One book that is very similar to this book is Divergent by Veronica Roth. This book is a ‘sequel’ to the whole Divergent series technically. One part of the book that is similar is the fight scenes. In the beginning of the book, Four is training at Dauntless and he starts to train and learn how to fight. Which also happens in the book Divergent. Both characters, Tris and Four, aren't the best at fighting and have to learn. Four has to fight Eric. Four wins the fight against Eric and Eric is obviously mad and we learn in that in Divergent, Eric is still mad about the whole thing and switches up the rules for Tris and Peter’s fight. But Tris ends up losing and Four walks away from the fight because he can’t watch Tris get hurt. Another similarity …show more content…
This book is Four’s life before he met Tris, and when the meets Tris. So us readers get to see what life was like in Dauntless. We don’t really get to experience the jobs that they get after they become Dauntless because Eric and Candor decide to destroy Abnegation. The beginning of the book makes me consider how bad Four’s dad really was. Training was also interesting to see from another person’s perspective. We get to see Four’s struggle while he was training. No one helped him pass training even though he was Divergent. We also get to see how Four wants to leave Dauntless and become Factionless but then Tris comes along and he instantly falls in love with her and stays. There is one part of the book that becomes interesting. In Divergent, Tris does all of the combat fighting first. And in Four, they do fear landscapes first because they were trying something different. But the Dauntless don’t do experiments, they just want someone to manipulate. The main people of Dauntless and Jeanine become aware of things that they shouldn’t be aware of. Making a pawn means they want someone that is young because they are easier to ‘shape and mold’. It’s like creating someone that will help them make Dauntless the way that they want it to
The war was terrible, the whole world was destroyed. The last city left divided themselves into five factions to keep the peace. The smart ones are classified Erudite. Amity are always kind, Candor value honesty, Dauntless are brave, and Abnegation are selfless. The system works because everyone knows where they belong; everyone except for Tris. In the novel Divergent, by Veronica Roth, Tris demonstrates perseverance; this is shown through how she is able to step out of her comfort zone, always remains undeterred, and can overcome obstacles.
Have you ever wondered what it was like to live in a different type of government, or society all together? I will be comparing and contrasting the quality between three books The Giver, Divergent, and Fahrenheit 451. What I will be looking specifically is the rights of the people in the government to the rights of an average citizen.
In the divergent series written by Veronica Roth it tells a story of a young girl named Tris in this series Tris goes through a lot of events uncovering some of the mysteries a little at a time. The first book in the series is called divergent. In divergent Tris starts out as being an abnegation member. Abnegation is all about being selfless. Tris didn 't exactly like being abnegation but she didn’t mind it. In this book when you turn 18 you take certain test that go through mind control. In these tests they found out that Tris was divergent. Divergent in this book is an exactly excepted among the people.

There were numerous differences between the Fahrenheit 451 book and movie. The first and obvious one is that there is no woman named Mildred in the movie version. In the movie, Montag's wife is called Linda, which is different from the book. Another difference is that Montag first is introduced to Clarisse by Bradbury on the street, not on the subway as shown in the movie. A difference that has minuscule affect on the plot, but still noticeable enough for it to catch my attention.
imagination by the hand. There are not that many things that are different in the
Neil Burger’s film ‘Divergent’ and James Dasher’s novel ‘The Maze Runner’ are both set in a futuristic post-apocalyptic era with each main character being tested in order to find the right path to freedom. Both texts types share the themes of Bravery and Identity. The main characters are both strong, persistent and considered to be different to the rest. With the two different journeys to save the world and the main characters going through their own personal struggle, it offers a three stage journey: before, during and after war. With the use of current perspective of futuristic time exploration is used to create an image that is portrayed through the use of language and stylistic features within both the novel and film.
A common answer to a question people are always debating over is whether the book or the movie is better. So which one is better, the Divergent book or the Divergent movie? When comparing and contrasting the Divergent book and the movie based off of the book, you notice there are some features that are the same, and some features that are different. Some examples of these features are the details, the process, and the accuracy.
The movie Fahrenheit 451 was originally made from the book Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, with both the movie and the book having their similarities and differences from each other. scenes, and a few key parts from the book were not included in the movie. They also changed some of the names or simply didn’t include them in the movie. Some of those characters were left out such as one of the larger characters Faber. In the book Faber plays an elderly retired English professor that used to worked for the last collage in existence, Faber helped to teach the main character, Montag, about the world of literature. By leaving out Faber, They cut out a couple important scenes from the book. Scenes such as when Montag escaped to his house after murdering Captain Beatty, discovering and learning the where the book people where located and
The novel and movie, “Into The Wild” are extremely similar and different in that there are scenes left out of the movie that would have been an important aspect to the film as well as scenes added into the movie that were either not exceptionally important or were not apart of Christopher McCandless’ life story.
Insurgent, the next installment in Veronica Roth’s Divergent Series, picks up where the story left off in Divergent. The book begins with Tris, who is struggling to control her emotions after have fought and killed people placed under a single, yet very controlling simulation. After taking shelter in the Amity faction, Tris and her group of friends are attacked by members of the Erudite faction. Escaping in a nick of time, they join with the factionless in an attempt to defeat Jeanine once and for all.
The Hunger Games takes place in a post-civil-war country that has been divided into 12 districts. Katniss Everdeen lives in district 12 and competes in the yearly Hunger Games. She is not given a choice in this matter. Once she wins, she rebels against the government and fights to fix the districts. Divergent, a series by Veronica Roth, is a failed Utopia where each person has to choose which faction they want to be a part of for the rest of their life. Tris chooses Dauntless, and then discovers she is Divergent, a rare trait that could lead to being disowned by her society. This helps her to rebel against the government that is controlling people in her faction.
The book FOUR brought many thoughts and emotions to readers, including myself. When reading the book, readers can feel the emotion of sadness or heartbreak when finding out Four’s father abused him. They could also get a sense of happiness or satisfaction when he chooses Dauntless as his faction. They might even feel relief or compassion when he meets Tris, the main character of the Divergent series. This prequel of the series allows readers to truly see the life of one of the main characters in Divergent.
Thomas started from a person who was scared, confused, and curious, into the one who led them out of the maze and one of the most important Gladers. On the other hand, Tris was a quiet Abnegation girl who was struggling to fit into Dauntless. Eventually though she became one of the bravest people in the story, fending off multiple Dauntless soldiers and stopping the Erudite. There were also, quite obviously, going through very different situations. While, Tris had to fight her way to the top ten, hide her Divergence, and save an entire faction, Thomas was trying to figure out what his flashbacks meant, how he could get out of the maze, and why he had so much responsibility. Based on all of this information, I believe that dystopian fiction really seems to focus on themes of sacrifice, friendship, and most important of all, overthrowing “the system”. For example, another dystopian fiction novel that has all three of these themes is The Hunger Games. In the Hunger Games, Katniss, the protagonist, risks her life for her sister’s wellbeing, makes alliances with other tributes and rebels, and attempts to overthrow the Capitol. The main plot point of Divergent was to stop the Erudite, the most power-hungry of all five factions. Finally, Thomas stops WICKED, a group of scientists that experimented on the Gladers. During all three of these dystopian fiction novels the protagonists and their friends
Based on Ray Bradbury's most well-known book, the movie Fahrenheit 451, directed by Francois Truffaut, was created in the 1960's. Even though the movie is an adaption of the book, there are multiple differences between the two. The three most significant changes Francois Truffaut made in his adaptation of Fahrenheit 451 are extremely distinctive with the fact that they all relate to important characters within the original story and have a stark impact on the outcome of the movie.
