On 04/30/17 at 12:53pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched to 1300 Clarfield Ave on a dog at large, no known owner. I arrived at the location and proceeded to walk to the complainant house, when the complainant came out and pointed where the dog was. A pit bull brindle in color was just west of complaint house loose. I proceeded to try to capture the dog; the dog ran behind some houses and cut through a hole in a fence that went to a house on the next street (Southfield Drive South) over. I return to my vehicle and drove to 1293 Southfield Drive South. The pit bull was confined to this location. I knocked on the door, and an African American female answered. I asked if she owned a brindle pit bull, she stated that she did.
On 05/08/16 at 2:47pm, I was dispatched to 5064 Blue Meadow Court, on an injury-possible dangerous or vicious dog, owner known, animal confined. I arrived at the house and spoke to victim Xavier Holston-Sims. Mr. Holston-Sims stated that he was riding his bike from the corner store on Cleveland Ave, when a dog came out and bite him on his left leg. I took a victim statement from Mr. Holston-Sims stating those facts. I then want to 4975 Cleveland Ave and spoke to dog owner Lisha Entingh. Ms. Entingh stated that she was not outside when the incident happen, but that her friend was walking the dog on a leash in her yard when the dog pulled away and bite the victim. On 05/08/18, at approximately 10:56am, I Deputy Warden N. Christian with Franklin County Animal Care and Control (FCACC) was dispatched to 4514 Starrett Court on a dangerous or vicious dog investigation (dog owner owner's address). I arrived on scene at approximately 11:25am. I met with victim Syed Naque, who stated he was outside his resident when a medium size dog (black) came up from behind him and bit him on his right thigh. Mr. Naque stated the dog continue to come at him in a aggressive manner even after he went inside the house, the dog would charged the side door. A next door neighbor had to get the dog to leave the area. Mr. Naque stated the dog owner did come over to apologize in regards to the incident. I explained Mr. Naque
On 09/11/16 at 5:57pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched to 841 Crevis Lane on a possible nuisance dog; dog still at large, threat to safety. I arrived at the location and spoke to complainant John Haywood. Mr. Haywood stated that he was going to his vehicle to put his daughter car set in when the neighbor’s dog came from behind him and started growling and barking at him. Mr. Haywood ran into the garage to get away. He contacted Franklin County Animal Care and Control due to the dog being previously designated dangerous. Mr. Haywood recorded the dog loose near his vehicle. I advised Mr. Haywood if he know if the dog was still loose, Mr. Haywood was unsure. I advised him I will need to check with the dog owners to make sure the dog has return home and I will return to talk to him.
On 07/14/16 at 7:07pm, I was dispatched to 1494 Cypresswood Court on a dog at large patrol only. I was arrived at the location and was flagged down by the complainant. The complainant stated the dog was running loose near Dublin Granville Road, her and her husband chase the dog in this general area to prevent the dog from getting hit by a car. The dog was in the backyard of 1494 Cypresswood Court. I enter the backyard and was able to place a leash on the dog. I place the dog in my van. Dog owner Heather Davis reclaimed the dog on 07/15/2016. Ms. Davis was unable to show proof of dog license and vaccinations. I issued Ms. Davis violations for failure to license, failure to vaccinate and failure to control.
On 10/03/17, at approximately 7:35am, I Deputy Warden N. Christian with Franklin County Animal Care and Control (FCACC) was dispatched to the area of 5232 Freedom Ridge Drive on a dog at large, patrol only. I arrived in the area and saw a pit bull (brown/white) matching the description of the dog running loose at the above listed address. I stopped my vehicle and proceeded to check the address where the dog was at. The pit bull was tied up at that location. At that moment a unknown female came outside and headed towards her car. I pulled up and asked if the pit bull belong to her. She stated that her son who resides at that location is holding the pit bull for a friend, but that the friend left without indicating what to do with the pit
On 11/22/16, at 4:02pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched to the 600 block of Bedford Ave on dog at large patrol only. I arrived in the area and saw two dogs, one a small mix breed black and white and a tan and white pit bull, in the front of 681 Bedford Ave. I exited my vehicle and slowly approached the house. I knocked on the dog. Dog owner Robin Holmes-Muhammad answered the door. I asked if the two dogs on her porch belong to her, she stated that they did. I advised Ms. Holmes-Muhammad that we received a complaint that the dogs were running loose. Ms. Holmes-Muhammad apologized and took both dogs inside the house. Ms. Holmes-Muhammad stated that the tan/white pit bull does not really belong to her it was on her front porch
On 12/06/16, at 5:18pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched 1496 Blaine Drive on a dog at large, patrol only. I arrived in the area and saw a brown and white pit bull running loose. I took pictures of the dog loose. I proceeded to follow the pit bull down Blaine Drive, the dog stop at 1494 Blain Drive. I exited my vehicle and slowly approached the house. I knocked on the dog and received no answer. Due to large amount to construction material and debris around the property I was unable to secure the dog on property. I placed a leash on the dog and put the dog in my vehicle. I left a door notice at that location to contact the shelter if the dog belongs to the occupant of that house. I transported the dog to Franklin County Animal
