Anthem Essay Anthem is written by Ayn Rand and is about a man named Equality 7-2521 breaking away from the dystopian government in the new peaceful world they live in. Equality is different from everybody, physically and mentally. He is very handsome, strong, and more fit then everybody in his population. The council which serves as the government has many rules and control over the people. All of the rules exist to serve society and a purpose but are not useful for the world of mortality.
