The drug enforcement agency helps with drug smuggling in our countries. They watch all the borders coming in and out of countries for drug smuggling. I think that the drug enforcement agency is very useful and very important to the U.S. If it wasn’t for the agency there would be a lot more drugs that get into our country. There is a bunch of ways that drugs get smuggled into the country. The government has hired people to protect our countries from the people that try to get the drugs into the country. There is a lot of security enforcement to prevent the drugs in our country. In the United States, the DEA has 21 divisions and 226 field offices. Globally, it has offices in 66 countries. The use of drugs was widespread. With drugs cheap and available, men were constantly getting drunk and high on drugs. Felix said, that they needed something to mask the loneliness and the pain they were suffering in war. Eventually, it became so prevalent that the authorities gave up on trying to control it. He said that the CIA was responsible for bringing massive amounts of drugs into the country. I did not know that until he told me. So it’s good to know that now. He also said that the CIA was bringing drugs into the United States and taking all those drugs into the poorest neighborhoods. That is why there were many crimes committed due to

Marijuana is a drug formed by drying out the shredded flowers, stems, and leaves of the Indian hemp plant. It is also the most common illegal drug used in the United States, and the second most- used drug in the world, behind alcohol. According to one national survey, approximately 6,000 Americans try marijuana for the first time every day. Marijuana has been proven to positively affect some illnesses, and the Medical Legalization Movement has made great progress in the US (randomhistory.com ©2007-2014). However, should the drug be approved for recreational purposes? Several significant reasons lead me to believe it should be.
The Drug Enforcement Administration also referred to as the DEA is an agency within the United States that enforces federal law under the supervision of the U.S. department of Justice (United States Department of Justice, 2014). The DEA has several sole responsibilities; in congruency with mid level medical providers such as Nurse Practitioners (NP); it is the lead agency for domestic enforcement of the Controlled Substance Act with the sole responsibility of coordinating and pursuing U.S. drug investigations abroad (Baker & Biederman, 2015).
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) main purpose is to enforce all controlled substance laws and regulations weather they are state or federal in the United States. Marijuana is the most commonly used drug in the United States. However, Marijuana is not “legal to possess” by federal law. The DEA’s job is to enforce the laws and regulations both state and federally, to punish at the highest max of the law, and up hold the odds between the state and federal government.
The Drug Enforcement Agency also known as the DEA is a law enforcement branch that handles controlled substance and narcotic laws throughout all of the United States. The DEA has history just like any other law enforcement branch, they have certain responsibilities, always have problems they face, and they their ways of working together with local law enforcement agencies. In the twenty-first century there is a plethora of drugs distributing from Mexico to the United States all the way to Canada causing numerous people to be sentenced to prison, to depart from their families, and to even die. Luckily, there is one law enforcement agency created by the U.S. government to banish these horrible facets, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Breaking down and destroying drug empires, arresting the kingpin leaders of illegal narcotics, and trying to put an end to this terrorizing crime. Drug cartels have always been an enormous issue all across the globe, but the DEA is like the superhero trying to fight
Drug smuggling has been an issue in the United States since the 1960s and the Border Patrol has made many efforts to stop drugs from crossing our borders. The Purpose of the Border Patrol is to secure and keep our borders safe. Recently their focus has been on illegal immigration and drug smuggling. Drug smuggling has become an increasing issue and the efforts of the Border Patrol are being pushed to stop these illegal activities. The influx of drugs into the U.S. has many effects on our country as a whole and as smugglers get creative in finding new methods to get around the Border Patrol, it becomes harder for them to stop it. This may be why it seems too easy to get drugs across the border. With new techniques of smuggling it allows for more drugs to enter the U.S. and it leave the Border Patrol on their toes and on a constant lookout for these new techniques.
Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs with various other law enforcement and intelligence gathering agencies, including the ODALE, was given the responsibility of enforcing the nation’s federal drug laws. It’s enormous sphere of influence is reflected in its Mission Statement which states among other things; “The mission of the Drug Enforcement Administration is to enforce the controlled substances laws and regulations of the United States and bring to the criminal and civil justice system of the United States, or any other competent jurisdiction, those organizations and principal members of organizations involved in the growing, manufacture, or distribution of controlled substances appearing in or destined for illicit traffic in the United States…”(15) The DEA was designed as an American agency with an international agenda.
In this research paper I will discuss one transnational crime, and compare the contrast of two nations for their definition of the crime rate, and tools used to measure the crime. I will give each country’s legal tradition and their major influences on crime definition, rate, and measurement. In this assignment I will analyze the extent to which crime statistics collected in different nations can adequately be compared.
The drug problem in the U.S. and around the world is an important issue and seems to be a difficult problem to tackle across the board. The inflow of drugs has become one of the largest growths in transnational crime operations; illicit drug use in the United States makes it very difficult for nation states police and customs forces to get a handle on the issues. War on drugs, drug trafficking has long been an issue for the United States. There has been a proclamation of “war on drugs” for the past 44 years.
In the 20th century, the United States government led a major renewed surge in drug prohibition called the "War on Drugs", this started the US on a spiral that would harm us all. Since the war on drugs began under the administration of President Richard Nixon, the federal drug-fighting budget has increased from $100 million in 1970 to $15.1 billion in 2010, with a total cost estimated near 1 trillion dollars over 40 years (drug policy, 2015). The amount of money that the United States spends on drugs could be used in many better fields of government. A large argument against this is that this money has been used to help end drug use. If that statement is true, then the DEA is doing a poor job at ending drug use since drug use has gone up since the war has started. The financial cost of the drug war is not worth it due to progress not being made here in the United States.
