Donald Trump, a billionaire businessman known for his real estate ventures, television show The Apprentice and 2016 Presidential candidacy, died on Tuesday. He was 79.

Trump’s death was caused by severe burns and infection. Trump was sitting near a lit candle in his Manhattan home when his toupee caught on fire. Once his hair went up in flames it became difficult to contain the fire. His wife Melania sat idly by drinking a glass of water, it never dawned on her to distinguish the fire with her water.

“I should have made him get rid of that dumb wig a long time ago,” said Trump’s wife Melania. “I feel awful but there was nothing I could do.”

Upon announcing that he would be running for president he promised to “make America great again.” Throughout his candidacy he made racist and derogatory comments that caused him to lose sponsorship from companies such as NBC and Macy’s. His controversial opinions gave him a lead over Republican candidates but also brought him a lot of hatred.

Donald John Trump was born June 14, 1946 in Queens, New York. He was the fourth of five children born to Frederick and Mary Trump. Frederick was a builder and real estate developer and Mary, a philanthropist, wife and mother.

At age 13, Trump’s parents sent him to the New York Military Academy as an attempt to harness his energy into something positive. After graduating from the Academy, Trump went on to study at Fordham University for two years. He then transferred to the Wharton School of Finance at University of Pennsylvania and earned a degree in economics. After college Trump took over his father’s business and became a leading businessman in the real estate world. His organization continues to own, operate, develop and invest in real estate all around the world. Trump’s children have decided to take over The Trump Organization following their father’s death.

When he was 31 he married model and Olympic skier Ivana Winklmayr. She aided him in many of his business ventures. They had three children together, Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric. The two divorced in 1991 and in 1993 Trump married actress Marla Maples. Together they had a daughter, Tiffany. In 1999, Trump divorced Maples. His next marriage was in 2005 to model and designer Melania Knauss, they had a son Barron together.

After losing the 2016 Presidential race to Democrat Hillary Clinton, Trump made a return to real estate. He was unable to regain his shows on NBC after they dropped their sponsorship. Three years after losing the presidential race, Trump renovated his casinos in Atlantic City. They have been doing well since the renovation and brought revenue back into Atlantic City, making it a thriving area once again.
