Isimemen D. Ihien EDEL 320 AN ANALYSIS OF PERSONALITY TRAITS AND SKILLS An enthusiastic teacher can easily motivate students to learn because of the passion and drive he/she brings to the class. Such a teacher is also warm and humorous, which students will find encouraging. That might make them want to go the extra mile because the teacher is supportive of them through the feedbacks and scaffoldings he/she gives. However, students often relate much better to their teachers when they believe that he/she is credible, is concerned about their success and has high expectations from them. Students also have high expectation from their teachers and to meet these high expectations, teachers need to be knowledgeable about their content area and be efficient in the way they run their classes. Being businesslike is important because it helps a teacher to have good …show more content…
I teach a foreign language to beginning learners and I need to use a lot of gestures and dramatization to help students understand what I’m trying to pass across. However, I do see that my ability to be clear still needs a lot of work. I also need to work on how I use instructional time and more importantly on providing transitions between activities because while teaching I usually feel that my transitions are not good enough. If I cannot transition well my students will not be able to understand how the activities build off one another. Of concern to me is also monitoring of my students. I need them to actively involved in monitoring their progress and finding out from them where they most need help. I want them to take an active part in the learning process and I cannot do it alone. If I can get them to be invested in the learning process they might be able to help me to be a better teacher, who plans her lessons so that they are structured to meet students’ need and take them to the next
For example, If you are selling a product that is a normal good with a high rate of competition in the market, raising the price could have negative effects on overall profits because users will simply find another substitute somewhere. Charles stated that market separation may come into play when firms realize there are differing elasticity curves for different consumers of the same product. Firms can maximize profits by evaluating consumer segments within a single market. If the firm notices different demand elasticity for different segments it may opt to engage in price discrimination to maximize profits. Charles gave Microsoft Office as an example; the same software is offered to students, casual users and business users at different price
The first step that I would take is to act immediately. I will report the event to all necessary parties including my insurance broker, insurance companies, professionals to assess damage and provide estimates for repair, legal counsel, business accountant. I will try and obtain all the copies of paperwork that is completed.
The United States has spent so much money on the military that they have not taken much consideration into much else. This could put the United States into debt.
According to the Week 2 Case Study, my company uses Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome as it primary browser. I am charged with setting a policy on how to secure these browsers as much as possible.
A supportive learning environment should be purposeful and task orientated, where the tutor emphasises the need to progress steadily. This can be done by starting lessons promptly, creating a smooth flow to the lesson, involving pupils and monitoring their progression and organisation. A positive effort should be made to ensure pupils have or build on self-respect and esteem by setting realistic opportunities for success and helpful support and encouragement whenever difficulties arise.
This creates a budget deficit because there is more being spent than what’s being brought it.
Over the past two weeks I have researched various scholarly journal entries and various articles. I was able to find ways for SHLD to increase their bargaining power. This includes introducing additional private labeled products. SHLD already provides private label products, but allowing additional private labeled products can yield higher profit margins. Furthermore, I researched both the importance of an accurate mission statement and the benefits of surveying clientele. After researching how effective a mission statement can be towards an organization, I began to focus on how to modify SHLD’s mission statement. The modification will keep SHLD on a path to success
Week 2 has been quite overwhelming. I did not have enough time to do my reading assignments over the weekend. I normally utilize Saturday and Sunday to do my research work and reading. Unfortunately, on Saturday morning, I attended a meeting that took half of the day, when I returned home my husband informed that he had invited our friends over for dinner as they will be leaving for Melbourne the following day. My house was a mess as it hadn't been cleaned the previous weekend when we were away. Thus, my whole Saturday was wasted on doing the trivial aspects of life. I missed church on Sunday so that I can catch up on my work and everything went well thereafter. I managed to complete my tasks. I found that a lot of students were divided when it came answering the forum discussion assignment on what would happen to bond prices if terrorism ended and countries adopted free trade. What's you take on this one?
A survey was conducted at Texas A&M University in which the “Big Five” traits of Psychology were measured. The focus of the research is to use descriptive statistics to determine the average personality across the Texas A&M University student body and compare the results to the average personality across the University of Texas student body. Descriptive statistics describes the data that the researcher is analyzing in terms of the average and variability of the sample. Two types of descriptive statistics exist to describe the data: central tendency and variability. Central tendency describes the average of a sample by interpreting the mean, median, and mode. Variability describes the difference in the set of scores through the interpretation of standard deviation, variance, and range.
Slowing down and being less nervous teaching sections. I know how to teach the material and to do it efficiently but I need to doubt myself less.
My area of refinement was pacing. I addressed this area of concern by continuously practicing purposeful pacing in my instruction and knowing my next moves. I consistently question myself in my lesson planning and on instructional decisions that influence my pacing, to make sure my goals are clear, and that my learners knew exactly what they are learning and doing each day. My students will be prepared for the fast-pace of 5th grade and so forth after having become accustomed to the diligent pace of fourth grade.
Another point that makes a good teacher would be his/her patience. Teachers should not get upset or even worse, give up on the students who are not so strong in their studies. Instead, they should have the patience to slowly coach them, give them extra lessons, and find different ways to encourage them. Let them know that the teacher
During my observation time in a kindergarten classroom, I have noticed that the students have a wide variety of abilities, attention spans, interests, and love for learning. When it comes to the teacher’s instructional strategies, she intentionally takes into consideration all of the above characteristics to make sure each student gets what they need to be most successful. During lessons students are engaged because of the teacher’s ability to implement interests of the student’s into things and giving them options. If an error occurs during a lesson, the teacher normally, allows for the student who got something wrong to try again, or to call on a friend to help them out. This way the students are still giving the answers and not the teacher just telling them the information. The teacher chooses a lot of small group instruction and centers where she can work with a small group, but then, easily monitor all the other groups to make sure they are on task and doing their work.

A good teacher is someone who can adapt their teaching style to every type of learner and make learning a fun and engaging experience. To do this, a desire to teach is necessary as it provides the motivation necessary to put effort into what you do. I do not know if I will be a good teacher someday. As of now I have very little teaching experience and much to learn. I do find the teaching profession to be enjoyable and I have the desire to be a great teacher. My hope is that this motivation will lead me down the correct path into becoming a great teacher someday. “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” (William Ward)
