourceful for both children and families in my classroom.
I propose to you a case study on a pre-kindergarten English language learning student through qualitative research. My goal was to find out if he faces any problems with regards to his behavior, academic progress and attitudes towards his teachers, classmates and parents. His name is David and just recently came to the United States from Russia about two years ago. He has a complicated time understanding what goes on in his environment because of the language barrier. The one positive aspect for David is that my assistant in the class is Russian as well. Even though he has a hardship speaking the English language and understanding his peers, my assistant helps translate words from Russian to English for him and vice versa.
English Language Learner teachers are incredibly important in the education world. ELL teachers work with students who are learning how to read, write, and speak in English. This can be a difficult task but there are many ways that an ELL teacher can help the child. On YouTube I found one ELL teacher that has a Russian-speaking student that can only say a couple of words in English.

I hold a doctor of philosophy in Foreign, Second, and Multilingual Language Education (within the TESOL program) with an interdisciplinary specialization in Educational Technology.
