You may know him from his Lisa Simpson haircut or his mouth full of 24-karat gold teeth; he is the 19-year-old rapper that is taking the music industry by storm. In the past, two years his music has gained national recognition and appealed to all types of fan bases. He is a force not to be reckoned with and his name is Kodak Black. He is the self-proclaimed “Project-Baby” from South Florida that is giving rapper a run for their money. Jon Caramanica, from the New York Times, described Black as “an unlikely savior for a hip-hop industry that has lately been preoccupied with melodic-minded Drake clones. Instead, he’s an old-fashioned literalist and represents the perennial power of grit even in a time that’s squeaky clean.” Kodak Black is an
Fictional writers often write about the human condition as a way to connect with readers who contain narrow knowledge. In fictional books, characters are given emotion and senses like any other actual person, which can make the reader relate quicker in detail unlike factual novels. In other words, readers gain a new perspective on a period of time by examining a fiction novel. Ironically, some argue fiction can educate us about part of our life by enabling us to relate and empathize. I am certain that many people can learn factual items in fictional stories. In Kindred, by Octavia Butler, the near death experiences of Rufus Weylin transported an African American woman named Dana from 1976, to the antebellum south to gain an unbelievable experience of what it is like to have been a slave. Through her daily life on the Weylin plantation, the reader begins to understand just how complicated slavery is and how it affects both the slaves and the plantation owners. This novel gave a new definition of reality and a new meaning of the 19th century exploitation practice.

Oftentimes people have a difficult time connecting with history. They do not see the relevance between something hundreds of years ago and today’s issues. The Broadway musical Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Miranda does a great job of bridging that gap. Many of the issues that were faced in the time period of Alexander Hamilton are also faced in the world today. An example of this is politicians riding the fence on important issues. A main character in the play is criticized greatly for doing this just as people are currently. In Miranda’s Hamilton, characters are faced with issues and are asked to take a stand just as political leaders are today.

In my opinion, Kendrick Lamar, an award-winning rapper and songwriter, has one of the best abilities to describe his distressed and abused lifestyle in Compton, California. He is not your original cliché artist who does not speak about anything meaningful. Kendrick, also known as K. Dot, is one of the most well known and most respected rappers in this era. Not only does he speak about his gloomy past, but he also speaks about his fortunate future. His ability to give detailed representations of his struggles and his story telling allows me to, metaphorically, enter the mind of Kendrick Lamar.
The idea of universal love is one that is prevalent in the media. With the news filled with grim stories and horror many people are calling to the idea of loving everyone. Tensions are high concerning race relations, gender discrimination, and sexual orientation. Many in the general public are calling for humanity to embrace humanity. Many in the general public are asking “why we can’t just love one another”? Stephen T. Asma tackles this idea of love in his article published in the New York Times. Asma discusses two different ideas about universal love before offering his own take on the subject. Just as Asma states, universal love is a myth and closer personal relationships should be favored.
Being a big fan of the Wu-Tang Clan, he utilized the “Wu-Tang Clan’s Name Generator”, eventually arriving at the name Childish Gambino, a name that would make a splash in the music business. Glover’s career, however, was a long road of trial and error, but still on the verge of a break out. Kicking off his career, he independently released his first album, Poindexter, in 2009, along with a pair of mixtapes by the name of I Am Just a Rapper and I Am Just a Rapper 2 in 2010. Coinciding with the commencement of his music career in addition was the kickoff of the comedian aspect of his life. In 2010, Glover’s stand-up special aired on Comedy Central, eventually resulting in his receiving of the Rising Comedy Star award later that year. After the brief but successful run, he turned back to music, releasing his first EP, “Be Alone”. One of the tracks on the extended play was particularly successful, a track by the name of “Freaks and Geeks”. The song was responsible for Glover’s first music video, and received particular prestige when Adidas featured the song in a commercial with rising NBA star Dwight Howard. It was also within this same time period in which the dates for his first tour were released. The 34-day IAMDONALD tour made 24 stops, commencing on April 16 of 2011 and finishing on May 19. The tour was a one-man show that featured rap, comedy, and video segments, an event that allowed Glover to really showcase his talent; by high request a second tour soon followed, by the name of Camp Gambino. Following his trek around the nation, was the subsequent releasing of various songs and mixtapes, at a time where the name Childish Gambino was turning
Kanye West was born in Atlanta, Georgia on June 8, 1977. His parents divorced and Kanye was raised in the middle class neighbourhood of South Shore in Chicago by his mother. At the age of 10, he moved to China with his Mother and was the only foreign student in the entire school, which --at a young age-- was very defining for him having been labelled an outcast early on. This may have contributed to his very outlandish and attention grabbing persona as his desire to affirm his role among the new individuals was as strong as it is now. The chinese children were constantly touching and staring at him because they have never seen a black person before He later returned to Chicago and got involved in the hip-hop scene and eventually dropped out of College to pursue his music career. Kanyes Father was part of

When reading the title, we often associate a love song as something jaunty, pleasureable, and celebrating, or its other extreme, regretting, nostalgic, and full of pity for the singer’s troubles in love. With Williams the singer, the main idea revolves around the concept of an incomplete union in first person point of view, which makes the reading more personal as the reader is using “I” instead you or he. From this concept stem the ideas that this poem is about hopelessness or happiness, communal sex or masturbation. Delving into history, literary techniques, association with the author, and own opinion of it, there is easily more to it than meets the eye.
