I love Donald Trump, I know most people do not but he is fresh, he can be more than aggressive and I like that, I really respect it. The article I chose was an interview with Mr.Trump the title caught my eyes as it was beyond bias. Donald Trump's amazingly vague “'60 Minutes' interview, annotated; A luxurious -- and even classy – interview” (Cillizza, Chris). I thought this title was a bit snarky and quite frankly rude as I think Mr.Trump is a firecracker, he says what he thinks and means what he says and I love it. This title makes Mr.Trump sound unconcerned with his campaign, boring and sloppy, which he is none of those items listed. This man has a reputation that proceeds him, whether you like him or not he does his job, keeps his word, …show more content…
It sounds like the Republican Party that does not want Mr.Trump as the front man is conducting the interview and it is insulting. Throughout the interview I get the sense of slander to Mr.Trumps name and reputation, it is bias making his sound vein and uppity. Scott Pelley makes the tax plan sound like Trump has swindled the government. If this would have been approached correctly it would have been made clear that everyone does as much as they can to pay less and get more back every year. He is also attacked on his plan for a wall, ever since Mr.Trump has mentioned it he has been called racist, this is a defamation of his character and if people would read Mr.Trump is the farthest thing from racist. This whole interview is limited debating, it could be assume Scott Pelley made a big check by the government to do this interview.
I believe vital information is missing from this article, this is a sign of omission. During the talk about the free trade we have it is not mentioned how much this country is in debt due to our trade policy and many other problems. Scott Pelley also makes clear that he is okay with illegal immigration, but no statistic were mentioned on the amount are here, the crime rate that some not all bring, and the jobs that are unavailable as they take
The article displays how economics relates to big businesses and their lack of workers. The DACA program had allowed many undocumented immigrants to work for big companies in their lower ranks which is an essential position. Many of these companies such as Facebook, Google rely on immigrant workers such as the ones protected by DACA to provide labor which as they are willing to take up work that other citizens are not willing to do. Cutting DACA can drastically affect our GDP as the labor shortages may cause our GDP to fall $460.3 billion dollars while also taking $24.6 billion out of our Medicare and Social Security pool. The article demonstrates foreign workers are key to our economic success as they do the leg work for big tech companies
The content of this clip was supposed to about Trumps ill-mannered outreach to Black Americans; why is he so impulsive in his tactics to win their vote? It began that way, by featuring a long video clip of Trump speaking impetuously about inner city violence. The bulk of it however, left much to be desired. Instead it was a made up of snide, bombastic hostility, right after the clip ended until the end.
An Article by Ben Marquis titled “Trump’s Wall to Cost Less than the Amount US Spends on Taking Care of Illegals” was published in the news magazines, Conservative Tribune. The online article was organized in an “inverted pyramid” style. Eye-catching headlines placed largely at the top, followed by the main facts and details of the situation, then concluded with background context. The article was written in favor of the conservatives’ sides. Marquis included names and titles: illegal immigrants, illegal entry, unemployment to emphasized on the estranged status of immigrants from American citizens.
Guzman when he was a teen he would stand up to his father to be able to protect his siblings from being hurt and being beaten. During the interview of Sean Penn and Kate del Castillo in meeting El Chapo Guzman. On the arrival of Kate del Castillo the Mexican actress with was that El Chapo Guzman greet with her in opening the car door to her.
It is made clear what side the author takes and their opinions towards the president. From the very first paragraph to the last, the author uses manipulative language to influence the reader to agree with their views and beliefs. The first paragraph tackles the idea that Trump is a “real estate tycoon that does not qualify to serve as president” and he has his own views but they are “wrong in the diagnosis of what the real problems in America is, and his propositions are even worse.” (Editorial Board, 2016, para. 1). The author attempts to show why Trump is unqualified and describes his campaign as all “snarl and sneer” (Editorial Board, 2016, para. 1) but with no actual substance to presidency. In the article, each paragraph starts off with another reason persuasive reason degrading Trump. The rest of the paragraph explains their reasoning to believe this and why we should also believe
By using “Donald”, it downgrades Trump and shows he is not worthy of being respected.
