Vincent van Gogh is one of the world’s most well-known artists. He was the son of a pastor and was brought up in a religious atmosphere. He thought his true calling was to preach the gospel like his father. He became a preacher in a small coal mining town. This is when he starting becoming very interested in the people and things that surrounded him. He became an artist at the age of 27.
Around 1890, an artist by the name of Vincent Van Gogh who present day is one of the most renowned artists created magnificent, yet mysterious drawings which he started with just a pencil. From his pencil drawings with lines and dashes to the beautiful variations with using paint, Vincent was a genius, but was never congratulated on his work until later. Even as he was pronounced crazy, he could still create beautiful works of art which shows how even a flower can bloom in a dark forest. As his life was slowly being painted on canvas from the years of solitude and psychiatric problems he finally killed himself which a couple years later brought up his artwork through his own suicide.
In 1853 Vincent Van Gogh was born into a loving family. He got everything he wanted from his parents, since he was an only child. His dad worked for an oil company. He was a manager and wasn’t around very much. His mom on the other hand didn’t work and was with Vincent all the time. By the time he was 10 years old, his dad moved his family to France so they could have a better life.
Vincent van Gogh is now a well known artist even though he died way too soon before he could make more artwork. While he was alive he suffered from mental illnesses and lived a very poor life. He spent most of his time making artwork. It wasn’t until he died that he gained popularity for his artwork.

Rembrandt's greatest creations are seen in his portraits of his contemporaries. Illustrations of biblical scenes and self-portraits as well as his innovative etchings and use of shadow and light. In 1612, Rembrandt attended elementary school until 1616, then attended the Latin School in Leiden. There is where he was in biblical studies and lessons on the classics. Rembrandt trained as an artist under two masters. His first was painter Jacob van Swanenburgh from 1571 to 1638 with whom he studied for about 3 years. Van Swanenburgh specialized in the vision of

After travelling and getting support on painting by other artists and learning Impressionist art styles and ideals, Van Gogh started to paint the natural world. From 1886 to 1889, Van Gogh painted himself 43 times. After severing a part of his left ear during a mental breakdown, Van Gogh started to paint himself from the right instead of the left. Near the end of his life, Van Gogh’s mental health started to degrade further and was admitted to an asylum. As odd as it sounds, Vincent was born exactly one year after his mother’s stillborn, also named Vincent. One thing that saddened van Gogh was seeing his deceased brother’s headstone with his name and birthdate already engraved into it.
How would it feel to live your life as a failure, but after your death be praised by all? The real Vincent Van Gogh was an artist who had nothing and gave up on life. Many people viewed him as a tenacious and mysterious artist. He died a tragic death feeling like an artistic failure due to a couple of reasons. The first reason was because there were no cures for the mental problems, such as depression, insanity, and epilepsy, that ran in the family. Because of his depression, he felt like an artistic failure, not knowing the fame he would later gain. Van Gogh died as an unknown artist with little money and no cure for an issue that was common throughout his family.

Vincent Willem van Gogh was born on March 30th 1853, in Zundert, The Netherlands. Van Gogh spent his teenage year’s working for a firm of art dealers; however, he did not embark upon his art career until 1880. Originally, he worked only with dark and gloomy colors, until he came across the art movements developed in Paris known as, Impressionism and Neo-Impressionism (Meier-Graefe 4). Vincent Van Gogh had a rather depressing life. After being born into an upper-middle class family he quickly became depressed in life. He tried different things like working as an art dealer, becoming a Protestant missionary, and so on. None of these stuck for him as his mental health continued to decline. He was already a quiet, keep to himself kind of person, but over time he became more isolated. He got help from his younger brother Theo in the form of money and moved back home with his parents. This is when he began painting and eventually moved to Paris. Once moving there his paintings became more colorful and his painting style began to develop. He also began suffering from delusions and psychotic episodes and began neglecting his health by eating less and drinking alcohol more frequently and in
