The article, “Donald Trump is one more bullyboy in a world of strongmen” (October 11, 2016) by David Ignatius discusses the topic of Donald Trump being a bully that is out of control and needs to be controlled. Ignatius presents the article to men, women, and children that show an interest in the topic both domestic and foreign affairs. Ignatius presents his article through pathos, allusions, and compare and contrast. Ignatius presents his article through pathos. Ignatius begins his article off by stating the actions Trump was doing on the debate stage that Sunday night. In lines 1-3, “Watching Donald Trump skulking behind Hillary Clinton… muttering about locking her up if he wins…” Ignatius wrote the sentence to retrieve some sympathy from the reader for Hillary. In addition, Ignatius is describing the actions of Trump to criticize him as a bully, and would threaten the people with the power he has.
