Mr. Vice President… Conservative dignitaries, friends and Distinguished speakers of this year’s Conservative political action conference… I want to first say thank you for inviting me to speak… It is not only an honor but will be the highlight of my life to not only address some of our party’s rank and file but, to also place emphasis on our core principles and just what it is that makes us conservatives. I should like to start this address with congratulating President Donald Trump (who is out steamrolling the media and liberals everywhere in his haste for effective and efficient government) with his UPSET victory in this past election. We were told we couldn’t pull this off, that we were the minority, that our principles were those of …show more content…
And, considering soft options offered up from the establishment wing of the party there was no hope for any kind of fight that we have seen from President Trump that would have come about had we chosen the “softer option”. And, we have to admit since announcing his candidacy he has moved quite substantially to the right of important issues. My friends, this new era of political conservatism will be married with strength, resolve, and outright disdain for calls of appeasing our political foes in matters at the heart of our core principles. What are these core principles? Principles of freedom, faith, family, sanctity of life, national pride that is American exceptionalism, low taxes, Strong national defense, the rule of law, limited government intervention in our daily lives. And most of all the belief in the individual. As I have stated previously these principles are the right principles… for without them we concede a world that knows of no freedom, the devaluing of life, a faith not in family and self-worth, but in a tyrannical centralized government with no respect for the life, freedom and rights of its people, to the children and grandchildren we claim so much to love and care
“The atmosphere is an unhealthy but this time its not a typical ugly political season, its highly charged, damaging, immoral and divisive. People have been brainwashed and chose their party over the country. Republicans played the race card and forced people to take sides. The message is clear, their civilization leader is Trump a barbarian, fascist, racist, fraud criminal, hypocrite, hate-monger, phony, lunatic and a sexual Predator. And now, the responsibility is on us to continue the mission of our great civil rights activists and leaders. Men and women will stand up again because we live by our principles, values and ethics.”
Obama delivers a descriptive speech that includes situations and issues that are familiar to the audience. Throughout his speech, he is composed and conversational: makes continuous eye contact; looks presentable and comfortable; uses no vocal fillers and made appropriate pauses. He voiced his thoughts openly and with optimism and delivered a speech that addressed the people’s concerns. Americans expect a President to embody the attributes of a leader’s confidence, effective communication, commitment, and intuition. Obama illustrated that he is not only a leader but also a President America can depend on. He creates a formal diction using sophisticated syntax and eloquent word choices such as “corrosive” and “consensus”. From beginning to end he holds the attention of his audience through a series of common goals he believes that can be reached
The ceremonial of my President Donald Trump greatly appreciated to make America Sane Again .depicted poise and perfected position of power. I am excited and encourage to work diligently and write letters to streamline government to the bone. In his speech, he stated that his administration encourage engagement and he works for us! I have a fresh outlook and with renewed energy ready and able to challenge and express my view to an outsider. Trump supporters would do well to remain vigilent always on guard and protect the unleashed forces from his administration, which serves to protect our nation. Globalization the enemy capitulating our authentic identity to a few. Furthermore; Mad Dog Mattis approved and Kelly confirmed makes my day
According to the Pew Research Center, for example, the population of Americans that express consistently liberal or consistently conservative values has doubled to approximately 21 percent in the past ten years. As a result of this increase in polarization the two main political parties have shifted further away from one another, leaving behind the many American citizens that do not hold consistently extreme views. The Republican Party needs to target racial minorities, women, and youth votes if it wants to maintain a competitive edge with the Democratic Party. In order to do this, the Republican Party must change their policy positions on immigration, abortion, and same-sex marriage. By changing these policy positions the Republican Party will gain a new coalition of voters, and only experience slight
According to Ball and Dagger (2014), conservatism is a tricky ideology to define due to the differing viewpoints1. However, what does seem to be shared by all conservatives is
According to Pew Research Center, only 20% of Americans trust the government. This decline has occurred since the 1960s. The percentage of trust proves the beliefs of unequal representation in American citizens. Firstly, the voter turnout in last year’s election denotes this analysis. Secondly, voters in last year’s election felt voting for either candidate did not matter; for their opinions favored no one in power. This grant is to illustrate the problem in our current government legislation is affecting people.
We live in a trying time. This is a moment in our history unparalleled with questions, and little answers from your leaders. Our country has been through the rough moments of reconstruction, but we are finally finding ourselves on our feet. Americans are beginning to go out, finding themselves in a thriving moment in our economic relations, as we begin to expand our influence and trade with others, and prosper. As you know, we, as American citizens, built our country on the concept of prosperity, and we protected our influence time and time again.
As previously mentioned, the candidates lacked focus. A common theme at the debate was their indirect responses. When asked a question, the candidates would engage in a monologue criticizing the Democratic Party (popular targets were Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama). The candidates frequently went over their allotted response time without offering a substantive response to questions asked of them. Marco Rubio was especially guilty of this, as evidenced by moderators chiding him for being off topic. When asked of the country’s financial situation, Rubio, Bush, and Cruz fervently agreed that Clinton should be banned from the White House and the military needed to be rebuilt. However, there was never
Also, the principles such as, government abusing its power, limited government, popular sovereignty, securing our rights which is a role of government, federalism, republicanism, individual rights, and giving power to the government, from looking at those and comparing them and adding them to the five situations I mentioned to help prove my point that the United States is not constitutional. Hopefully, one day, we will fix our nation’s issues and lead in our founding father’s footsteps from then
But here, at our convention, there will be no lies. We will honor the American people with the truth, and nothing else.
The theme of this speech is action and unity. Trump states that the world faces a large variety of issues, such as terrorism and rogue dictators. He states the importance of an organization like the United Nations. He emphasizes just how important and powerful a strong coalition among independent nations can be. He also stresses the idea that these nations must join together in order to solve the issues of today. If they don’t act now, nobody will in the future. It is best to confront these issues head on as soon as possible.
"So in our shared mission, to make America great again, I support and endorse our speaker of the House, Paul Ryan," Trump said in a rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin. "He is a good man. We may disagree on a couple of things, but mostly we agree.”
For my last draft of the speech, I was thrilled to find a quote that summed up my message. I was very excited to share my personal experience and educate people about
Confessing one 's political identity in 2016 truly embodies the phrase “walking on eggshells”. Whether you’re a liberal or conservative, owning up to your political resolutions sometimes comes with some intense backlash. In this years’ presidential election we have an intense candidate with very radical views, and if you don 't know who I’m talking about you should probably move from the rock you are living under. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has gained a immense popularity amongst not only the American public but Internationally as well. His chauvinist rhetoric, egotistical outlook, and how he continuously fabricates lies upon lies has truly brought him into the public eye. Hearing Trumps incredibly horrifying agenda makes me proud to admit that I am a Democrat, a solid liberal to be exact. As a solid liberal I believe in the power of the people and that means all people.Whether you are rich, poor, black, white, gay, or straight building and creating a nation that caters to people inherently means doing right by the economy and when we do well for the economy we do well for everyone.
The Republican elites have certainly surrendered to their nominee. They enjoy citing the “lesser of two evils”, in which the problems that Trump brings to the table are not as serious as the certain destruction that Hillary would bring if she was elected. Another emerging sentiment is that conservatism, in its current ideological form, is no longer relevant in modern political discourse. Traditional Reagan-era conservatism had its day, and it failed, so why not a new strategy, led by a potential despot who is at least promising to attack the status-quo.
