As a Dynamic Learner, you have done an excellent job at planning out your assignments and posting required discussions, post, and assignments on time. Dan could learn a lot from how you apply your learning patterns to your course work. He had taken notes, but had missed placed them. Organization is a part of sequencing. There is time to be with family and have a social life, but there has to be a balance for work, play, and coursework. Sequence learning pattern also implies working an assignment from the beginning to the end.
With differentiation in mind, I came up with a daily schedule of learning and instruction time for my students. Entry 4 artifact 3 is a copy of my daily schedule and lesson plan format for instructing my students. I begin my day of learning using whole group instruction with a whole group instruction reviewing the calendar, music/movement activity, and read aloud. During these activities, I ask the students question based upon their ability and grade level. The students are really engaged during our introduction. They get to move and meditate to reflect on their day.
The first time I went to observation I was in his final period of the day. This class had around twenty-five to thirty students in this class. His final class is his AP English class. During this day their first assignment for the class was a writing assignment to help prepare them for the AP exams. Using this authentic activity will help the students prepare for this upcoming exam. While the students were writing their responses, John Dolphin explained to me that at first he had an outline which the students had to follow, but know they write their responses all on their own. This scaffolding made the students more independent on what they had to write about since he kept taking away more and more directions (Ormrod 2014). He explained that at first he wanted to have them write the
2. My actual score had me ranging from high to low - Initiator (thirteen), Encourager (eight), Gatekeeper and Summarizer (seven), and Harmonizer (six).
This week I learned about differe\irente instruction. I also learn how to implement a lesson plan to meet the needs for each students in the classroom. Each child learning style is different one child might understand the problem one way and then another child might solve the problem a whole different way. I learned about exceptional children and how they need intensive learning and individualize learning. That why it is important to observe and know each individual child so you can support them to the bset of their ability. My host teacher used different strategies to help the students understand the problem. When I did my lesson plan if was a challenge and time consumer.I likle how the lesson plan met the needs of the children. The teacher put the students in different groups so they acn help each other learn. Sometimes children learn best and better from other children. My host teachger explain to me that

Upon reflection of the FYE 105 course material from this semester I realized there have been many techniques I have been able to improve or learn new strategies for academic success in the pursuit of lifelong learning. After being out of a traditional school for over twenty years, my academic success strategy began with obtaining a rhythm of life and school. Once I developed and implemented a good personal time management routine that allowed ample time for the many competing activities life brings, I was on course for success in achieving my goals. One aspect of this class that had a significant impact on my academic success was modifying the way I took notes to include all essential information in an easy to read and review format. I will be able to use the notetaking and time management techniques I have learned this semester in not only all future courses but in any environment requiring detailed notes and strict time management to ensure success.
learning enough in school due to the lack of organization in the curriculum. He discusses the
She is not only being ruled by her sequence, but she is also allowing it to dictate her overall success. She scored high in both sequence and precision, therefore she needs to let the two she avoids balance her out in critical reading and writing. When reading her text, I think taking little notes of each section to help summarize each paragraph working the technical reasoning. If she follow technical reasoning strategy, it will lead her to use confluence to get the "Big Picture". On the other hand, when Makayla is doing critical writing, she will need to sort the information out by using sticky-notes or an outline to help her focus on important facts and not so much on details. Makayla could pick out three to four important
I enjoyed reading your detailed discussion. The description you gave of your job was very thorough, which helped me better understand exactly what a daycare supervisor's daily responsibilities are. I can see how important your confluence and technical reasoning patterns are in your job. Although you use sequence for the more tedious paperwork, I believe it is important to intensify and forge those patterns and use them just as much as you do the others. My job as a CNA requires technical reasoning which I avoid, but overtime became second nature to me. I hope this course was as beneficial to you as it was to me, and helped you have a better understanding of how you learn.
I believe each student possesses the aptitude for fishing, but likely isn’t going to be an instant success reading instructions in a book. Education has come a long way, and no longer is memorization and recitation considered best practice. Consequently, it is important for the educator to provide students with diverse methods to learn and demonstrate competency. Technology is altering the face of education, making opportunities for active learning easier than ever before. Teaching a new skill might involve watching a video, discussing course content in an electronic forum with other learners across the globe or even participating in simulated learning experiences.
Great realization that Dan's sequence is a use first, yet he is not performing at that level. This shows that just because someone is capable of successful, they may not take the actions to make it become a reality. Dan does have an "as needed" precision score which may contribute to his lack of accuracy and correct actions for completing assignments.
On day one I begun the process of creating a predictable learning environment by establishing our policies and procedures several different ways; verbally, in written form via the syllabus, with visual reminders posted about the room and by good old roll playing.
Having high technical reasoning and confluence learning patterns are what shaped decisions and tendencies in this class; procrastinating and being late with assignments started early in the course. Learning how to “FIT” my patterns together is a new concept which was difficult to introduce not only in my college course but in my daily life as well. Forging, Intensifying or Tethering my learning patterns are a continual activity and now that I have begun to understand how to decode a task, it will enable me to recognize the learning patterns to use, strengthen and reduce.
My learner scenario is about Dan. Dan was a procrastinator and he did not prioritize his class work. Not only did he procrastinate, but he also doubted himself after receiving feedback from a previous assignment. In my opinion the first thing Dan can do to be successful is he will need self regulation which will help him with self discipline. His original plan was to start his assignment at the beginning of the week when it was posted however he kept putting it off. When he finally decided to work on the assignment he couldn't find his notebook and still got sidetracked. With self regulation he can plan and manage his time better, evaluate his actions, and use feedback as a learning tool. Secondly Dan should intensify his precision learning
Incidental learning is where children learn through viewing others, or experiences that take place within their environment. Being a visual learner; I depended on learning through viewing for a majority of skills that I acquired. I think it would be very difficult to live life as a blind person. For this reason, I do think that an expanded curriculum is a great idea.
