1. Culturally competent to me means I would need to explore my own cultural and historical roots: values, beliefs, and so forth. Ensuing, I would need to be diverse and get to know other cultures since I will provide therapy to people with unfamiliar background. But don't stop there: further I need to join diversity-focused conferences to get formal training on latest research and practice issues. As I mention in the previous week, juncture with diversity-focused conferences will enhance my ability to think critically and quickly seek for guidance if I encountered obstacle in my practice. A diversity-focused conferences will also facilitate me to make a case before the lobby for suggestions and complaints thus, advances my diversity skill.

Cultural competence can become an ethical issue when a clinician is unaware the sensitivity of the clients in which the clinician is providing counseling. A great example from Chp. 4 is the case of the (indian; words means more than action). An effective preparation for counselor to deal with cultural competence-ethical issue is to familiarize with the demographic area where the counselor is practicing. Further, the counselor should learn more of the dominate ethnicities in their demographic areas that way the counselor is well prepared for cultural diversity counseling.

3. Constant refer to the ACA Code of Ethics to keep up with the latest update information is the first thing I would do to make sure that I am at least, culturally and legally competent. Participating and join an ACA (or similar) networks will also enrich empathy and understanding cultural differences. I then compare that acquired knowledge to my personal values, biases and beliefs for potential conflict and ensure that those conflicts (if any) will not interfere or override with my practice or clients that I am