Upon my arrival I observed a white female identified as Whitney Anderson who exited her vehicle as I attempted to park my patrol unit on the side of the road. As I was exiting my patrol unit Whitney began to yelling at Darrell Anderson. As I was approaching the two subject I instructed Whitney to stop multiple times. Whitney continued to yell at Darrell therefore I started to place Whitney into hand restraints. At this time Whiney started to pull away from me and continued to yell at Darrell. I had placed one of Whitney’s hands into the restraints and her children began to get out of the vehicle. Whitney was still trying to pull away
On 06/29/16 at 8:41pm, I was dispatched to 2706 Synder Court on a possible dangerous or vicious dog, owner known. I arrived at the location and spoke to Logan Liming and a female individual who was the victim’s Aunt. Mr. Liming and the female individual stated that the dog at 2704 Snyder Court was outside with a male minor on a leash. The dog got away from the minor and was running around the victim’s front yard. As the male minor was trying to capture the dog, the dog came towards victim Matthew Liming. Matthew Liming tried to back away from the dog, but was unable to get away and was bite/starch on his left forearm. Mr. Liming and the female individual held down the dog until the dog owner came out and got the dog. Mr. Liming wrote
On 04/29/16 at 6:21pm, I was dispatched to an injury- possible dangerous or vicious dog animal at large. I arrived at 283 S. Skidmore St, talk to dog owner Mark Capehart. Mr. Capehart advised me that two kids came to his house and knocked on his door. His daughter answered the door, as she was talking to the kids; their dog charged pass her and bite victim 1 Kamora Stidoms and victim 2 Jahquez Lonzy. Both kids ran from the house. Kamora Stidoms was taken to Nationwide Children Hospital for her bite wounds. Jahquez Lonzy had minor injuries which did not require him to go to the hospital. I spoke to Kamora Stidoms and her mother, Vanilla Hunt, who wrote out a victim statement for her daughter due to her being a minor. Kamora Stidoms has a small puncture wound on the back of her left arm and scratches on the upper section of her arm.
On 09/03/16 at 7:39pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched to 1007 S 18th St on a dog running loose. I arrived at the location and spoke to complainant Sandra Marcum. Ms. Marcum stated that a brindle pit bull was running loose earlier in the day. The pit bull was unsupervised and not on a leash and would come on her front porch. Ms. Marcum pointed out where the dog lived. I went to 689 E Whittier St, where I talk to dog owner Kathleen Mulvaney. Ms. Mulvaney admitted that her dog was running loose earlier in the dog by accident. Ms. Mulvaney asked if I wanted to see the dog, I stated that I did. After seeing the dog, I asked If Ms. Mulvaney had proof of a dog license. Ms. Mulvaney stated that she didn’t. I issued Ms. Mulvaney
On 09/11/2017 at approximately 12:55pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian with Franklin County Animal Care and Control (FCACC) was dispatched 1595 Dewberry Road on a dog at large, no known owner. I arrived at the location and met with the complainant (Anthony). Anthony stated that he came outside and there was a pit bull (brown/white) in his yard. Anthony stated he does know where the pit bull lives. I placed a leash on the pit bull and placed her in my vehicle. The pit bull had no identifying tags to indicate ownership. I transported the pit bull to FCACC. Dog owner Robert McMaster redeemed the pit bull name Ruby on 09/12/17. Mr. McMaster did not show proof that Ruby was current on dog license or vaccinations. I issued Mr. McMaster violations
On 08/27/17, at approximately 1:08pm I Deputy Warden N. Christian with Franklin County Animal Care and Control (FCACC) was dispatched 2090 Crown Plaza Drive (Kroger) on dogs being held, no known owner. I arrived at the location and met with a employee at Kroger, the dogs ( German Shepherd (White) and Siberian Husky (Black/White)) were being held in a fence in area at that location. I had a Kroger employee complete a animal release form. I was than escorted to the fence in area where I placed a leash on both dogs and put them in my vehicle The Siberian Husky had a microchip (941000015078326) that was not register. I cleared from the location at approximately 1:36pm.
On 06/24/17 at 1:31pm I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched to 1389 S Roosevelt Ave, on a dog at large, patrol only. I arrived in the area and was flagged down by the complainant. Complainant stated that a medium mix brown dog has been running loose for the last few days. I drove around the area, and saw a dog matching the complainant description on the 1300 Block of Sherbrooke Place. I took a picture of the dog loose. I exited my vehicle and talked to a few neighbors who stated that they don’t know where the dog lives. I tried to coach the Sharpei to come to me with doggie treats, the Sharpei would come within 2 feet of me than ran away. I repeatedly tried to get the Sharpei to come to me but to no avail. I returned to my vehicle to retrieve my snare pole. I slowly approached the Sharpei again and it proceeded to run from me, first heading east through backyards to S Roosevelt. I followed the Sharpie to S. Roosevelt Ave where I redirected it to Sherbrooke Place.
We took Lillie to Bass Pro Shops dog event. It was quite interesting to watch her mingle in the aisles, play with other dogs, stare down taxidermy, and run from the aquarium because it sounded like her bath. I enjoyed talking with several rescues and dog organizations. Olathe is a very dog friendly city
