Duck Hunting Paragraph

A look back at the year 2015 JANUARY — Duck season ended on a positive note after a lackluster early season. January proved good and my highlight was shooting with my son Bill at the Santa Cruz Club where limits were the rule. Dan Perkins Jr., caught and released a 12-pound two ounce Bass at Melones.

One early saturday morning my dad (Shawn), my cousin (trey), and I woke up at 2:30 a.m. to go duck hunting. When we get out there we are one of the first people there and 4:00 comes along and we sent out to our spot. When we come to a spot that boats can't go we have to walk for about 15 minutes. As we are putting out the last of are decoys we here so more people throwing out decoys and they are pretty close. Well, we start talking to them and they are pretty nice and they ask if they can hunt with us and we said yes. Then, daylight comes and a group of ducks come in and we shot but I was the only one that killed one that we could find and it´s a drake which is a male mallard. Then, my dad shoots and we could not find his ducks.

Deer hunting is always a great time especially when you get a deer. I was feeling lucky when my sister and I went out hunting on a saturday evening. The weather was typical fall weather. The air was crisp and clean, the sky was blue and the birds were chirping. I was getting a little hot in my hunting clothes though when we walked out to the stand which was a bad start to the hunt.

I enjoy all of the different seasons of hunting such as Spring turkey, Fall turkey, pheasant, and deer seasons. Hunting is one of the best way to bring a family together like no other activity. The misconception that hunting is a just an individualized activity couldn’t be more wrong. When hunting with your family, you experience an adventure with your loved ones that brings you all closer together like no other way. The truths of what it means to be a hunter are hunters care about the animals they hunt and the environment they hunt in more than the average person. Hunting is a great way to bring the family together unlike any other activity. Also, hunting brings people closer to nature in way unlike any other. And it’s this connection with nature that keeps hunters humbled by the environment they are in and the animals that live in it.
