Just imagine driving home from a party after everyone had been drinking and all of a sudden there is a big crash and the next thing you know you and your friends are being taken to the hospital in an ambulance. People do not think about the effects that their family or the victims’ families will go through if they have an accident after drinking alcohol. a. Emotional ii. It can cause family members a lot of stress and shame. They may become ashamed to admit that someone in the immediate family has been involved in a DUI or a drinking and driving accident. iii. Families who experiences a loss due to a drinking and driving accident rarely recover quickly or easily. They will look tired because every time they sleep they will picture their family member that had died in the accident. c.

Fatalities that occur suddenly can be more difficult to deal than anticipated death because members of the family are not well prepared. Sudden losses are even more difficult to process when a person is killed violently knowing that it could have been prevented if it wasn’t for another person’s negligence. These actions often cause strong emotions, and anger. Sometimes family members will experience violent thoughts, or will consider doing things that are out of personality, leading to suicide. In addition, Family members are financially affected after losing their loved ones. The cost of medical bills, phone bills, travel, counseling, and the funeral can be devastating to families with a small budget causing more suffering and pain. Let me tell you that the majority of automobile accidents in America results from alcohol. The alcohol consumed will be existed in blood and it is known as Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC). In this condition, someone will experience lowered alertness which can cause someone to loss of judgement and reduce their ability to track moving object. Beside lowered alertness, the muscle control will be lessened causing difficulty steering and less ability to maintain lane position and brake appropriately. Many groups, including MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), are fighting to stop drunk driving. Unfortunately, drunk driving cannot be stopped. People will always commit this heinous crime. The numbers may go down, but unfortunately there will always be a number. The only way to continually decrease the amount of lives lost is to increase punishments for drunk driving.

Driving drunk impairs you while you're driving and can impair your judgment to make decisions and judge things. Drunk driving doesn't just effect you. It can effect a lot of people in big ways such as losing a family member and changing some ones life as if you paralyzed them or something like that. I did not know that alcohol got into your blood stream and went into your brain in like 20 to 40 minutes. Also I did not know that you are impaired if the alcohol in your blood stream was 0.08. Those videos were super sad because they all lost loved ones or they were severely injured. I would feel terrible if I was drunk and hit someone.
