On 6-30-2015 at about 1855 hours I was dispatched to 941 26th ST NE, Auburn,
King, WA, for the report of a physical domestic, in which the suspect had left the area. Dispatch advised the victim/reporting party, Jennifer Cummings, was reporting to 911 that her daughter, Miriah Cummings, threw several items at her during a verbal altercation.
I arrived on scene and contacted Jennifer in her residence. I noticed Jennifer had a large wet spot with noodles on the front of her shirt. I also noticed a large amount of noodle soup on the floor and walls of the entry way to the residence, with a white bowl laying on the ground.
Jennifer was visible upset, throughout my conversation with her she had to stop several times to compose herself as she

Miriah has a long history of throwing items around the residence and becoming physical with Jennifer, furthermore, Miriah attains appointments with a mental health counselor regularly.
During this incident Jennifer told Miriah to clean up the kitchen after she was done cooking some soup. Miriah became upset by having to clean up, as she often does according to Jennifer, and started yelling at Jennifer. Jennifer was in the upstairs of the residence at the time and began walking down the stairs, where she was confronted by Miriah. Miriah was holding the bowl of soup, which she then threw at Jennifer without warning. The soup hit Jennifer in the stomach area and the bowl fell to the ground. Miriah quickly left the residence.
Jennifer reported Miriah has many friends in the area and she is not sure where she may have gone. Jennifer did not have further information on how to contact Miriah.
Jennifer allowed PD to take photos of the residence, but did not want to provide a statement. Jennifer stated she did not want Miriah to get in trouble.
The photos were later uploaded to the Auburn Police Department V-Drive and placed on CD-R. The CD is included in the case

On the 20th of January, 2016, the Federal Investigative Unit of Bridgeport, West Virginia was called to the residence of 223 Maplewood Drive. Our unit acted on information that we had received from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Before we arrived at the scene, our investigative unit obtained a search warrant for the individual's home. Search warrants are vital to any investigation because they are judge issued documents that give law enforcement officials permission to enter a certain area to conduct their searches (Graves, 2013). In order for any member of law enforcement to receive a search warrant, they must file a written document known as an affidavit. An affidavit must show probable cause, particularity
There is not a single person in existence who speaks so highly of life like Jennifer Mullings does. The third-world country of Jamaica has made her the happiest woman alive. Jamaica is the place she found her talent and passion for the culinary arts. “Food is life, and life is good at my house”, she said. She did not always live the way she does now, however. Her days in the past were tough, but that is part of the reason how she got to where she is. She somehow was able to turn her worst experiences into incredible, new chapters of her life.
Domestic violence is a crime that has increased in the recent years; therefore, recently, domestic violence has become a widely researched topic. Some of the extensive research regarding domestic violence “indicates that intimate partner violence arrest rates have risen as a direct result of the implementation of mandatory and preferred arrest domestic violence laws. However, this research also suggests that part of this increase can be attributed to an increase in the arrest rate of females in cases of domestic assault. In addition, the arrest of both parties involved in an incident, also known as a “dual arrest,” appears to have contributed to the rising rates of domestic assault arrest” (Hirschel et al., 2007, p. 255). In other words, it
The request for evidence is also asking I submit additional evidence regarding physical/emotional abuse and/or extreme cruelty.
A victim’s race may also be a obstacle to their decision to report domestic violence to the police. Most people in our society may think that White victims are more likely to report their abuse to the police; however, research shows that African American and White victims equally report abuse. Some African American victims may fear discriminatory treatment because of past experiences, but most view police as caretakers and want the police to take on a social worker approach to their altercation (Akers and Kaukinen 2009). According to Johnson (2007), African American abusers are more likely to be arrested than White abusers in same-race domestic violence altercations. African American victims supported the arrest of their abusers, but they were less likely to support prosecution.
“Every year, in the United States there are over 3 million incidents of reported domestic violence. Every year, 4,000 victims of domestic violence are killed.” (Domestic Violence: Disturbing Facts about Domestic Violence). Domestic violence is a crime that is not just committed in the United States, but worldwide. This crime is committed every day, every hour, every minute, and every second. Anybody can be a victim or the abuser. This can happen to any child, man or woman. This is a horrific crime. Women are more likely to be the victim in domestic violence than men. “Forty-five percent of all violent attacks against female victims 12 years old and older by multiple
