I understand both sides of the “Brig your dog to work program”, but I don’t think it is a good idea. I have a dog and I love dogs, but many people aren’t as comfortable around them because some dogs bite, or act badly when they’re stressed out. Man’s best friend: you would think that that title would conjure up images of humans, or even our closest cousins in the animal kingdom, such as monkeys, apes, and chimpanzees. However, the first image that enters most humans head is the same image that would have induced fear hundreds of years ago, the not so distant heir to the wolf: dogs. The same creatures that we feuded with for survival now take up a huge part of our lives and make up a large portion of the images littering the internet. Dogs take part in everything from movies to family gatherings, to search and rescue and emotional or physical service. Nearly fifty percent of American households alone have at least one dog, and between all of us we own 83.3 million dogs, a number not to be trifled with. The place our four-legged canine companions claim is undisputed and easily backed up.
Although I have heard from so many people, that a dog is a man 's best friend, I always wondered what completes their strong relationship. Similarities, loyalty, or possibly companionship? There is a reason why we call dogs a man 's best friend. We can learn so many things from a dog 's behavior, attitude, personality, and willingness to provide love and loyalty. When we come home from a long day at work, dog 's do not judge us. No matter how grumpy and tired we are, our dog is happy to see us. It will always greet us with a positive and enthusiastic mind. Appreciating what is happening at the moment, is something that we can learn from our pets. They do not think about what is going to happen tomorrow. They live in the present moment. "As we age, so many people lose the capacity to play, to have fun and enjoy the moment." (Herzog 97) The relationships between humans and dogs grow from attitude, personality and behavior. Dogs can

Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines a pet as “a domesticated animal kept for pleasure rather than a utility.” Dogs have been considered man's best friend for centuries. They have stood side by side through natural disasters, family tragedies, the gift of life, birthdays, and anything else that comes to mind. Dogs help people cope mentally and emotionally, receive sufficient exercise, and create new friendships.
Main point one: Companionship is important to have in your life, even if it comes from your dog. When life gets stressful it’s nice to have a companion to play with, take a walk with or even cheer you up. Companionship can be hard to come by with humans sometimes and easily found in dogs. While their personalities vary according to the breed of the dog, one characteristic remains the same, their loyalty. Dogs make great listeners, maybe because they can’t tell you to stop talking, but either way they seem to listen with interest. Many dog owners find themselves telling dogs things they can't seem to tell anyone else. This is what makes dogs good therapeutic animals. A dog is an especially good animal for someone who lives alone or suffers from depression. Having a dog present can also help people who have suffered a tragic loss in their life and need the company of another life for comfort. Having dogs in my life is a custom for me and I do not want to imagine life without them. Because of this, I currently work at “The Lil’ Red Wag Inn”, a dog boarding and grooming company, and it has helped teach me the proper way for caring for dogs. Many humans think only about teaching dogs; However, dogs have taught me many genuine qualities that we, as humans, tend to leave behind at times. Dogs have taught me to be supportive, compassionate, and responsible. Dogs are very forgiving creatures who remind me what matters most in life. They have and always will love us unconditionally, this is something that is hard for most people including me. Dogs have impacted my life in a way that no human ever has by teaching me loyalty, love unconditionally, and enjoy the little things.