By doing this, authors made the overviews of the articles sound more conniving on the positive side than it shouldn’t be. On the other hand, authors also ignored how the negative effects affected our economy. Certainly, the burden enlarger as the demands for food and shelters and public serves, such as school and hospital increase as millions of illegal immigrants sneak in. And the fear of high tax bill and heavy social border also lead public to have second thoughts on illegal aliens as well. Grow, et al should be fairly judging both the positive and negative insights of the current issue. Overall, the articles of illegal immigrants do not harm America’s economy allot a deceitful view for majority of the readers.
I chose Bernie sanders as the candidate that I would vote for. A couple of issues that I care about that Sanders also stands for are healthcare for all and same-sex marriage. Sanders position on everyone being able to have healthcare is supportive. In an interview with Ezra Klein of Vox, Sanders responded with, “Health care, to my mind, is a right of all people. That's what I believe. I think every man, woman, and child is entitled to health care”(1). He believes that healthcare should not be something that we have to qualify and fight for but that it should be our right to have good healthcare. He made a point by saying that despite having the affordable care act, we still have so many people that are still uninsured and underinsured while our country is paying almost double what any other nation faces (2). Sanders is for healthcare for all because he believes it’s our right to it despite our income and not be discriminated against for reasons such as our gender or previous health issues. He believes we shouldn’t be discriminated against just because we might have had a health issue that the insurance companies consider a higher risk of needing help later, which would mean
From the Editorial Board's view, paying deportation and increasing the border security is not in the US' budget. The Editorial Board builds their credibility for why deportation must stop by incorporating numerous statistics and quoting government institutions. By incorporating polysyndeton, rhetorical questions, and statistics, the Editorial board expresses how deporting illegal immigrants will not positively simulate the economy. A solution where illegal immigrants do not have to be deported may not save the economy for mass debt; however, it can help make the hole
Your post is interesting, especially when you mentioned that with each new president, power is slowly extended. When you said that, did you mean that our citizen rights is being invaded by every new president or did you mean that with each new president, a new law is created and that would affect our whole
Trump is a name with a lot of history and a lot of connotation that only continues to grow as Donald Trump runs his presidential campaign. With all the backing that he proclaims, Trump still shows alarming qualities for a man that could be rising to power. He shows inconsistency which alludes to a weakness of character that makes him a poor presidential candidate. He is widely known for his aggressive arrogant ideas, which appeals to come people, but major concern arises from Trump being unable to defend his own ideas and, when he is questioned about them, he turns tail and flip-flops his opinions. Being able to clearly and concisely present ideas and then defend them seems like an elementary concept of how to build a solid platform, yet it
This interview is in the early 1990's and it shows Hillary Clinton being interviewed during her husband's campaign. I thought this interview was very interesting, because the clips before the actual interview showed more sexism then the actual interview. The first thing that stood out to me was how a man in the beginning said that she was to ambitious and overly aggressive, while a women said that she was uncomfortable with Hillary because she seemed like she was the "power behind the throne". I feel like this breaks the reversibility rule because if they were talking about a male he would probably be described as strong minded and determined to see change. Also, he would have been seen as a supportive spouse compared to unnaturally powerful. This
Donald Trump has promoted during his speech the preach of the American people especially the the white male and female population, making this a very controversial ideology, since in recent months there has being a big separation between the American populations. Immigrants and other minorities are now at risk of suffering from Donald Trump policies and ideas as he will become the 45th President after being elected in the recent weeks. One of the risk that most immigrants are having I that they will be deported back to their native country, the vast majority of the immigrants are Mexican, and this are the most affected people due to Trump’s important idea to build a wall. According to Emily Stewart from The Street, she has expressed the folloing:
A visual source of media that i chose was a power ball billboard on the side of a highway with the word "believe". The subject for it was the power ball, the lottery game. The Occasion was all the time, this was a billboard meant for 365 days of the year. The audience of the billboard was the people driving on the highway. The purpose was to convince people to buy lottery tickets. I chose this piece because it stood out to me as something easy to understand, it was something that i could explain very easily.
The telephone interview with the owner of Tesla Model S. According to this conversation, the owner is very happy with a purchase of the electric car. By paying the high price once, this car saves a lot of money in the future. Tesla does not require frequent maintenance and very reliable on the roads. Also, it does not require to visit the gas station. However, one main problem is that Tesla wasn't made for the long trips. In other words, this car was made for the local trips only, not for the long distances. It requires charging battery every
