Facebook is a popular social media outlet for people of many ages across the world. Facebook is not only used to reconnect with old friends and find new people but it also is used to promote advertisements, natural disasters, deaths and news broadcasts. Although, Facebook is not just limited to those few things, I just wanted to clarify some common uses for Facebook. As you may have noticed, Facebook is the place where everyone goes to find out information; however, Facebook is not just used for good. For example, Facebook keeps us informed about the constantly increasing number of Police fatalities against African Americans.
Terence Crutcher was shot, tased, and killed by the police; there were many people on Facebook posting negatively and

Because of the negative comments and opinions of the world’s many citizens, an informative piece was turned chaotic. This was just one of the many examples of how Facebook is being used in a negative manner. However, this was not the first incident to occur like this; families are still mourning the death of Alton Sterling, a man accused of having possession of a concealed weapon and unlawfully selling C.D.’s. As well as Philando Castile, a man obeying a police officer to show his identification and proof of insurance, shot 4 times in the arm leading to his death. Do not think for once that these videos on Facebook didn’t receive the same treatment as Terence. Yes, people did feel bad for these other men and their families, but there still were some individuals that felt as though these men instigated these situations to the point of death being their outcomes. All the mean and hateful comments that these men received through Facebook videos were completely inappropriate and disrespectful to these men families.
Many may not realize that their ignorance and inhumane way of thinking, pushes us further back into the past, when our current events were just a regular day to some. Facebook has become an outlet for these ignorant, illiterate individuals to make false accusations and bring insult to situations that should be take hard. Individuals take out the time to let the world know of the crisis’ that we are going through, but in return their hard work gets
Social Media has become a huge part of our lives. It is a way to connect to those far away, or to share things that we find interesting or exciting and can be a very personal presentation of who we are. But in both positive and negative ways we can share our opinions and our view on certain events in the world. These can lead to rallies, protests, uprisings or in some cases revolution, the internet has become one of the most influential forces in this world and a large part of that is due to social media. In the case of the Michael Brown shooting, social media focused on the positive and negative relationships between minorities and cops in the United States of America. Sites such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Vine were all used to show
Things such as, branding, customer engagement, publicity, feedback mechanism, and reputation management are example of Facebook helping businesses. Finally, Facebook has created a new revolutionary form of communication. Facebook has provided users the ability to communicate with family members and friends all over the world. Individuals who are unable to leave the house due to a disability or environmental factors find Facebook a way to deal with this isolation.
Social media has revolutionized our lives. As we speak the number of Facebook users as surpassed 1.2 billion monthly active views (~17 percent of the world's population) which is great considering only 2.31 billion people have access to the internet (excluding China, since Facebook isn't allowed in China). Facebook has become an irreplaceable part of many people's lives. In my last post, I spoke about a letter to Facebook, telling it about it's effect on our society today. However, I didn't mention the stuff that I personally hate about Facebook.
There are many benefits to Facebook. Facebook is the quick, easy way to keep up to date with events that happen every day. Once a
First of all, people like to use social media to connect with people and share their own information. Twitter users occasionally tweet only about one particular interest, one side of themselves, or just crack jokes. Another example of that social media is very familiar for everyone is Twitter. In Twitter, campaigners, politicians, and celebrities maintain a constant presence in the online lives of their followers. Followers can share their opinions and thoughts with politician, and talk with their favorite celebrities through Twitter comment. In the case of well-known people, they have the urge to unconsciously tweet and disclose truths which are preferred to be hidden. In the article, “The Twitter hypocrisy of Kenneth Roth: using ‘human rights’ as a weapon against Israel,” Kenneth Roth, who is the executive director of Human Rights Watch, tweets that Israel allegedly has committed many war crimes in the war between Israel and Hamas, but what he fails to mention is that the soldiers of Hamas place their terrorist weapons in populated civilian areas intentionally, and they have more than ample warning from the Israeli forces before a strike (Foreman). Another example of very familiar social media for everyone is Facebook. Now, Facebook is not only posted about positive sides of Facebook users but also about their negative sides. For example, according to New York Times, Ms. Aran Hissam wrote about her daughter on Facebook. She posted her happy news that she was a pregnant on

Mark Zuckerberg transformed the world. After he created Facebook in 2004, social media developed into a major aspect of people's everyday lives. While Facebook posts help friends and family keep in touch, the negativities of Facebook greatly outway the positives. Posting on Facebook can negatively impact a person’s chance to further their career because posts can keep applicants from acceptance into college and from jobs, and posts can result in termination from a job.

Prior to the development of Facebook, as one of the first major social media networks, people used to communicate using the conventional channels, such as the telephone and emails, which were effective, but for their time were a little out of date. The introduction of social media, and specifically Facebook, people are able to share information and pictures from

Facebook was developed by Mark Zuckerberg who was in college when he created this social media networking website. Zuckerberg’s intentions were much different than what we have expected and grown used to. Facebook has allowed different sites and partner websites in on the user’s private information such as, their interests, location, and age. Social media has taken the world by storm. Facebook currently has more than 1 billion active users, which is three times the number of people who live in the US. With so many people using Facebook it comes to no surprise that it has been made to have a negative influence from concerns over privacy, to people spending hours on the site and ultimately becoming addicted to it. But Facebook can also be a useful tool when used correctly, it helps people stay in touch, make new friends and it cures boredom.
